In a new twist in the Mass Effect 3 ending saga, Bioware co-founder Ray Muzyka has now spoken out for the first time regarding the matter and has revealed that the team are planning to offer clarity to those who are feeling a little disillusioned over the controversial ending to the game.

In an open letter, Muzkya has said that the team appreciates the constructive criticism that they have received, but at the same time they also hit out at the ‘destructive’ criticism they have taken, adding that they will not tolerate personal attacks on their team members.

Regarding the Mass Effect 3 ending, Muzkya has said that they are planning to ‘directly address it’, seemingly suggesting that a change to the game’s ending may be on the cards – although obviously not a direct confirmation at this point which so many other websites seem to have taken for granted.

Perhaps even more important though, is the confirmation from Muzkya that a new Mass Effect game is already in the pipeline, or to take a direct quote from the man – ‘new full games’, so that is now official that more than one new Mass Effect game is coming in the future folks – an announcement they wouldn’t have made without this pressure perhaps?

“This is in addition to our existing plan to continue providing new Mass Effect content and new full games, so rest assured that your journey in the Mass Effect universe can, and will, continue.”

With the criticism still ongoing, Muzkya also reminded us that the game has received very positive reviews, with an apparent 75 critics awarding the game a perfect score. From our point of view it does seem like the criticism is getting a little overboard now – even resulting in many gamers taking their completed Mass Effect 3 copy back for a full refund from the likes of Amazon and even EA’s own Origin store.

Regardless of what you think of the ending, shouldn’t we be getting more excited about the fact that Bioware has just confirmed not one, but multiple Mass Effect games? Let us know your thoughts on Muzkya’s comments. Do you need a change to the Mass Effect 3 ending, or are you satisfied?

With Mass Effect 3 set for release in roughly 10 days we thought many of you would be interested in some gear which has recently been revealed by the guys at Razer, they teamed up with BioWare to create an official line of peripherals which are said to help you come out victorious when taking Commander Shepard on his intergalactic journey.

All of the following Razer products will become available in March, PC gamers will apparently benefit from utilizing Razer’s Mass Effect 3 BlackWidow keyboard, Imperator mouse and Vespula mouse mat, we can’t vouch for just how much these peripherals will help you during your Mass Effect 3 campaign – but you can’t ignore the technical specifications and features which the keyboard and mouse will bring when compared to standard offerings.

Let’s start with the ‘Mass Effect 3 Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Gaming Keyboard’. This keyboard will set you back $139.99 and for this hefty price tag you’ll get full mechanical keys with actuation force of 50g, all of which are backlit with 5 levels of brightness. As with many other gaming keyboards this model offers programmable keys with macro recording, customizable software profiles, gaming mode and 1ms response times. In terms of design you can see the keyboard below.

As you’d expect there’s a Mass Effect 3-inspired design and the ‘N7’ logo, also you can just about make out that it connects via USB and there’s USB-passthrough along with headphone and microphone jacks. In terms of size and weight it measures in at 475 x 171 x 30mm and it weighs 1.5kg.

If you buy the Mass Effect 3 keyboard you should also seriously consider the ‘ Mass Effect 3 Razer Imperator Ergonomic Gaming Mouse’, this features a 6400dpi 4G Dual Sensor which should ensure that you’re on target when battling it out with the enemies you meet in ME3. There’s also adjustable side buttons, 200 inches per second acceleration, sensitivity adjustment, Hyperesponse buttons, onboard memory, rubberized grips and mouse feet which deliver low resistance. Below you can see this mouse in all its glory, it connects via USB and measures in at 123 x 71 x 42mm – again it is decorated with ME3 artwork. This mouse will cost you $79.99.

The Imperator mouse goes hand-in-hand with another Razer product, the Vespula Dual-Sided Gaming Mouse Mat. At $34.99 we’ll forgive you for turning your nose up at this price, but if you do buy it you’ll get two surfaces, one for speed, the other for control – both of which are non-slip, anti-reflective and abrasion-resistant . When using this mouse mat you should stay RSI free thanks to a gel-filled wrist rest. The design is pretty eye-catching, you can see it below.

Finally we will quickly tell you about two peripherals for the Xbox 360, the Mass Effect 3 Razer Chimaera 5.1 wireless gaming headset will also work with the PC (we reviewed a similar headset here) and the Razer Onza Torunament Edition controller which can also be plugged into your PC. The Onza controller is just-like other variants, however this time round it has a Mass Effect-inspired design to accompany the adjustable analog sticks, additional programmable buttons and hyperesponse action buttons – it costs $59.99, whilst the Chimaera headset costs a whopping $209.99 and delivers rich sound with its 50mm drivers, this is a wireless headset and allows you to customize voice and game sound levels to suit your preference.

