If you are a Nintendo Wii U owner, then you are obviously looking forward to seeing some progress made in the third-party game category. Black Ops 2 and Assassin’s Creed 3 were two very pleasing additions, but one upcoming third-party game that everyone is getting excited about is Bayonetta 2- the sequel to the popular first game and a title that is coming to the Wii U exclusively as well.

Xbox 360 and PS3 users are not too happy about it either after playing the original game, but the decision has now been made up. We’re guessing Nintendo paid a handsome sum indeed for exclusivity to the game and fans will be hoping that the game releases sometime towards the end of the year.

Platinum Games has remained very quiet on development on the game over the last few months, but they have dropped a small teaser within the last few days. The game was shown off at Nintendo’s recent Direct presentation for 2013 and a new image showing a boss character was teased at the very end.

If you saw the image, you may have thought it was CGI visuals on show, but it has now been confirmed that it was actually in-game graphics which is pretty impressive. Don’t worry if you missed the show, as the image can be seen here above – what do you think of the graphics quality so far?

Platinum Games has ensured fans that development for Bayonetta is still going ‘smoothly’, but we’re guessing that the next major reveal will come at E3 2013 during Nintendo’s keynote. If this happens, we’re also hoping that a solid release date will be finalized as at the moment, Wii U owners are up in limbo as to whether the game will be ready for a 2013 release or not.

Don’t forget that the game is being built from the ground up on the Wii U hardware, so are you excited about the capabilities on offer based on the teaser image above? The console is still being criticized for its potential compared to the Xbox 360 and PS3, but it goes without saying that games are only going to get better on the Wii U once developers really get comfortable with the hardware.

Nintendo has now finalized an official release date and pricing plans for the upcoming Wii U console, much to the delight of fans. The new system will be arriving on November 18 in the US, but the biggest news from the event could be securing Bayonetta 2 as a Wii U exclusive.

Despite mixed reactions to the first Bayonetta game in 2010, it is still a game that most fans enjoyed playing, with everyone assuming that the inevitable sequel would also arrive on multiplatform. Nintendo however has other ideas, announcing the game as a Wii U exclusive, with Platinum Games on development duties once again and Nintendo themselves publishing the game.

We don’t have a release date for the game yet, but hopefully it will be landing sometime in 2013. Nintendo did release a teaser trailer for Bayonetta 2 during their press events yesterday and we’ve added that below so you can take a look at it. Following on from the very reasonable $299 price for the system, is this now further evidence that the Wii U has serious pulling power when it comes to attracting third-party developers?

We’re willing to bet that many Xbox 360 and PS3 owners will be sad that Bayonetta 2 is coming to the Wii U only, but it is a great coup for Nintendo and perhaps an indication that other big name third party titles will show up on the system as exclusives as well. Even though everyone already knew it, Black Ops 2 was officially confirmed for the Wii U as well, with Nintendo showing off some of the extra features available via the touchscreen controller.

Black Ops 2, Bayonetta 2, Darksiders 2 with exclusive Wii U content and now a brand new Monster Hunter game on the console as well. Has business suddenly picked up for the Wii U? We would say that Nintendo are now in a much better position than they were in at E3 last year.
