When you attend one of these car shows, it will be like you have just gone to heaven – yes they are not as safe as the modern-day vehicle, but does that really bother you? There are a number of classic car show events planned this month, so you will need to plan for this, as there are one or two special ones.

The first has already started, the Southeastern Divisional Tour held in Wilmington, NC from May 1st to the 4th. Next up is Burning up the Beaches, which is to be held on May 5th to the 8th at Ft. Walton Beach, FL. Next up we have the special one, The Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This event will be held on May the 13th to the 15th and will be an 100th Anniversary event.

The final two classic car shows for this month are Rochester NY Automotive Swap Meet on May 21st and the ACHAFR Ride-Along Tour on May 20th to the 27th. This is a longer event than the others, so will be fun for all the family, as you drive along in your classic car and show the public your dream automobile. As most of you will already be aware, one of the biggest auto shows in the 2011 calendar has already taken place and that was the Detroit Auto Show. At the event, we gave you a round up of some of the best electric cars of 2011 which you can check out again if you missed it.

As for the rest of the year, there will be plenty of shows to choose from, depending on if you live in the US or Europe and other parts of the world. One auto show which you may want to pay particular interest to is the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, which will be taking place between September 15th and September 25th. If you’re interested in obtaining tickets for the FF Auto Show, you’ll find this link at their official website handy.

Another date which you’ll want to mark down in your diaries is April 22nd, as that is the start of the New York Auto Show – another event where’ll be able to see the most glamorous models from manufacturers on display. The event will run until May 1st. We’ve spotted on their website that there is even an official App for iOS devices, which you can download for free now – it might be worth a download if you’re planning to visit the New York show.

Over the past few years car shows have not been as popular as they once were, this is due to a recession on not only the auto market but most other markets as well. However, one thing that does not change is innovations, and this year’s Washington Auto Show is said to be the best yet.

For those of you who will be attending the event will be happy to know that organizers have made available the Auto Show Mobile App. This allows you to view a map and then search each exhibitor to see where they will be. You can also plan your schedule for which sessions you wish to see. More details on this can be found here.

Looking on the Washington Auto Show website, they have provided for you a schedule of events – we were surprised at how extensive it was. The likes of Toyota, General Motors and Kia have a few special events planned, offering you the chance to get much closer to the cars.

To keep fully up-to-date with all that is going on, then you need to visit the Twitter page and Facebook profile for the Washington Auto Show. This could be the best year yet for green technology in our future vehicles, so let us embrace it – gasoline will not be here forever.

It is there where you will have all the details you need on the event, as well at prices for tickets. Prices vary depending on what kind of ticket you want.

The regular Top Gear team from the hit BBC show will be live at the event, so if you love watching Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May act like idiots, then you are in luck. This has to be one of my favorites shows on at the moment, I just love the specials when thy have to take part in a challenge.
