It is no secret that Dell wants to move into the personal media player business, this could be as early as September. Dell hopes that they will then be able to do battle with the likes of the Apple iPod. The Wall Street Journal newspaper cited many Dell officials by saying, Dell has been testing a digital music player and that it could go on sale as early as September.
Dell have a mountain to climb if they wish to topple iPods dominance in the media player market, many players from companies such as Microsoft and Sony have tried and failed.
The music player that Dell has been testing is said to have a small navigation screen, as well as basic button controls so that you can navigate through the music list.
The Wall Street Journal also reports that the Dell player will be able to connect online through a Wi-Fi connection. The price of the Player is likely to be in the region of $100, that around £50.
Let us hope that Dell do a better job that their last effort back in 2003. The DJ Ditty player was a huge disappointment, as it failed to impress the market.

Playing Nintendo Wii on a 60GB Apple iPod
May 23, 2008 by Peter

How would you like to be able to play your Nintendo Wii on your Apple iPod, well one guy has managed to get his Wii working on a 60GB iPod. I know that there are cries from so many people out there saying, why on earth would I want to play a Nintendo Wii which I can play on my big screen TV, just to play it on a 3 inch screen. So many people have moaned about this pointless exercise, some are even saying that they think that it is in fact a fake video.
Most people, who have seen this video, reckon than someone has just made a video of a Nintendo Wii menu and are just playing it through their iPod. If it is in fact real then well done to the guy who did it, however I have to stress that it is a pointless exercise. If you head over to Gametrailers, they have this video which has received to over 270 comments, most of them are not positive. One comment has said that the Wii is not even on, so how can he be playing it through his Apple iPod. Another comment has raised a good point, how can he be using the Wii Remote when there is not an IR sensor in sight.
What I would like to say is, for this to work you would have to do some serious modifications on both the Nintendo Wii and the Apple iPod, there would also have to be a huge amount of cables to get this to work, and I can’t see any in this video.
So you choose for yourself, real or fake?

Many gadget buyers have heard of the Star Wars “R2D2 Projector”, but as technology keeps moving it looks like this device has been upgraded to the R3-D2 with Apple iPod support. The new limited Edition model features the ability to connect many move devices including iPod’s, game consoles, USB drives, flash memory cards and many other devices with video content on them.
The Star Wars movies have lasted decades and there is still no end in sight to fans continuing to follow Star Wars, so it looks like we will see many other gadgets in this theme and the R2-D2 Projector will continue to be popular. We saw the previous model at a gadget event last year and it did look impressive, but the limited edition model has so much more. Other improvements include the ability to project a screen up to 260 inches wide, an amazing 1800:1 contrast ratio, 1800 lumens brightness and built-in virtual surround sound.
Star Wars gadgets like this do not come cheap and you can expect to pay around €2,799.00 at Exclusive StarWars (hit the read link below this post), even if you have the money, its limited to just 4000 units and only available in Europe. One other feature I will mention is that the R3-D2 is motorized; you can tilt it to the ceiling to watch movies while lying down or in bed.
