We have some good news for Batman Arkham City owners now, as Warner Bros has just disclosed some information regarding the highly anticipated Harley Quinn DLC content that will be available for download soon.

Warner Bros has just announced that the upcoming Harley Quinn’s Revenge pack will add an impressive two hours plus of new gameplay to the successful title. Originally, we thought that the new content would be available with the Game of The Year Edtition of Arkham City, which goes on sale at the end of May.

However, the community manager for Rocksteady has just clarified that the Harley Quinn’s Revenge DLC will actually be available much sooner – April 29 and April 30 to be exact. PS3 owners will be able to get it a day earlier than those playing Arkham City on Xbox 360.

A price has also been confirmed for the DLC, as Xbox 360 owners will need to pay 800 Microsoft Points for the content, while PSN users can get it from the PS Store for $9.99. It may be worth noting that during the new Harley Quinn missions, you’ll be able to play as both Batman and Robin.

It’s a bit harsh on those wanting to buy the G.O.T.Y edition in Europe though. For some reason, US gamers will be able to pick it up on May 29th, but everyone else outside of the US will have to wait a staggering three months to get the exact same version in September. Not too much a concern for those that already have the game, but still a bit disappointing that these region shenanigans still exist in the industry.

To recap, the new Harley Quinn DLC is releasing next week as standalone DLC. After playing the game thoroughly, will you be buying this or giving it a miss? We can’t wait to see what Rocksteady’s new project is – perhaps this will be shown off at E3. We would love for them to make an Avengers game – how good would that be?

Batman: Arkham City has been a massive success for Rocksteady Studios since it was first released back in October this year, today we can confirm the date that more downloadable-content will hit Xbox Live and the PlayStation network thanks to a recent tweet from the official Arkham City News Twitter feed.

You can see the tweet below, as you can see it does not state the name of the downloadable content or its price, however multiple sources have suggested that it will be called the Challenge map pack, or perhaps the Batcave Challenge map pack. One thing which is clear is that it will arrive on December 20th.

Brand new DLC coming December 20th with all new Batcave. Jokers carnival and the iceberg lounge also available to download then!

As you can probably tell details are extremely scarce at present, but it looks clear that this DLC will just bring new challenges to the game and no new storylines, this has infuriated some gamers so much that they set up a petition over at the Arkham City forums to urge Rocksteady Studios to bring story-based content to the game as Challenge maps are in their words “boring and repetitive” – do you agree?

If you look back at Batman: Arkham Asylum you will see that the DLC which was brought to this game consisted of new maps and map packs, we really think that gamers would happily spend more on DLC if it consisted of new stories to further enhance the game’s campaign, however some people say that such content would ruin the game’s ending.

Hopefully we will hear more about this challenge pack soon, when we do we will keep you posted so keep checking Product-Reviews.net for all of the latest news!

What sort of content would you like Rocksteady Studios bring to Arkham City?

Recently we was forwarded a press release telling us that this year’s Batman game, Arkham City, was now available on OnLive. Like most OnLive releases you are allowed to demo the game free of charge for up to 30 minutes before deciding whether or not to buy it, well it looks like a lot of gamers took advantage of this offer.

According to OnLive, Batman: Arkham City has set records in both the US and UK for most demos played in a single day. This shows us that OnLive’s instant streaming service is really beginning to become popular, we just wonder how many demos played led to sales. Here’s what OnLive Founder and CEO, Steve Perlman, had to say about the impressive demo launch:

“The record-shattering performance of the Batman: Arkham City demo shows that gamers recognize the immense advantages of playing free trials on the OnLive platform, OnLive makes the ‘try-before-you-buy’ experience effortless, and it’s quickly becoming gamers’ go-to destination for instant-play demos and early exclusives”

We have to agree with Steve in regards to OnLive’s instant streaming of demos being effortless in comparison to rival solutions, let’s face it we have all at one point or another had to wait ages for a demo download to complete only to play it and be totally unimpressed. Perhaps Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo could learn a little from OnLive – what do you think? What we like the most is that you can progress in a game whilst playing the 30 minute free demo and then carry on from where you left off when you purchase the game.

