Apple has been busy today offering updates on two products while launching a totally new one. Some of you may wonder where the new Apple Mac Pro 2010line is? We can inform you that the update is coming, but will not be available until next month.

The Mac Pro range is the most powerful from the troubled iPhone 4 maker and shows that they are still committed to the desktop powerhouse. The new range will finally give you the chance to own a computer with dual-CPU rigs offering 12 cores in total from the Intel Xeon range.

However, there is a downside, as this comes at a price – $4,999 to be precise. If this is too much for you, then the range will start from 2,499. The upgrades are not all about the processor, you need a powerful GPU, and the Radeon HD 5770 should be more than up for the job.

With that kind of power requires a serious amount of memory, the new Mac Pro 2010 lineup now offers up to 32GB of RAM as well as up to 4TB of storage. If money is no object, then you should consider an upgrade to SSD – offering faster speeds and more reliability.

We have some interesting news for Mac fans now, as we are hearing rumors that Apple may be preparing to give the Mac Pro a most welcome upgrade next week. Anyone fancy some Core i7 processors?

According to this report from BGR, their sources have told them that future Mac Pro systems will be upgraded with Intel Core i7-980x processors, the latest version of the Core i7 series.

Specific features of the Core i7-980x include 6 cores consisting of 3.33GHz with TurboBoost to 3.6GHz, 12 threads of processing power, a 32nm architecture, Socket LGA1366 and 130W TDP.

Those are some frightening specs you have to agree, so lets hope the March 16th date is real. Let us know your thoughts on this.
