The news that Apple and might be working with LG to produce an HDTV took us a little by surprise, as we assumed that they would work with another partner. However, in another twist there could be three new models, which could be with us in 7 months. Knowing how Apple will implement this is a question that we cannot answer just yet, but we know how the company likes to simplify things.

AppleInsider believes that the best way to see what Apple’s concept will be like is to compare the upcoming device to the Bose VideoWave. They too have simplified the experience, as both companies hate to see clutter. Although Bose is great at what they do, Apple is expected to improve on things even further – but we have come to expect this from them.

The reason for three models is because they want three price options, so this can appeal to people on different budgets. What is the point of offering a new HDTV if you only have one, and that price will be out of the league of at least 80 percent of consumers? We cannot be certain if such a project would go ahead, but if it does Apple could give their new HDTV devices 16 speakers to give you the feeling that you are actually there.

Bose is known for first-class designs with their products, but Apple could put the VideoWave to shame. We have seen over the years how Apple has taken the humble computer design and turned it on its head. Compare this to PCs, and they are still the ugly towers they have always been – well give or take one or two all-in-one systems.

These sort of rumors have been going on for a while now, and although Steve Jobs still said that Apple TV is still a hobby to them, you cannot help but think that they are up to something. The reason why Apple has not wanted to take their TV project past the hobby stage is because of too many issues that comes with trying to infiltrate the television market.

This is much tougher than the smartphone market, because you have many more rules and regulations to follow. This is something that Apple has always wanted to try to avoid – the question is have they now gone back on this? If Apple and LG was to get together, then what do you think the final design will look like?

Whenever we sent a product to review we felt that first impressions always last, so the packaging is very important. If you are given a device, which has been poorly packaged, then in most cases the product will not be that great. However, this was not the case with the Bose Bluetooth headset. We are not saying that it is perfect; the box itself is first class, as is the little window showing you that little headset. However, when you come to take it out the box you then have to get a pair of scissors to get into the vacuum formed package. Having worked in this industry it would be simpler to have poppers so you can get into it more easily. Although we do understand that it is more about security, as would-be thieves could then take them from stores easier otherwise.

Now that our vacuum forming was now cut open we were able to get down to the task at hand. As you would expect we went straight for the headset first, just to get an idea of weight and build quality when compared to other brands on the market. I don’t know why, but I was expecting something a little heavier – although very pleased that it was lighter than expected. We have tested types like that before (such as the Jabra JX20 Pura Headset) and were surprised at the call quality.

I approach this review expecting a lot, this is only because I have a Bose SoundDock. OK, so it is one of their older models but it still offers one of the best sounds for its size – maybe one day I will have a new SoundDock to review? To most of us Bose means one thing, and that is quality, so we just hope that we are not let down. You will never see Bose just pushing out product after product, why would they when what they have is years ahead of everyone else?

However, that is in the home cinema and phone dock market, headsets are little different, as there is only so far that you can take it. The first thing to do with this device like any other Bluetooth headset is to pair it. This was a very simple process and took less than 30 seconds to do; on some occasions we have known pairing a device to take several minutes.

The phone that I was using was an iPhone 4, just thought you would like to know this. We were happy that our Bose Bluetooth Head came partially charged, nothing worse that opening up a new device only for it to sit and stare at you while you wait for it to get a full charge. The headset sent was for the right ear and by default the StayHear tip already fitted was medium in size. There are two other choices, small and large.

So I was all set, so now for the true test, it was time to call my brother. Using voice activation on the iPhone 4 is a little precarious, because more often than not you do not get the contact that you wish for. Thankfully there was no such issue this time, as it started to call the correct number.

Before I move on to the call itself, I would just like to note how comfortable the device felt in my ear. I have often had an issue with these devices, as they often fall out of my ear. The reason for this is due to small canals, but even the standard StayHear tip was perfect.

To make a call you just have to keep your finger on the larger of the buttons on top, this is also used when receiving a call as well. Thankfully my brother answered his phone right away, the volume was a little low, but turning the volume up was easy, as it was on top of the device at the bottom if you know what I mean. We would advise you to familiarize yourself with the controls first, as this will save you thumbling around pressing buttons that could cut off your call etc.