Head over to Razer’s Mass Effect 3 pages to find all the details regarding the peripherals which we’ve spoken about in this brief article, also there’s a Messenger Bag and iPhone protection case to check out, they cost $79.99 and $24.99 respectively, again we think the prices may put off a lot of potentional customers. No-matter which you choose to buy you will get a code to unlock the Deadly Collector Assault rifle and multiplayer content packs.

Who is your favorite game peripheral manufacturer?

If you’re looking forward to the arrival of Mass Effect 3 you will probably be keen to find out more about the game’s multiplayer elements, well today we are going to take a look at the classes which players will be able to choose from.

Recently a video was released by the guys at BioWare which gave us a glimpse of some of the game’s many classes which are available to choose from, as you would expect there’s different races which posses different unique attributes. We are also told that whilst playing ME3 you will be able to level up the characters to level 20 and utilize skill branches much like you do in single-player mode to customize your character’s abilities.

Sadly we don’t know all the little details, but here’s a breakdown of what we know so far:

If you choose to play as a Human Soldier you will have access to frag grenades and be able to use adrenaline rush and concussive shots.

Quarian Engineers will boast incineration and cryo blast abilities and also have sentry turrets at their disposal.

Drell Vanguard characters will boast cluster grenades, biotic charge and ‘pull’.

Turian Sentinals look like a fun class to play as, they will be protected by tech armor and also boast overload the overload capabilities to take out an enemies shield, that’s not all as this class can also warp.

Asari Vanguards will have lift grenades, the biotic charge power and the sought-after ‘stasis’ talent.

Salarian Inflitrator characters boast energy drain and tactical cloak powers, they will also be able to lay tactical mines.

Finally we can tell you about Krogan soldiers, these can take lots of damage at times thanks to their fortification power and then obliterate the enemy apart with the carnage talent, they will also have inferno grenades.

We’re not sure how many more classes there will be in Mass Effect 3 multiplayer, or whether that’s them all – therefore we will have to keep you posted as we hear more. If you’re not sure what a particular power does which is mentioned in this post you should check out this link for all the relevant information, whilst this page should clear up any questions you may have about the many talents available.

Which class do you think you will play as first?

Those of you who are waiting patiently for the release of Mass Effect 3 will be pleased to hear that we now have the demo release date confirmation. It has also been confirmed that the demo will roll out across all platforms at the same time and that it will include the Kinect voice control features that the Xbox 360 version of the game will have.

BioWare began the Mass Effect series over four years ago before bringing out a much improved sequel, which also got many experts’ votes for Game of the Year, two years later. Now we are on the verge of the third game in the series, which this time has a lot to live up to and as a result is one of the highly anticipated games of the year. It is also reported to be the conclusive installment of the series story that stars Commander John Shepard. Its launch date is scheduled for March 6th.

Today’s news is something a lot of the fans will be excited about as BioWare has announced they will release the demo across all platforms on February 14th, as explained in PC World’s article. Providing gamers don’t have much planned for Valentine’s Day, they will be in for fun game testing time and can get to grips with what Mass Effect 3 is all about.

What’s most exciting about this news is for Xbox 360 gamers, as they get to experience the game’s Kinect support and features which includes voice control. The demo also teases the new co-op mode, a feature that the series has only just added.

Details about what BioWare has planned as far as DLC is concerned can be found in Jamie Pert’s article by clicking the link. We also previously brought you news that PC gamers will be required to register with EA Origin in order to play the game, frustrating for some. Are you looking forward to playing the demo next month?

It is no secret that Mass Effect 3 will be the final chapter in Shephard’s story, however if you thought that would pretty much mean that downloadable-content for the game would be multiplayer-centric, think again. Recently GameInformer spoke to BioWare’s executive producer, Casey Hudson, and he let slip a few thing which we can expect from Mass Effect 3 DLC.

Firstly don’t get too excited as Hudson was being very careful with his words, but he did admit that BioWare take feedback from the community very seriously, this inspires them to add content which many people have wished for – so if there is something which you would love to see brought to the game via add-ons you should get vocal on the BioWare forums etc.

