Now Bill Gates has been interviewed by the BBC and said that Microsoft’s decision to buy Skype was strategic.

An article on BBC Business News is also reporting that Microsoft founder Bill Gates was a major player in getting the takeover of Skype done and dusted. He was interviewed for the BBC’s Hardtalk TV program. The takeover of Skype was Microsoft’s biggest ever acquisition.

Bill Gates said that the deal is great for both companies, and said the decision to buy Skype was “strategic”. Skype which is based in Luxembourg has around 663 million users globally, but has struggled to make a profit as most of its services are free to use.

Gates went on to say that Skype “actually does get a fair bit of revenue”, but he is looking forward to the research team of Microsoft joining forces with Skype, and seeing their “brilliant ideas” come to life. It is thought that Skype could find its way to the next version of Microsoft Office.

One such app is AllRich, which comes in a free version for the iPhone or a HD version of the iPad at a cost of $0.99.

You will find detailed information on all those more fortunate than you, such as Bill Gates and Warren Buffett. Once you click on a certain person you will then see more details, such as when and where they were born, and their occupation and net worth.

Another app that we have found is called FilthyRich and costs just $1.99 – ok more expensive than the other one. This app works on the iPhone and the iPod Touch and gives you details on the 50th richest people in the world – that’s if you want to know just how much they are better off than you?

However, you have to remember that some of these people had to earn it the hard way, such as Bill Gates. He started things off from the ground up, unlike some of the others who had things handed to them. If you had the kind of money they do, what would you spend it on?

It seems as if Bill will commit to improve immunization over the next ten-years, this commitment will apparently cost Bill around $10 billion, Bill wants the next 10 years to become “the decade of the vaccine”.

This $10 billion is said to be the largest ever single charitable pledge, Bill did admit to being impatient, however being impatient in regards to changing global health must be admired.

It is thought that this investment will perhaps save up to 8.7 million lives, another statistic stated that a rough guide shows you can save a live for around $2,000 (on average).
