Finally a Logitech diNovo Edge Mac Version

August 6, 2008 by Peter

There is no denying that one of the sexiest Bluetooth keyboards has to be the Logitech diNovo Edge. This however has only been available for Windows users that is until now. There is now a Mac version.

Now Mac users will be able to get their hands on this keyboard that has a smooth circular-scrolling track pad, with its orange-backlit keys along with its slick dock / charging cradle.

There is nothing new on the Mac version of the Logitech diNovo Edge, although the price is now a little lower, but $159 is still a lot to pay.

I have always had one problem with this keyboard though, the Caps Lock key. Logitech go through all the trouble of designing the diNovo to look as sleek as possible and then they go make a mistake like this.

With standard keyboards you have a gap between the Caps Lock and the A; this stops you from accidental presses. On the Logitech diNovo Edge there is no such gap, so you might put the Caps Lock on by mistake.

Hands on with the Jabra JX20 Pura headset

Over the past few years I have had a number of Bluetooth headsets, some I am too embarrassed to mention. Now I have had the chance to put something with a bit more quality in my ear. The earpiece that I am reviewing today is the Jabra JX20 Pura, this earpiece has been designed by Jacob Jensen.

It was just two years ago when Jabra wowed us with their JX10, this headset was small and elegant. Jabra has done it yet again with the JX20. From the moment I started to remove the Jabra JX20 Pura from the box, I could tell that although it was light the quality of the build was remarkable. You really have to hold one of these Bluetooth headsets in your hands to get an idea of just how light it is

Jawbone II Bluetooth Headset: less battery life

July 28, 2008 by Peter

Jawbone II is the second generation Bluetooth headset from the company, it is smaller than the old model as well as lighter and offering improved sound quality. On first glance Jawbone II looks all set to be a winner.

The first Jawbone was loved as it was simple in design, it did not rely on flashy looks. The old model was thin and sexy yet still managed to stay functional; you would have been mistaken for thinking that it was a piece of ear jewelry.

Many people still moaned that the Jawbone was still too heavy; this has led to the smaller lighter jawbone II. This is the same device, but smaller and does not have a huge ear hook like the old model. The Jawbone II is 50% smaller.

This Bluetooth headset is smaller and that comes at a price, as the battery life is a lot less. Expect to get 7 days standby and 4 hours talktime.

The Jawbone II will cost $130, for more information visit Yanko Design

The Lenovo IdeaPad U110 ultraportable notebook is coming to the U.S. soon thanks to a tip off from J&R. This laptop is only a small laptop as it has an 11.1 inch screen and will come in two versions the U110B which has a black cover and the U110R which comes with a red cover. Both of these models are identical, so let’s see what the notebook has to offer.

Firstly the Lenovo IdeaPad U110 weighs 2.3 pounds and comes with a 1.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo L7500 and has a low voltage. The ultraportable notebook also comes with an impressive 3GB of RAM, a nice sized 120GB hard drive and Intel GMA X3100 integrated graphics. Filed under Cell Phones, Handsets

The BenQ T60 is the newest slimline handset from the Taiwan-based cell phone maker. The phone is just 8.9mm thick which is one of the slimmest candy-bar style phones on the market.

Although the phone looks nice, it lacks in the feature department. The BenQ T60 cell phone comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera as well as Bluetooth connectivity, remote control (AVRCP) support and blacklist functionality. Do not expect much more from this phone, as it is just a simple handset.

The BenQ T60 will be available in stores later this month.

PanTouch Bluetooth / WiFi photo frames by Pandigital: bad idea

April 2, 2008 by Daniel
Filed under Digital Picture Frames, Electronics

When I went out looking for a digital photo frame I was looking for value for money, I wanted a nice big size for the right price. When it comes to having Bluetooth and WiFi with the digital photo frame it’s cool, but sadly you still need a lead for power.

This is the Pandigital PanTouch photo frame that comes with Bluetooth, WiFi and a touch sensitive display, which in my opinion is a bad idea. Not only does this put up the price for something you want cheaper anyway, but a touch sensitive display also has an LCD less bright than standard versions…we want a bright display do we not.

The Pandigital PanTouch photo frames are available next month and come in 10-inch (1024 x 768), 8-inch (800 x 600) and 7-inch (482 x 234) models. They are priced at $250, $170 and $120 respectively. I would agree that there is brands that are touch sensitive with very bright displays, but these are also at much higher prices.