We can confirm that there will be both multiplayer and single-player downloadable content, we have added an extract from the conversation which revealed this below:

There’s some multiplayer stuff, but we’re also planning some DLC on the single-player side, because it did really good in Mass Effect 2. The adventure-type DLC will happen in the time frame of Mass Effect 3, within your Mass Effect 3 storyline. It’s similar to how with Mass Effect 2, if you had a saved game from anywhere inside the game, you could go on to the DLC.

As you can see it seems as if BioWare has a lot planned in regards to Mass Effect 3 DLC, we don’t quite know what to expect in regards to single-player DLC, but we expect side-quests which tie into the game’s storyline. Also something pretty interesting is that when you start Mass Effect 3 you will be able to choose between three game modes: action, roleplaying, and story – apparently you can’t lose in story mode as it is designed for people who are playing the game for the story experience, by the looks of things you will be able to change this setting when your playing the game. If you are playing the game in action mode it will enable automatic-dialogue so that more of your time will be spent battling it out with the enemy rather than becoming involved with the storyline.

Do you like the sound of three different game modes? What sort of DLC would you like to see? Let us know in the comments section below.

If you live in the UK and have been considering pre-ordering Mass Effect 3 we strongly advise that you pre-order your game from Game as they will be dishing out some very impressive pre-order bonuses.

Currently these bonuses aren’t showing up on the Game’s website, but Xbox360Achievements.org states that EA has announced this news according to this brief article.

If you pre-order Mass Effect 3 from Game you will get the M55 Argus Assault Rifle (a good all-round gun), the N7 Valkyrie Assault Rifle (a gun which pumps out two high calliber rounds per shot) and N7 Defender Armor – this armour not only protects you from your enemy but it also boosts your ammo capacity and weapon damage. You can see videos showing you all of the pre-order bonus content at the bottom of this page, what’s unclear is whether you have to pre-order the N7 Collector’s Edition to get all these goodies or whether the standard edition will do – hopefully we can confirm this soon.

Any hardcore Mass Effect fan should seriously consider the N7 Collector’s Edition of Mass Effect 3, at Game this will set you back £69.99 compared to the standard edition which will cost £39.99 (PS3 and Xbox 360), the N7 Collector’s Edition for PC also costs £69.99, which is surprising considering the standard edition of ME3 for PC costs just £32.99. Ignoring the Game’s pre-order bonuses the N7 Collector’s Edition gets you everything shown in the image below (click on it for a larger image).

Mass Effect 3 is scheduled for release on March 6 in North America, March 8 in Australia and March 9 in Europe, we recently listed it as one of the most anticipated titles of 2012 following the success of Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 – let’s just hope BioWare does a good job with the game’s development.

Have you now pre-ordered Mass Effect 3 yet?

Glitches and bugs are one of the most common and worst problems in newly released games and while they can be quite entertaining and fun for some people, they are in fact the result of poor finishing and more often spoil it for gamers.

Today BioWare, developer of Star Wars: Old Republic, has released an expected patch to fix their latest game’s bugs which are found in the UI and various missions. However it seems that this patch has failed to rectify one major glitch which has been reported frequently, referred to as the ‘invincibility dance’. It is fairly significant as it allows players to avoid enemy damage by dancing during battle in online multiplayer modes.

As a result of the patch’s failure to address this exploit, BioWare have been forced to provide a fresh bug fix that will get rid of the damage dodging glitch once and for all. They have promised that the fix will arrive in the next 24 hours but have explained in a statement that if they are experiencing further issues with the patch deployment will be delayed until tomorrow night.

In the meantime, as IncGamers explains, in an attempt to avoid players exploiting the game and spoiling it for others, BioWare has declared that anyone found using the bug to their advantage in this way could find themselves being faced with disciplinary action as a result. Pretty harsh considering they are the ones that missed it and made it possible in the first place.

Patch 1.0.2 addresses quite a few other issues, with the /getdown emote during battle aside, including fixing the bug that causes interruption with some ability activation times during cover and the correction of a bug that prevents players from taking cover when large NPCs are targeted.

Have you noticed any other issues that were not addressed with this first bug fix?

Some exciting stuff here for those of you who are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Mass Effect 3, as the developer BioWare has just released a couple of game trailers revealing some of the pre-order goodies you can expect to receive if you intend on purchasing the title early.

First of all, everyone who pre-orders Mass effect 3 will gain access to the M55 Argus assault rifle, a weapon that according to the video clip is ‘devastating at any range’ and produces accurate bursts of fire. Additionally gamers in the US who manage to snap up the title early from GameStop will also receive the N7 Warfare Gear which consists of the N7 Valkyrie Assault Rifle; a weapon that possesses ‘superior accuracy’ and fires high caliber rounds and the N7 Defender Armor which grants players increased ammo capacity, weapon damage, shields and health.

