The DLC does a number of things that will greatly expand and extend your gaming experience such as raising the level cap from 61 to 69, adding new talent points, new boss fights, more storage in your bags, and all new loot.

Sadly not available in Germany and Japan, Xbox 360 users can download the update via their Xbox 360 Dashboard, or add it to your download queue by clicking this link.

The new DLC will cost 800 Microsoft Points and for those of you who don’t know, you will still need the original copy of Borderlands to enjoy this DLC. We have also posted the dashboard text below for your pleasure.

To combat second hand sales of used munitions among greedy, haggling treasure hunters on Pandora, the Hyperion Corporation have decided to activate the Interplanetary Ninja Assassin Claptrap. Instead, it has organized all of the claptraps into a revolution, and they’ve been assimilating all life on Pandora and converting them into claptraps. With our heroes caught in the middle, they must stop the Interplanetary Ninja Assassin Claptrap in order to release his control over all of Pandora’s claptraps and collect their reward, of course.

Later this month the Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution DLC will launch, the title update will launch at a similar time as this DLC, however at the moment a solid release date has not been revealed.

This title update will be free for all three platforms, they didn’t include it in the forthcoming DLC as it would require all gamers to purchase all the previously released DLC as well.

The title update will raise the current level cap (61) to 69, which is undoubtedly going to be very popular amongst Borderlands players. Are you happy with the new level cap? Or should it have been higher?

This DLC adds 20 new missions to embark upon and lots of enemies to blast through, there will also be ten additional skill points, more backpack storage, and new loot, in addition to original boss battles, so don’t get rid of your copy of Borderlands yet, you still need it.

Details regarding the Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution DLC were leaked last week through a patch for the PC version, you can see our post on the leaked details here.

The next expansion is apparently all about Claptraps, the story revolves around the Ninja Assassin Claptrap from the end the original story, he is now leading a revolt against you and your fellow vault hunters.

The DLC will will feature nine main missions along with twelve side missions, here you will face re-animated claptraps and dead characters from the game, including Dr Ned, Commandant Steele and General Knoxx.

At the moment all this information has not yet been officially confirmed, therefore don’t take it too seriously, however the plot does sound pretty good.

All three lots of DLC usually cost 800 Microsoft Points, however during this promotion they will set you back just 400 Microsoft Points, be quick though as this offer only lasts one week.

Personally I think these deals may be used as a way to promote the next offering of DLC for Borderlands, 11 days ago General Knoxx tweeted this message “tap. tap. is this on? had to turn my tweetergramming machine back on. just got some new orders. (sent from the future.)”, which most certainly seems like a hint at more content.

JoyStiq’s editor states that he has only tried out the DLC for around 4 hours, therefore it is a bit of a snap judgment, all in all he seems happy with the DLC, however it is said to be pretty difficult.

He was shocked that his level 50 character was struggling so much with the opposition, therefore had to re-think his tactics and take out the opposition one at a time.

This download content is said to be the largest DLC released for Borderlands so far, details are still quite scarce regarding what this DLC will consist of, however there are said be more weapons and items and “never-before-seen enemies in a huge new environment complete with tons of brand new missions”.

It is thought that your characters will be able to level-up higher, prior to this there was a limit at level 34, however you will soon be able to reach level 50.
