Aston Martin Lagonda: Revived for 100th anniversary
Aston Martin is all set to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Lagonda. Enthusiasts of the much loved car will be there to celebrate, but Aston Martin has something special planned for the event.
To commemorate the long-dormant marque, the car maker is to revive the Lagonda. One thing that I do not understand, Lagonda celebrated their 100th anniversary two years ago, so why is Aston Martin celebrating it next year.
Lagonda was produced independently until 1947, after which Aston Martin bought them out. Aston Martin will show of the new Lagonda next year at the Geneva Motor Show.
Aston Martin One-77: Cost £1.2 million

Aston Martin has announced that they are to build a new super-exclusive coupe car; it will be codenamed One-77. The new car will launch in late 2009 and comes with a prices tag of £1.2 million.
Those who put their money down to get their hands on the Aston Martin One-77, will get the opportunity to become involved in the design and development process. Owners will have access to the automakers top designers and engineers, their cars will be minutely tailored to their own requirements.
David Richards, Aston chairman has said “It’s a very special car for customers who want to take the bespoke experience to a higher level. Every car will be entirely individual.”
Aston Martin has said that they have identified the “500 or so” people likely to be attracted to a car. The automaker will take demonstration cars to them, instead of them having to travel to the showroom.
The Aston Martin One-77 coupe will be made from hand-formed aluminum panels and a carbon fiber monocoque chassis. The engine will be a re-engineered, 7.0-litre version of the current V12, which produces about 650bhp. This should be enough to take the car to over 220mph.
