Now before you get to excited this may be another cruel hoax, but according to the press release doing the rounds the game will be coming to the Android platform on March 27th, and will be available as a free download. This is where the confusion starts as previously the Temple Run team took to its official Facebook page to warn of all the fake versions being made available, but also mentioned they would announce the release date news there and give at least a week’s notice.

At the time of writing there is no update on the Facebook page as well as anything on any other social networking platforms such as Twitter. The game was originally promised for February but as the company stated it is taking longer than expected. Hopefully in the coming hours the team behind the popular game will update their Facebook page with all the relevant information one way or the other.

If the press release is genuine users of the Android platform have another three weeks to wait before being able to join their friends already playing the game via their iOS devices. Update: The release date has now been made official on Facebook. Are you looking forward to Temple Run?

There is also a built-in timer, recipes can be shared via email and Facebook, ingredient calculator based on number of servings, menu planner, favorites list, and shopping list generation. The game has been launched by EA for the US App Store, and will offer fans a first person shooter game and the chance to enjoy online multiplayer gaming for free. But as Cult of Mac is reporting it’s not the game everyone was hoping to see.

For starters there is only one map on offer with only five different weapons to pick from, with one of them needing unlocking. The game seems like it is a promotional release for Act of Valor instead of a complete game, and also only gives users a very short taste of online gaming.

There are not any attempts to try and get users to make loads of in-app purchases though, but will leave some Battlefield 3 fans disappointed. When news of the app first came to light last year many were expecting a nice campaign with plenty of multiplayer game modes, and be a direct sequel to Battlefield 2 for iOS.

The game does have some nice graphics and a good control system, but the rest of it leaves you feeling a little deflated. It will also often frustrate you as well as it can take ages to find a game, and even when you finally do you will either get kicked out before or just after you start playing.

But if you are lucky and manage to stay in the game you will soon become annoyed by the lag. Many of these problems are occurring because the game is new, and will probably get sorted in the coming days. There is a great level of potential with the game and the control system is great, which as many fans of this type of game know, is very important.

According to an article over at Forbes General Motors is bringing iPad/Android functionality to your car, which will allow you customize your car’s interior features. The new system is based on a center column display panel, which unlike BMW’s hard to work iDrive, is quick and intuitive to use.

It allows you to sync your smartphone and slide applications around just like you may already be doing on your handset or tablet. Navigating through this using the controls that are mounted on the steering wheel will let you raise audio volume, make calls etc.

But the really clever thing is that you can do more than just customize the center panel, which is basically a fixed in tablet situated above your heater controls. Functions can also be slided onto the screen located behind the steering wheel.

People who love their analog gauges will hate it, but it provides a blank canvas for you to create a variety of display layouts. This could lead to more specific car applications that could help you improve better mileage from your fuel, or highlight places on interest based on GPS data. The possibilities are endless as we further interact with our cars, and GM cold be leading the way.

Christmas Coloring For Kids 1.0 has been released by Internet Design Zone, and is available for owners of the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. This fun application has been designed for kids to play with this holiday season as they color their favorite Christmas characters and objects. Users will now be able to catch up with all their favorite TV and radio shows that have already been shown by the broadcaster.

If you are listening to the radio you will also be able to complete other tasks while the app runs in the background. David Madden from the BBC said “We want to make it a better and easier experience to catch up on your favorite programmes wherever you are”.

Some of the applications features include a live channel switcher that allows users to easily flick between channels. They can also tap the Live Channels button while watching content to see what is showing on other channels. It is hoped the app will launch globally by the end of the year.

If you have a device that is running iOS 5 or later you can connect your device to a TV via Apple’s AirPlay feature. Users also have the option of streaming content via Wi-Fi or 3G as well. The BBC has also announced that 3G streaming will soon be rolled out to the mobile web version of the iPlayer for all supported devices.

Meanwhile Android users can look forward to get a dedicated app to access the BBC iPlayer as it has been confirmed it is currently being worked on. Currently they are working on improving the video playback experience and adding 3G streaming. The Android version is expected to be released in the New Year.

It not only provides any national severe weather alerts, but also has five day forecasts with daily national and regional forecasts.

For users of the Android platform we have a free application called UK Weather. This application offers accurate weather forecasts with rain radar displays using data from the Met Office. Users can get information for their local town or city along with any weather warnings issued by the Met Office.

There are also official maps from the Met Office that cover your location and the whole of the UK. Users are provided with detailed five day forecasts, and the rain radar, visible cloud, and infrared cloud are projected onto Google Maps. The Weather Channel app is available free of charge for both the Android and iOS platforms that promises the most accurate weather information available. Besides severe weather alerts for your location you are provided with hourly and ten day forecasts. This educational application has been designed for children between the ages of three to ten, and captures the magic of Santa Claus and his helpful elves. It is currently being offered free until the end of this year and has been enhanced to include interactive learning features.

The application is a festive addition in an award winning lineup of interactive storybooks, and features great animations and beautiful artwork. This will bring the magic of the holiday season to your little ones fingertips. There is both audio narration and on screen text included in the app allowing children to read the story, or have it read to them.

On top of this there is interactive learning features that include touch pronunciation, which once a word is touched is spoken with the word’s definition and its opposite given. Another feature is show me that gives an illustration to represent a word. All features are easily accessed by the simple to use interface that has been designed with small fingers in mind.

The application has now become a regular thing for Apple and is available in the UK App Store now, and according to The Next Web will soon be available in other parts of Europe and Canada. From December 26th right the way through until January 6th 2012, users will be offered new gifts and goodies every day.

Currently the applications contents are not known, but going on what has been on offer from Apple in previous offerings there will be some nice free goodies available. Users can expect to receive some free apps, songs, videos, and books as a gift from Apple.

In the past there have been some free episodes of The Big Bang Theory, Mad Men, along with music tracks from the likes of Kings of Leon. Other freebies have included Diner Dash and Fishing Kings applications as well.

Surprisingly there are a variety of countries that will miss out on this Christmas cheer from Apple including the US. But all is not lost though as Apple is promising users in these areas a “special gift for their computers” on Boxing Day, December 26th.
