As soon as Apple bring out a new product speculation starts almost straight away what the next version will be like. We have already had talk about the next iPhone, now there are rumors of a new iPad.

David Murphy of PCMAG is reporting in an article that sources have been telling Apple Insider, that Apple is already working on a new version of the iPad. Some of the new features are Apple’s Facetime video chat, and the new device is said to be 9.5 by 7.5- inch.

This will mean any new iPad will need a front facing camera like the ones found on the iPhone 4, and the new iPod Touch. According to the sources testing is already at the advanced stage, in readiness of a release in the first quarter of 2011 at the latest. But Apple is trying to up production speed of the new device to have it on the shelves for the 2010 holiday season.

If this does happen it will see a break in the usual yearly cycle for Apple products, and the current iPad isn’t exactly a slouch with over 3.27 million sold as of late July. One reason that Apple could be pushing for this release time is the fact they want to integrate Facetime into its devices, before releasing the service as an open standard.

Competition in the Tab market is set to heat up over the coming months, with device’s such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab due for release. Time will tell if we see any release in time for the holiday season. Would you like to see a new iPad before Christmas?

The Apple press event is all people can talk about today, and the big device that is rumored to be launched today is their tablet PC, which many are calling the iTablet. Apple is always great at keeping secrets, but not publishing giant McGraw-Hill.

While speaking on CNBC, the chairman of the publishing firm said that they had worked with Apple for years and that they will announce a tablet at the event today. He said that it will run on iPhone OS so will be transferable.

Letting this slip will not please Steve Jobs, we wonder what the CEO has done for McGraw-Hill to let this bug secret out?

Not much is known about this latest devcie, we know that it will come with a 7 to 10-inch OLED or LCD display. It looks as though the devcie will also get a front-facing camera, ideal for video chat.

There are more unanswered than answered questions, such as what will the OS be, the smart money is on a new Apple iPhone OS 4.0.

If this is this case, then will the current iPhone apps be able to run on the tablet or will they need to be updated?

We mentioned that the Apple Tablet PC will have access to mobile data, but will the iPhone maker choose AT&T or Verizon? Then again they could open it up to all cell phone carriers, T-Mobile and Sprint included.

What other questions have been left unanswered, and what do you expect from this latest Apple device?

While most of you are expecting the Apple Tablet PC to be officially announced later today, we have yet more reports of a confirmed release, this time from an Apple Tablet partner.

According to this article from Gizmodo, Harold McGraw III from McGraw-Hill confirmed that the Tablet device is indeed coming, adding that the device will feature an iPhone-style OS, even dubbing the device ‘terrific’.

Interestingly, McGraw also concedes that he’ll ‘never’ work for Apple again, which will probably be the case anyway, once they find out he has spoken out on the Tablet.

So if you’re thinking of picking up a Tablet, you can be assured that you’ll be able to transfer all of your essential iPhone data over to the tablet, while e-book lovers are set to be in for a treat too with full features likely to be available upon purchase.

Are you looking forward to Apple’s Press Conference later today? Read more information on this story over at Gizmodo.

French site Nowhereelse.fr posted what looks to be a commercial of the rumored Apple Tablet PC, which could be unveiled at tomorrow’s Press Event. We are more than certain that the commercial is a spoof, but it does make you wonder what the official Tablet PC commercial may look like.

For those who thought that the ad was real, you only have to look at past Apple commercials to see that you are being misled. Watching the video you can clearly see that certain things have been recycled to make it look as though Apple made it themselves.

Some people were taken in, that is until we saw the tablet in the ad running on OS X. This is certainly not going to be the operating system, we have mentioned on a number of occasions that a new version of the iPhone OS will run the device.

Anyway we are going of track here a little, Apple would not release a commercial before Steve Jobs has taken to the stage to show off his new device. The tablet that we are likely to see will not have a load of ports; it will probably have just the basics just like the MacBook Air does.

When Apple does unveil their tablet device, how do you think their commercial will look?

There is no getting away from the constant rumors of an Apple Tablet PC, which has been dubbed the iSlate, iTablet and iPad. Retailers have been giving their opinion as to the effects that it will have on netbooks. There are those who say that there are two factors involved, the hardware and the price.

Well we do not have to worry about the hardware side of things as we know that Apple are on top of their game in that department. However, when it comes to pricing, the iPhone maker seems to be living on a different planet, although this has never stopped strong sales and huge profits.

