After receiving numerous delays, we’re glad to see that Ubisoft has now slapped a release date for PC gamers. If you’re in Europe, you’ll be able to buy or download the game on March 18th, while US gamers will get it slightly later on March 22nd.

You may not realise it, but there’s actually four different versions of AC: Brotherhood to choose from upon release. CVG’S report here has full details on what is contained in each version, so head to their report if you intend on picking up a more premium copy of the game.

Along with a release date, Ubisoft has also confirmed the minimum PC specs which you’ll need to have in order to play it. The minimum processor is either an Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHZ or AMD Athlon X2 64 2.4GHZ chipset, while you’ll also need to have at least 1.5GB – 2GB of RAM spare.

Now it appears that Ubisoft has just announced that another DLC pack is on its way. According to a recent article by Liam Martin over at digitalspy.co.uk, the new pack – entitled “The Da Vinci Disappearance” – will be available on the PSN and Xbox Live at the beginning of March.

Although we don’t actually have a confirmed price for the PlayStation Network as of yet, we do know that the DLC pack will cost 800 Microsoft Points from Xbox Live. The pack will contain both single and multiplayer content, as well as new achievements.

“The Da Vinci Disappearance” DLC will also feature brand new characters – the Knight, the Pariah, the Marquis and Dama Rossa. The new single player mode will have players trying to rescue a kidnapped Leonardo Da Vinci, who has been taken by an underground cult.

As Mike Sharkey over on the gamespy.com website recently reported, the new content will also provide players with a brand new multiplayer map called Alhambra, which is said to be set in Spain’s Albaicin of Granada and includes multi-leveled indoor and outdoor areas.

What is different about the game after today’s DLC? Eurogamer.com’s Robert Purchese back on November 24th said that the patch adds on twists to the existing Alliance multiplayer mode and turns it into an advanced Alliance.

There is a new map called Mont Saint Michel which seems to be the perfect hunting ground for you to roam with its bell tower and narrow streets. The best bit is it’s free! All great stuff but we wanted to tell you that following today’s update there will be another one in January as confirmed by Ubisoft.

In the next DLC there will be another new map set in a town called Pienza, a picturesque town in the Italian hilltops. They will also be introducing another game mode that sees you protecting and stealing boxes from opposing assassins. It is appropriately named… Chest Capture Multiplayer Mode.

You may think it’s slightly odd that Raiden would feature in Assassin’s Creed, but the clip is pretty awesome to say the least. Raiden won’t feature in the main single-player campaign, instead you’ll have to unlock him in the Animus’ new virtual training mode.

Once you have completed a series of tasks in these missions, you’ll see that Raiden is the last unlockable reward, and to give you a bit of motivation, Ubisoft has released a teaser showing how Raiden looks in the game.

For those of you that are wondering, it’s not the first time that a MGS character has been hidden away in a non-Metal Gear game, as you may remember us telling you how you could unlock a Solid Snake skin in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. Don’t forget that you could also play as Snake on Super Smash Bros on the Wii – oh the memories.

If you are a fan of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, you’ll be pleased to hear that Kmart will be offering the latest game, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood for just $39.99 on Thanksgiving Day – Thursday 25th November. Just to remind you, the game was only released on Tuesday November 16th, but Kmart are already offering an instant $20 discount off the original price.

Some of the first reviews have now started to come in, and things look good. NeoSeeker has now spent some time with Brotherhood to see if it can hold up to the previous game. The moment you start to play the game you will feel as if you have never been away, and the story swaping from Ezio and Desmond certainly makes to story telling interesting to say the least.

As with all games from this franchise you will shift from present day and back to the past, which has to be one of the greatest draws of the game. Ubisoft has done what Treyarch could not manage with COD Black Ops, and that is to improve on the game visually. However, we have to point out that graphics is a more important feature for this game rather than the latest from the Call of Duty franchise.

NeoSeeker concluded in their review that the story is an obscure one, but will be loved by newbie’s to the game and returning fans. However, they do pick up on what fact about the ending, that it is much better than Assassin’s Creed 2 and the game itself is “terribly addicting and refreshingly unique.”

They have given the game 9.5 out of 10, would you agree with that score?

We have embedded their review video at the end of this post, on the whole GameTrailers seem happy with the game, however there are some obvious imperfections. Apparently visuals sometimes look dated and there are obvious texture issues, also the frame rate sometimes jumps all over the place.

In terms of realism Brotherhood’s 3D environemnts are said to be true to what Rome would have really looked like, also GameTrailers were impressed by the voice acting, gameplay, brutal counter-kills and orchestrial music, also they suggest that recruiting and developing Assassin’s is more enjoyable than what it sounds.

It looks as if the campaign is the most exciting part of this game, some people will love the mutliplayer modes, however hardcore gamers may become frustrated with its randomness.

GameTrailers score the game 8.2 for its story, 9.1 for its design, 9.0 for its gameplay and 8.8 for ots presentation, this averages out to roughly 8.7/10, however they give it an overall score of 9.0/10.

So far we do not have reviews from the leading review sites out there (IGN and GameStop etc), however we have seen promising signs from T3, Game Informer and an Italian mag called Play Generation.

According to Metacritic (here) the upcoming December issue of Game Informer scores Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood 93/100, they say that “The moment you finish the game, you’ll be chomping at the bit for the inevitable Assassin’s Creed III”.

The Italian magazine Play Generation give Brotherhood a score of 92%, compared to ACII the visuals are better and the game is longer, to sum thins up they say that Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is “the best Creed yet”, you can read a little bit more about their review here.

Finally according to CVG the latest issue of the T3 magazine scores the game 5/5 they also say that it is the best Creed yet and were impressed by how well it has been executed, and suggest that the game play is epic and surprising.

To be honest with you these reviews pretty much prove that the game is not going to be a flop, therefore I would definitely check it out, the previous Assassin’s Creed games have been great in my opinion, and to hear that Brotherhood is the best Creed yet suggests that gamers are in for a real treat.

As reported from Eurogamer, the DLC pack will be titled Copernicus Conspiracy and it will be able to download from the Playstation Store, the same day the game launches on November 19th.

Best of all, this exclusive DLC is free and it will add a few extra missions that gamers won’t get on the Xbox 360. We don’t have specific details on the DLC yet, but Ubisoft states that it will offer ”courier, assassination and protection” type missions from a Renaissance astronomer called Copernicus.

When I started to play Assassin’s Creed 2 on my PlayStation 3 I could tell from the start that it seemed rushed, so is nice to know that Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood will have more attention to detail – just hope that it is not too late and fans of the franchise have not walked away.

IGN Australia has been talking to those involved in the design of the new game and believes that both version of the game on Xbox 360 and the PS3 is on a level playing field – we just wonder how true that is? (View gameplay video).

This seems to be the case with many games these days, we only have to look at F1 2010; readers have commented on how much better the graphics are on this racing sim compared to that of the PS3.
