Last month we heard some more rumor on the new Verizon BlackBerry Storm 3, which came via an apparent 2010 roadmap for Verizon. You can read more details on this here, and if all goes to plan we could see Storm 3 (aka 9570) release towards the end of October.

RIM’s Storm 3 has been missing in action for a while now, and while some users may have picked up the BlackBerry ‘Style’ 9670, others do not see this as an option. The latest technology in these devices is not enough for the true Storm fan.

Even the Torch is not enough, this device is not seen as a game changer, and the rumors about LTE abilities with Storm 3 on Verizon Wireless are enticing to say the least. Wireless Ground believes that BlackBerry OS 6 needs a 1Ghz processor to be really “snappy”, and some users will not settle for anything less.

It’s got to the point that those wanting a Storm 3 are checking blogs on a daily basis for “something” new, especially when it comes to specs. The common feeling is that the device is taking too long to come out. Long term BlackBerry users know what they want, 1GB RAM, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, 1GHz processor, 720p video recording, 5 megapixel camera, and a 3-inch hi-res screen are just some of the features wished for.

Some of our readers have said that they are really considering going to an android phone after the long wait. Has RIM taken too long to bring out the Storm 3? Are you ready to upgrade or have you moved to an Android device during the wait for Storm 3?

Since the Apple iPad was launched at the beginning of the year, other computer and phone makers have been rushing to try and release their own in 2010. We have yet to see the first shot fired in retaliation, but one tablet device that has not been mentioned much is the RIM version, which many believe to be the Blackberry BlackPad.

Thomas Ricker from Engadget learned from Apple Daily a number of the features of the upcoming RIM tablet device. It is assumed that the screen size will be 9.7-inches and that it will offer both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, which we discussed in a recent post.

Apple Daily believes that Quanta will be building the device and has even come up with sales predictions. The first run will be in the region of 2 million units for sale from November and 8 million for 2011, so sales are expected to be about 10 million in just 14 months.

The target price is said to be $499, which is keeping in price with the iPad, and we expect to see a few spec configurations as we do with the Apple iPad. What tablet device would you choose, Apple iPad, the BlackPad, the HP Slate or one of the Android choices?

Earlier this year Apple released the iPad, this device has set the standard for tablet PCs and also ignited rumors regarding other upcoming tablets.

Today we have a new rumor, apparently Research in Motion (RIM) has recently registered a new web address, the URL is www.blackpad.com, which many believe may be a hint towards their their first tablet PC device.

This is not the first RIM tablet rumor we have heard, roughly two weeks ago we posted this article, this post hinted towards a 7-inch touchscreen display and a 1GHz processor, however this is unconfirmed.

Over the next few weeks I am sure that more details we be leaked, therefore we will keep you posted. What do you think of the name BlackPad? If you don’t like it what would you call it?