The full game costs $49.99 / £34.99 in the U.S. and UK respectively, however if you just want to play it for a few days you can also just rent the game for 3 days ($5.99) or 5 days ($8.99). Currently U.S. consumers can get the full game, however UK gamers are restricted to the demo until November 25.

UK gamers can check out Arkham City on OnLive here, whilst US gamers should check out this link.

Is OnLive beginning to grow on you?

By now many of you will have been enjoying gliding through the skies as the Dark Knight in the latest game, Batman: Arkham City, many of you except the PC gamers that is. This is because the release of the game on the PC has been delayed on more than one occasion. After being scheduled for a November 18th release, news that it is to be delayed once more has emerged.

The game was released on both the Xbox 360 and the PS3 consoles last month, at the time an exact release date for the PC version was still unclear. Now the publisher, Warner Bros. has come out and confirmed the different dates for different parts of the world, finally solving the PC release date riddle once and for all. We were able to find out the exact dates thanks to VG24/7.

North Americans will be the first to get the PC version of the game, which will be available on November 22nd. Those of you in the UK will have to wait a little while longer as it is not available here or in other counties in Europe until November 25th. The French get it a day earlier than the rest of Europe on November 24th and those in Australia can expect the game to be available November 23rd. Steam also confirmed that they would not have the PC version of the game available until November 22nd, backing up the new delays.

If you are still unsure whether or not you will be purchasing the game, on any platform, check out the news of the reviews we have brought you, they might just be enough to help you decide. What platform will you be getting the game on? If you have already played it what do you think of it?

Roughly two weeks ago we told you all about the Nightwing DLC for Batman: Arkham City, here we revealed that it would cost $6.99 and launch on November 1st, now we have a video to show you Nightwing in action.

Comic readers will know what Nightwing is all about, however we thought we would quickly run through the new playable character’s abilities and weaponry – all of which was was confirmed at in the video at the bottom of this post, we think that it’s safe to say that you will have great fun playing as Nightwing.

In terms of abilities, Nightwiing is no pushover, he was trained by Batman and is a master of mutliple martial arts, which means his has astounding agility, endurance and strength. Most of the time you will take out the enemy with kicks, knees and elbows, but you also have escrima sticks in each hand, wrist darts to pick off the enemy from afar and advanced offensive devices (aka batarangs).

Towards the end of the video it clearly states that the DLC will bring exclusive maps and a new animated series skin – all in all we think most people won’t think twice about spending $6.99 on this DLC – perhaps we are wrong, let us know in the comments section below.

If you head over to JoyStiq you will see that Robin (from the Dark Knight) should arrive on November 22 for the same price, what other playable characters would you like to see?

Arkham City has finally arrived and many of you will have been enjoying roaming the streets of Gotham trying to contain the scum of the city by now. Having brought our readers news of an iPhone app which guides players through the riddles in the game, we now have news of a secret mystery room and instructions on how to access it.

During the build-up to the game the developers, Rocksteady Studios, did their best to keep things from getting out about the game that they didn’t want people to know just yet. That didn’t stop the likes of the character Nightwing being revealed before they intended. Aside from that the secrets remained pretty well kept. Now the game has been released the secrets are pouring out onto the internet.

According to GameFront, there is also a secret mystery broadcast that can be de-coded during the game using the Cryptographic Sequencer to locate them. There are several cryptic codes throughout the game but there are only three secret ones. These can be solved using a number to letter cipher to reveal messages from the certain characters in the game. We also previously brought you news of a guest appearance in the game which was also a secret. Kitana from Mortal Kombat appears as a detainee in one of the cells in the game. She has no name or identity but her attire and introduction from Penguin seem to suggest it is in fact her.

The secret mystery room can also be located using the cryptographic sequencer; however it must be upgraded with the TYGER codes installed. For a step by step guide on how to access the room click the link above. Have you discovered the secret mystery room? What other secrets have you discovered?

This fall is where all the action is expected to occur with the titles that are due to come out. Two of those hotly anticipated titles were released at the same time this week, but there was only ever going to be one outcome, as many predicted, Batman: Arkham City glides in at number one in the UK games chart, with the fourth biggest game release of the year, while Football Manager 2012 only manages third place.

This is the biggest launch ever for publisher Warner Bros. Interactive and to be amongst the biggest selling games of the year behind the likes of FIFA 12, L.A. Noire and Gears of War 3 is a great achievement for them. They also managed to double the amount of copies sold in the launch of their previous game, and former game of the year, Arkham Asylum which is very impressive.

