Are you one of the many gamers that have recently gone out and purchased the adult-orientated horror, puzzle-platformer, adventure game Catherine – which is developed by Atlus – for the PlayStation 3? If you are, then you might like to know that a PS3 trophy guide has just been unveiled. What’s more is that we’ve also discovered videos that will provide you with a few tips.

According to an article by Jonathan Leack over on the playstationlifestyle.net website, there are a total of 48 trophies to unlock in the Catherine game, including 40 bronze, 6 silver, 1 gold and 1 platinum trophy. As with all other games, the platinum trophy (titled Cheers To You!) is only achieved once a player has collected all of the other available trophies.

3-Star Man is just one of the bronze trophies available in the Catherine game. To unlock this trophy, players must unlock Menhir by achieving Gold Prizes in 3 of the puzzle stages in Story Mode. However, gamers have to be playing in normal or hard difficulty. To achieve the Gold Prize, you have to quickly climb and keep the multiplier going as long as you possibly can while avoiding being killed.

Once this has been achieved, players will unlock the Menhir stage in Babel mode. Another bronze trophy is Let My Sheep Go, which can be achieved by completing the third stage in Story Mode. Players will earn the trophy once they defeat the stage’s boss, Immoral Beast. To unlock the Crossing the Courtyard trophy, players have to conquer the fifth stage of Story Mode.

As with Let My Sheep Go, the trophy will only be earned once players have defeated that specific stage’s boss, Doom’s Bride. Meanwhile, the Past a Heap of Puzzle trophy (bronze) requires players to beat stage 64 of Rapunzel, a great mini-game that is found at the bar. Rapunzel is similar to normal puzzle gameplay, but with a set amount of moves to complete each stage.

The Rapunzel mini-game features a total of 64 increasingly difficult stages to overcome. To unlock the I Can Fly! silver trophy, players are required to jump on a Spring Block three times in a row. Spring blocks are quite difficult to find, but they can be found by searching for a block that has a small trampoline inside it. If you manage to step on it 3 times in a row you will unlock the trophy.

To achieve the Dreams Come True Gold trophy, you have to view all of the game’s endings. The Catherine game features a total of eight different endings, with each ending having their own trophy. The endings include bad lover, true lover, normal lover, bad cheater, normal cheater, true cheater, normal freedom and true freedom.

You can read more about the trophies and view the tip videos over on the playstationlifestyle.net website. Have you purchased the Catherine game? If you have, how many of these trophies have you already achieved?

We have some rather interesting news now for those of you that are thinking about buying a copy of SNK Playmore’s upcoming fighting game The King of Fighters XIII, as we’ve just heard that Atlus has recently revealed more details for the upcoming game. That wasn’t the only thing the publisher revealed however, as they also announced a pre-order bonus.

If you pre-order a copy of The King of Fighters XIII game – which is scheduled to be released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in late October – from participating retailers you will receive a bonus 4-CD soundtrack, which according to a recent article over at gamasutra.com, contains music that spans the series’ 15 + year history.

The game’s story mode won’t just enable players to view events from one character’s perspective, but multiple characters including Heidern, Adelheid and Ash. What sounds even more exciting is the fact that the story will be influenced by the gamer’s battle results and choices. Meanwhile, the Online Versus mode features 3 different match types.

These include Player Match, Ranked Match and Friend Match / Xbox Live Party. Ranked matches follow strict rules, where players’ records are reflected in official rankings. Unranked Player matches on the other hand allow for custom rules, which enable players to enjoy more relaxed battles. Friend matches / Xbox Live Party allows users to invite online challengers.

Meanwhile, the Mission Mode provides players with three challenging objectives to help them practice in order to improve their fighting skills. In Time Attack, players will be tasked with beating all the CPU-controlled characters as fast as they possibly can to record the best time. Trial Mode has players taking on special challenges for each character.

As for Survival, this mode challenges players to see how many CPU-controlled characters they can defeat before their life gauge reaches zero. There’s even a Tutorial mode for those that are new to the series. Other modes that will be featured in the console version of The King of Fighters XIII include Replay, Gallery, Practice, Versus and Customize.

The game itself will come with a roster of more than 30 hand-drawn fighters, more than half a dozen play modes, a number of detailed stages, an improved online mode and various tweaks and enhancements. Will you be buying The King of Fighters XIII game?