Whether or not gamers outside of the US can obtain the N7 Defender Armor is not yet known although reports suggest regional availability will be announced soon. If that wasn’t exciting enough PC gamers who find themselves pre-ordering through EA’s Origin storefront are also in for a treat as they will be receiving the AT12 Raider Shotgun.

According to CVG there will also be a Mass Effect 3 Collector’s Edition available that features ‘classified’ bonus missions, characters and more. The first issue of the comic for the game called Mass Effect: Homelands is reported to be released in April. Published by Dark Horse and written by lead writer of Mass Effect 3 Mac Walters, each issue focuses on different characters in the Mass Effect universe. Faux-hawked newcomer James Vega will be the first member to be center of attention. The game is expected in March.

What do you think of these pre-order goodies? Will you be pre-ordering the game?

If you spent a significant time playing Dragon Age 2 and were disappointed with the overall result, we have some interesting news for you. Bioware has revealed this week that they are currently in the thought process regarding a third game, and that development influences for the game may include aspects from a certain Bethesda 2011 game of the year.

While Dragon Age II was a solid sequel in the popular franchise, many gamers will agree that it wasn’t as good as the excellent Dragon Age: Origins. The game still performed well on Metacritic though, reaching its highest score of 82/100 on both PC and PS3. There were a few controversies along the way though, one of them being a public backlash regarding DRM support for the game, and the other being when it was found out that a member of Bioware’s development team had given the game a user review score of 10/10.

The good news, is that EA and Bioware are looking to improve on all aspects in Dragon Age 2 that they didn’t get right, in the follow up game which has yet to be given a release date. There’s millions of you playing Skyrim right now, and you may be interested to know that Bioware are planning to include influences from Bethesda’s recent RPG epic, and hinted that Dragon Age 3 may have ‘much more of an open world feel’.

Here’s a few words from BioWare boss Ray Muzyka, taken from a recent interview with Wired:

”[The next Dragon Age] is gonna have the best of features from the prior Dragon Age games, but it’s also gonna have a lot of things I think players are gonna find compelling from some of the games that are out now that are doing really well with more of an open world feel. “We’re checking [Skyrim] out aggressively. We like it. We’re big admirers of [Bethesda] and the product. We think we can do some wonderful things.”

How much of Skyrim they use in the next Dragon Age game though remains to be seen. EA has obviously seen the financial success of Skyrim and are looking to emulate that with their ‘product’, but we do like the idea of Dragon Age 3 being much more of an open world game, since this was clearly lacking in Dragon Age 2.

If you played the previous game, what are your thoughts on the news? Are you happy for DA3 to take elements from Skyrim or would you prefer a different approach from Bioware?

Back in February 2003 EA Pacific’s Command & Conquer: Generals was released, we loved playing this game at LAN parties and thanks to its requirements pretty much everyone had a PC capable of playing it. Today we can confirm that Command & Conquer: Generals 2 has been officially announced

C&C: Generals 2 is being developed by BioWare and is headed for a release in 2013, however we do not yet know which platforms this game is coming to. Today we have some details to tell you all about and the first-ever teaser trailer, scroll down to the bottom of this post to watch it.

The video doesn’t give a great deal away, however we do get to see that it will use the Frostbite 2 engine. This should ensure that explosions look realistic just like they do in Battlefield 3 and in terms of visuals we can expect a massive jump when compared to any previous C&C game.

As you would expect Generals 2 is a real-time strategy, you will have to play the part of the Generals after a massive terrorist attack kills everyone in attendance at a peace conference, your job is to end global terrorism once and for all.

Details are still pretty scarce, however we are told that the thrilling single-player campaign lets you experience the story from multiple perspectives as you will be able to take control of three different factions. There will be completely new multiplayer game modes, DLC which will consist of factions, units, maps and more. In terms of gameplay you can expect what we have seen before, building a base, collecting resources, training soldiers and building tanks and aircraft – we can’t wait, check out the screenshot below to get a taster of graphical expectations (click on it for a high-resolution version).

This will be BioWare’s first attempt at a real-time strategy game, therefore it will be interesting to see what they come up with, usually BioWare develop role-playing games, the Mass Effect and Dragon Age franchises have sold extremely well, therefore you can’t blame them for moving out of their comfort zone and trying something new.

Do you think the guys over at BioWare have what it takes to make C&C Generals 2 the best Command & Conquer game to date?
