The 2011 Computex computer expo only kicked off a couple of days ago, and ASUS has already managed to introduce a number of new products including the PadFone, the ROG G53SX gaming notebook, the ASUS Eee PC X101 notebook and most recently, the ASUS Eee PC 1025C netbook.

According to a recent article over on the techinstyle.tv website, the ASUS Eee PC 1025C will ship with the brand new Intel Cedar Trail Atom processor, which is based on 32nm process technology. The CPU has full support for Blu-ray 2.0, higher clock speeds, full support for DirectX 10.1 and HD decoding.

The ASUS Eee PC 1025C also comes with a 10.1-inch display with a 1024 x 600 resolution, a 0.3-megapixel camera and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, HDMI, audio jacks, a card reader and USB 2.0. As Peter Cartwright at netbooknews.com notes, it also features up to 2GB of DDR3 RAM and up to 500GB hard drive.

There are in fact two models available: the ASUS Eee PC 1025C and the 1025CE. The 1025CE is said to be higher end, with a metal finish as opposed to the plastic finish on the C. According to lilliputing.com, the 1025C will be available in black, gray, white, brown, pink, blue and red.

With Computex 2011 underway we have already seen plenty of notebook unveiled including the impressive ASUS UX21, now we have an ASUS netbook to tell you about, this is the Asus Eee PC X101.

Let’s start with a breakdown of technical specifications, we do not have a full list but we can confirm that the X101 features an Intel Atom N435 (1.33GHz) processor, WiFi b/g/n, a 10.1-inch display which supports a resolution of 1024 x 600 and a 2600mAh battery. Engadget‘s video (embedded at the end of this post) also shows that there are 2 x USB ports and a microSD memory card slot, we also get to look at the well-spaced QWERTY keyboard and large trackpad.

In terms of software there are two versions to choose from, you can either choose MeeGo or Windows 7, however as Microsoft’s OS requires a license it will be more expensive than the $200 MeeGo variant. The Windows 7 option has a slightly different model number (X101H) and comes with a hybrid hard drive.

The video below shows us a good-look at its physical design, you immediately see just how thin it is for a netbook, also we are informed that it is available in different colors. It is not as thin as the 11-inch MacBook Air but weighs less (950g) and costs significantly less, that said you cannot really compare the devices in terms of performance.

Sadly the video did not show us too much about the MeeGo operating system, usually the software determines whether a device will be a success or not, therefore we will have to keep you posted when we get to see a more in-depth look at the OS.

Will you buy the ASUS Eee PC X101?

For those of you who take a particular liking to ASUS’ collection of Eee PC devices, you’ll be interested to know that some fresh details have appeared for their latest addition, the Eee PC 1015PW.

As reported from Engadget, it is thought the main specs will be similar to the 1015PEM model, but thanks to the provided picture from Engadget, the 1015PW will come with a stylish splash of purple.

The main specs of the upcoming refresh will include a 10.1-inch LED-backlit display screen, a dual-core 1.5GHz Intel Atom N550 processor, a choice of a 250GB or 320GB hard drive and the usual Bluetooth, and WiFi offerings.

We have no idea when this will come to market, or what kind of price it will command, but Engadget hint that it will probably see a release in Europe first, then hit the US afterwards.

Looking for a netbook which is more powerful than most competitors? If so, you may want to check out the new ASUS Eee PC 1015PN, unlike most netbooks if offers full 1080p HD video capabilities.

This netbook features a dual-core Atom N550 (1.50 GHz) processor, NVIDIA Ion 2 graphics, 1GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, a 10.1-Inch LED display supporting a resolution of 1024X600 and Windows 7 Starter Edition.

Other specs worth mentioning include a 0.3 megapixel webcam, VGA out, HDMI out (as previously mentioned), 3 x USB 2.0 ports and 9.5 hours of battery life. This impressive battery life should still be great when carrying out graphically intensive tasks thanks to NVIDIA Optimus technology.

There is no denying that sales of new netbooks will be seriously affected by the recent release of the Apple iPad, and this is just the first wave of attacks from tablet devices. Netbooks still have some fight left though – but we are uncertain if the ASUS’ 10-inch Eee PC T101MT with its lack of multitouch support is one of them.

We know how popular the iPad device is, but we its lack of Flash Player support and other key features needed to perform day-to-day tasks – people will keep on buying netbooks. This is great news for the likes of ASUS and other computer makers.

Engadget reports that the ASUS Eee PC T101MT is finally available to purchase, but as it only comes installed with Windows 7 Starter OS, it lacks that much-needed multitouch support. However, you should not have to wait long until the Windows 7 Premium version becomes available.

The Asus Eee PC T101MT-EU17-BK will cost you $511.82 from Amazon, visit their website for specs and full details.
