Retro gaming is becoming a big business recently as many gamers like to relive their younger days. With a lot of these games the graphics may not be anyway near today’s standards, but it’s the game play of old classics that proves successful. Today we can tell you about Enduro 1.0, the retro Atari 2600 racing game for iPhone.

Released by Nemo Games, Enduro has been recreated for all Atari and retro gaming fans. Players have to race their car in the National Enduro, which is a long distance type of race. The idea is to pass a certain amount of cars each day. You must avoid hitting other cars as you speed along to your goal.

On the first day of racing you must successfully pass 180 cars, and then 280 for each following day. The game was made famous back in the 1980s on the much loved Atari 2600 system. As you progress in the game you will find the visibility changing. At night all you will see is tail lights from the other cars.

There are also hazards associated with the weather, where players may encounter icy patches or fog. Added to the original game is OpenFeint for online scores. Enduro 1.0 is available worldwide on the App Store for only $0.99/£0.59. iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch required with iOS 3.0 or later. See the game in action in the video below.

Retro gaming is becoming a big market these days, and if you have good memories of Atari’s old 2600 system, 100 classic titles have just landed on the App Store.

Aemon Malone from Digital Trends is reporting in an article that Atari has put 100 of its classic games, and put them on the App Store as a Greatest Hits collection app.

This application is free to download and you will get a free copy of Pong. Other titles have to be purchased via the in-app payment system.

The full collection includes 92 games from the classic Atari 2600 console, and eighteen arcade titles. They are sold in packs of three or four at $0.99, or you can get the whole collection for $14.99. A selection of the games has Bluetooth support so you can play your friends.

Some of the games in the collection include Missile Command, Super Breakout, and Centipede 2600. A few major games missing though include Pac-Man and Pitfall. Atari have included different versions of certain games to keep the Atari fan happy. The application is available worldwide on the App Store.

The retro market is increasing with the news yesterday about the relaunched Commodore 64, which although will have modern tech inside, will still be able to play some of those classic titles.

Will you be purchasing any of the Atari Games?
