AT&T has today announced that they will be offering two more BlackBerry smartphones, these are the BlackBerry Curve 3G (model 9300) and the BlackBerry Pearl 3G (9100).

No official release date has been confirmed for the Curve 3G, however we are reliably informed that it will be available online and in stores by the holidays. As for a price it will set you back $99.99 as part of a two-year deal, no rebate is required.

The Pearl 3G will become available from October 17, this smartphone will set you back $149.99 as part of a two-year deal, again no mail-in rebate is required.

Both the Curve 3G and Pearl 3G are great choices for people who do not want to spend too much on a smartphone, they will keep you in contact with social networks and offer pretty good multimedia functionality, whilst deliver pretty much all of the other functionality you would expect from smartphone these days.

If you would like to find out more about AT&T’s release plans check out the source link below, will you buy one of these BlackBerry handsets?

Back in August Jamie Pert reported that BlackBerry OS 6 was coming to the Bold 9700 and the Pearl 3G. We can now tell you that the new mobile operating system update will be within weeks, and we have two videos for you below to see them in action.

The only RIM handset to be running on BlackBerry OS 6.0 is the Torch, so will be a welcome upgrade for Bold 9700 and pearl 3G users. There are a number of good features with the new mobile OS, but there are still a few things that could have been worked on a little more.

It was no secret that the browser on BlackBerry OS 5.0 needed an improvement, and the new WebKit browser is certainly that. However, Chris Ziegler from Engadget noticed that it is not without its issues.

With this news and the unveiling of the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet device, Research In Motion is certainly in good shape and is prepared for a fight when it comes to keeping its smartphone market share.

The BlackBerry Pearl 3G only became available on T-Mobile a little while back, and already you can pick it up on a PAYG tariff.

Just two days after RIM introduced the Torch 9800, it seems as though they want to push the use of the BlackBerry family after a string of lukewarm reviews, and bad press circling around BlackBerry Instant Messenger and its email services abroad.

This is the first time that the Pearl 3G will be offered on a PAYG tariff in the UK, with the handset costing just £249.99. Customers who sign up before the end of this month (August) will get six months free email and internet access.

When RIM recently revealed the BlackBerry Peal 3G it seemed as if a lot of carriers would be interested in offering the smartphone, however we are now hearing that a T-Mobile USA release is looking doubtful.

A recent article posted on SlashGear suggests that T-Mobile have chosen not to offer the BlackBerry Pearl 3G, this is especially surprising as previous Pearl handsets have been a success for the carrier.

From what we can see these unconfirmed rumors stemmed from BerryReview, they believe that T-Mobile USA are holding out for a 3G BlackBerry Curve (85xx or 93xx).

Apart from a Bell release, other carrier details regarding this handset have been extremely scarce, therefore as we hear more we will keep you informed, for further information check out the link below.

What carrier do you want the BlackBerry Pearl 3G to be available from?

BlackBerry users will have a smile on their face today as RIM have officially announced the release of the BlackBerry Pearl 3G. This comes hours after the news was leaked prior to the official keynote at WES, where they also announced the BlackBerry Bold 9650 which we covered here.

As with all other recent BlackBerry phones, the device comes with a QWERTY keyboard and optical trackpad. But this time RIM have decided to include their SureType style keyboard which doubles up with two letters per numbered key.

The Pearl 3G also comes standard with quadband GSM and triband UMTS with rumors that North American and European versions could be released soon. The handset measures in at 108 x 50 x 13.3 mm and comes with Bluetooth and WiFi b/g/n connectivity as standard.

RIM have also decided to release the phone in two flavors, the Pearl 9105 being the other will stable a regular numeric keyboard instead, and both will come with a 3.2 megapixel camera which comes with autofocus, flash and image stabilization.

Obviously, one of the most important factors of the phone will be the price, and RIM have not released any information regarding this as of yet, but due to several leaks over the Internet throughout the week, you can expect to see the phone released on Bell, Telus and Rogers in Canada.