According to Metro when it came to individual format sales the amount of copies of Arkham City sold was pretty evenly split between the Xbox 360 and the PS3. The multi-format chart saw FIFA 12 hold on to its number two spot, managing to shift 1,800 more copies then the debutant Football Manager 2012. The latter is only available on the PC which would have hindered the totals somewhat.

The rest of the chart was made up of Forza Motorsport 4 in fourth position, Just Dance 3 on the Wii in fifth, The Sims 3 Pets in sixth, then PES 2012, Rage, Zumba Fitness and Gears of War 3 making up the rest. There are several more highly anticipated titles due out this quarter making it fairly easy to predict which games are going to sell the most copies each week. Next week it is likely that we will see Battlefield 3 top the charts. What do you think of the charts this week? Were you surprised to see Batman: Arkham City take the number one spot?

It is common for a game to contain a few easter eggs as players have especially become used to seeing easter eggs thanks to the popular zombie mode contained in Call of Duty Black Ops. However, the following Batman Arkham City easter egg is a bit special, as it looks like Rocksteady has secretly paid tribute to Mortal Kombat in their game.

If you weren’t previously aware, Rocksteady and NetherRealm Studios (Mortal Kombat developers) are both subsidiaries of Warner Bros, so when you think about it, it doesn’t seem too farfetched that one developer would compliment the other – we just didn’t think we would see a Mortal Kombat reference in a Batman game that’s all.

As discovered by DynamicGamer, it looks like Kitana has found her way into Arkahm City as one of the detainees of Arkham City. Her appearance definitely fits that of Kitana, although her costume appears to be just show a ‘darker’ shade of blue, to fit in with the overall styling of Arkham City, as opposed to Kitana’s much bolder blue attire that we have become used to seeing in MK.

Further clues that this is Kitana can be found in the description of the female prisoner by The Penguin, as you can hear him saying the words: “Now this little minx is a real puzzle. Where did she come from? How did she kill eight of my men before we managed to hold her down and beat her into unconsciousness!? All I know is… I like her pajamas.”

Considering that she has no name or identity, we’d say this is definitely a Mortal Kombat easter egg in the game, but the question that now enters our mind is ‘Will NetherRealm Studios return the compliment in Mortal Kombat 10‘? That would be pretty awesome if there were some sort of Batman elements featured in the follow-up to MK9 – Dare we even say it – Batman or Joker as a DLC character for MK10? Maybe we’re getting a little carried away here.

What are your thoughts on this easter egg, have you found it in-game yet? Check out the video below which shows Kitana in action.

Following on from the release of Batman Arkham City just a few days ago, it looks like many users are experiencing serious problems with regards to getting Robin DLC voucher codes activated and also no code to unlock the Catwoman content in the game as well.

Users have been expressing their frustration on the official Arkham City message boards, but you’ll be pleased to know that Rocksteady and Warner Bros have already acknowledged the problems and have provided the following message on Twitter with specific reference to the Catwoman codes:

”We are aware that some people did not receive the Catwoman code in their game. You will get to play as the sexy thief, stay tuned for update”

If you’re not aware, all buyers of Arkham City were supposed to get a code in their game to unlock the Catwoman content, but as you can see in this forum post on the official boards, many are angry that they received a game with a blank piece of paper with no Catwoman code on it.

Other problems with the game include users receiving a DVD instead of a Blu-Ray in the Collector’s Edition of the game, and also no Collector’s Edition cards being included in the game either – sounds like one almighty mess doesn’t it?

Hopefully Rocksteady and Warner Bros will fix up the problems soon and players will be able to enjoy the Robin DLC and Catwoman content as soon as possible. Having said that, it must be very frustrating for gamers who have just coughed up $100+ for the Collector’s Edition.

Are you having any problems related to the issues we mentioned above, or are your codes working fine now? We’ll update you when hear back from Rocksteady regarding a fix – We’re not sure how they are going to redistribute those Catwoman codes though to those that purchased the game and didn’t get a code. Perhaps Rocksteady will be emailing codes, we’ll have to wait and find out.

What do you make of all the Arkham City DLC problems?