The call itself was an interesting one, the first thing that I noticed was just how easily I could hear the persons voice on the other end. However, I could not seem to get rid of this constant hissing. Now I do not know if it was an issue with the phone I was using, or it is the way that it uses its “Adaptive audio adjustment technology,” which will automatically adjusts headset volume depending on the noise that surrounds you? Do not get me wrong, it was not off putting, and performed better than any other headset I have tried in the past.

While talking to my brother I walked around the home and he said that the call quality was excellent, so then decide to take a stroll. During my little walk I passed a few screaming kids, a few bikes, some workmen digging a hole and a busy road full of cars. In all that time I could still hear my brother and he said that he was able to hear my voice much more than the surrounding noise. The reason for this was thanks to the “Noise rejecting microphone.”

To me the Bose Bluetooth Headset did not disappoint, and even though there was this minor hissing sound in the background, it never affected the conversation that I had. The one issue that you will have to get over is the price £129. However, if you are on the Bose website looking to purchase something then £129 is not that much after all.

We are told that the Rechargeable lithium-ion battery will allow for 4.5 hours of talk time and 175 hours in standby. There is a handy LED battery indicator to let you know the power level of your battery. For more details visit Bose UK.

Bose are renowned for their top of the range sound systems and high quality headphones. You would have thought that the link between high quality sound and Bluetooth headsets would have been made long before now.

Now the link has been made, but the real question is why has it taken so long? You don’t think Bose would miss out on that opportunity, do you? According to Pocket-lint’s Rik Henderson, it’s because Bose wanted to wait until the wireless technology became good enough to match their sound quality. However, we were aware of the plans back in October.

Now that Bluetooth has moved on and upgraded to 2.1, the long awaited Bose Bluetooth headset is on its way. The device can automatically adjust the voice levels against background noise to give you the best possible sound.

The device comes with a range of ear buds that fit neatly into your ear, it has all the usual things that a wireless headset would be expected to have, call buttons and volume buttons. Our experience of Bose products has always been good.

You will be able to pick one up in January but as with all Bose products, it isn’t going to be cheap. The device will retail for £ 119. Head to the bottom of the article to see the headset unboxed and pieced together, courtesy of Slashgear. There is a gallery of images from all different angles that you can view at Pocket-lint.com by clicking here.

What do you think of the headset? Will you be buying one?

Bose – the manufacturer of specially designed headsets for pilots that reduce outside noise and their fantastic home entertainment systems – has now announced the unveiling of a new single-ear Bluetooth headset, which according to Ross Miller from engadget.com, is their first.

As you know Bose products do not come cheap, because when people hear the brand name, the first thing to enter their minds is quality. This headset will carry a price of around $150 and if you want to get your hands on one, you only have to wait until mid/end of November.

This headset sports a TriPort design and uses advanced Bose Adaptive Audio Adjustment technology, which is said to measure the background noise and incoming speech then automatically adjust the headset’s voice levels.

It comes with a protective case and includes 3 StayHear ear-tips. This model also benefits from a sliding on/off switch, LED status indicators that show whether a Bluetooth connection is established with the phone or not, as well as how much battery life there is left.

Will You pay that much for a headset or just settle for cheaper version?

David Carnoy of Cnet is reporting that the surround system is fully integrated into a 46-inch LCD TV, and comes with a minimalist RF “click pad” remote control. The speakers are contained in the TV all sixteen of them, giving virtual surround sound.

An AV box is the hub of the unit and connects to the TV via a single three meter cord. Round the back are three HDMI inputs and on the front are connections for camcorders and other video devices.Component video and other basic AV inputs are also on the back of the unit.

As soon as you connect devices via HDMI the system detects this, and gives you a set of simple instructions to get the remote codes for the connected device.

This sort of system is aimed at a particular type of customer, and not your audiophile or videophile. For a lot less money you can get a much better system in terms of sound and picture quality. Included in the price are delivery and professional installation, and the system will only be available from Bose stores from October 14.