Price is still key though and according to T3.com will be most important to online retailers. If Apple do announce its new Tablet PC at their Press Event tomorrow then users will have a choice of two small devices this year, the other is the three-year-old netbook.

We now wonder if the netbook has had its time and that the Tablet will take its place this year. If the launch of a number of tablet devices were anything to go by at CES 2010, then there is certainly some truth in that statement.

T3.com expects tomorrow’s announcement to have a huge effect on netbook sales. Microsoft was due to launch their tablet, the Courier but has decided to back the HP device instead. Not the battle that we had hoped to see, so it looks as though Apple will have no serious competition.

The worlds biggest contract maker of mobile phones, Foxconn is set to announce a huge decline in profits, the largest in ten months. However, we wonder if Apple were to launch their Tablet PC, would this send Foxconn shares soaring?

You might remember in an article that we wrote in October that DigiTimes reported that Foxconn had won the order to become the maker of the rumored Apple Tablet PC. It was said that the new device would be launched in Q1 of 2010, which does fit with recent rumors of a March release.

The rumored iTablet/iSlate maker has seen an 8.7 percent drop in shares, which now stand at HK$8.08 each. This is their largest decline since March 2009. According to BusinessWeek, the reason for the decline in profits was due to the global recession last year, one that Apple has been able to battle through following their profit increase that we reported yesterday.

Tomorrow, Wednesday January 27, 2010 will be the day that Apple holds their Press Event; this is when we hope to see their tablet PC launched. If the recent rumors were true that Foxconn were to get the manufacturing contract, then we need to keep a close eye on their shares, as it could grow just as the iPhone maker’s have.

Do you think we will see an Apple Tablet PC and will it be able to turn around Foxconn’s fortunes, if they are the maker?

A few months back we reported that Apple could launch two versions of its Tablet PC. We first assumed that one would have higher specs that the other, but we now have reason to believe that they will both feature the same hardware, but with one difference, one will be on AT&T and the other on Verizon.

There would need to be one hardware change, AT&T uses the GSM network whereas Verizon Wireless uses CDMA. So could these be the two versions we have been hearing about? However, would there be enough demand for the Apple Tablet PC to warrant launching two versions at the same time?

PC World has been looking into this and believes that there could just be one version of the Apple tablet, which has been dubbed the iSlate, iTablet or iPad and will be able to run both AT&T and Verizon networks together.

We could all be jumping the gun a bit here, Apple might announce the tablet device at their press event on Wednesday, but will wait until a later date to announce it’s pricing. They could take that opportunity to speak more with the likes of AT&T and Verizon.

We would like to know if there were two Apple Tablet PCs, what version would sell more, Verizon or AT&T and what one would you choose?

When it comes to the rumored Apple Tablet PC, which could be unveiled at their press event next week, many of us are not thinking big enough. We know how popular the device will be, but according to some, the device will be far more important than we could imagine.

When talk first started about Apple’s tablet device we had all assumed that it was to just be an eReader, but it has moved on since then. Not only will you be able to read electronic books, but also play games, listen to music, run programs and even browse the Internet through a mobile data network.

There have been so many renders and mockups of the new tablet device, but we are not going to know what it looks like until January 27, 2010. Apple are very clever, like Dell, HP and Sony, they have listened to the consumer, but it is only the iPhone maker that looks set to give them what they want.

Looking at a recent article on the Guardian, one of their readers said, if you are looking at the new tablet PC as an oversized iPhone or an eReader, then you need to start thinking much bigger. Let us not lose sight of anything, this latest gadget from Apple is not going to change the world and a lot can go wrong, such as its price, there are rumors that this could be from $600 to $1000. If the price were nearer the latter, then Apple would have shot themselves in the foot.

What are your expectations on the rumored Apple Tablet PC?

Following on from our report yesterday, which informed you about Gawker’s Apple Tablet ‘Scavenger Hunt’, Apple has responded almost immediately with a letter threatening to take action against them if they publicly disclose information about the Tablet.

If you head over to BGR, you’ll be able to see a full transcript of the letter. This letter pretty much confirms the existance of the Apple Tablet, just in case you were yet to believe all the recent hype and speculation.

As for the contents of the letter though, Apple tells Gawker that they have ‘crossed the line’ and that the whole process of their ‘Scavenger Hunt’, ‘constitutes Apple’s trade secrets’. It even contains the words, ‘highly confidental Apple product’.

Will Gawker bow down and remove the cash bounty though? It will be interesting to see if they stand firm on this. We’ll keep you updated on progress.
