After all of the delays so far for Apple’s new 5th generation iPod Touch, we’re pleased to say that it now looks like Apple are ready to ship units to those that pre-ordered at the first opportunity.

If you head to the Apple Store now and try to order an iPod Touch 5G from the US store, you’ll be greeted with a rather disappointing ship date of ‘October’, with Apple unable to give a solid release date due to high demand.

However, we’ve now heard that Apple has begun to send out shipping notifications to customers who ordered one on September 14, with an updated status of ‘preparing for shipment’ and Apple starting to take money from credit card orders as well. It goes without saying though that this only applies to those that ordered straight away after Apple’s iPhone 5 event.

If you have only just ordered an iPod Touch 5G recently, then you should expect to wait a lot longer for shipments to arrive, with Apple now changing the October estimation to ‘three weeks’ in some cases. Considering that this is a regular practice for the likes of the iPhone 5 and MacBook products – iPod Touch buyers should really be used to the way Apple manages their shipments with each product release.

We are very surprised though in the sheer demand for the new 5th generation iPod Touch. The fact that it’s available in multiple colors and includes the same 4-inch display as the iPhone 5 really seems to have pushed consumers into a purchase and perhaps those who have already bought one did not expect to see the same shipping delays as we’d usually get with the new iPhone.

Did you order an iPod Touch 5G on September 14? If you did, let us know if you have now started to receive shipping dates from Apple via email.

Many Sony fans disrupted there sleep patterns last night as they stayed up to be amongst the first to hear about the Japan based company’s latest offerings. Their efforts were seemingly worth it as there was a few treats including the announcement that AT&T would get the exclusive obligation of being sole carrier in the U.S for the NGP or what will officially be named the PlayStation Vita.

This news also revealed the official price of the portable console and it’s a competitive one. AT&T will offer the device for $250 for the Wi-Fi only version and will also offer the 3G version for $300. Though this price may seem reasonable to many hardcore gamers, there are some analysts, like Dan Ernst, who believe it is too expensive for the rest of the market

Never the less the pricing has got rivals offering similar gaming devices to the market, like Apple with their iPod Touch and Nintendo with their 3DS, wondering what impact it could have on their sales. The latest iPod devices’ costs start from $229 which is still cheaper and the company is expected to launch their next generation iPod Touch soon.

This also gives Apple the upper hand as they can take the PS Vita’s price into consideration when pricing their new model. Sony will be hoping the launch of their latest PSP will increase their falling sales in the mobile gaming market.

Check out the article at Apple Insider for full details on the competition between Apple’s and Sony’s gaming devices. Which portable gaming device do you prefer?

Billiards is one of those games where you either love it or hate it; there is no sitting on the fence. For those who are fans, then we are almost certain that they have downloaded an app or two from the App Store for their iOS device. Playing these games on the iPhone and iPod Touch was fun, but the small screen did spoil things a little. However, the introduction of the iPad and its larger screen seemed to breath some life into these apps.

While doing some research we found that there is not just billiards apps for gaming, but also those for locating halls for you to play the game for real, as well as details on the history of the game. You will be surprised how many there actually are.

The first app that we have for you is one of the most popular if you are looking to play billiards on your Apple iOS device. Billiards costs just $3.99 and is said to be as easy as playing on your home computer, but for a fraction of the cost. There are five different games to choose from, and we are told that all tables can be customized for your liking.

For those of you who wish to find a billiard hall near you; then maybe you should try iLocate – Billiards. This app costs just $0.99 and has a huge database giving you details of each hall along with directions to them as well, all at the touch of a button. Some of the features include one click contact details, view by list or maps, easy scroll and much more.

Te final app that we have found is all to do with the history of the game; History of Billiards costs just $0.99 and also offers instructions on how to play the game. I am not a billiards player, so was surprised to know that there is more than one version of the game.

For more apps on billiards then visit App Shopper.

The worst part of any job is not the first day, but the interview, and there are those of us who struggle more than others. I have never been that great, as I always seem to forget key questions, and there is nothing like being caught off guard when the interviewer tries to spring a trick question on you. However, those looking for work now have the added advantage of using apps, which helps you to stand out in an interview.

I never had the advantage of apps or even the Internet when I first started work, so I had to rely on help from friends and family members – so just think yourself lucky with the huge number of apps available to you. Having looked on App Shopper we can see that there are all different types of applications just for this job – but choosing the right one is a task in itself.

Here are a few that we think you should consider; the first is one that I think you will warm to the most, as it is free. The ‘Job Interview Guide’ allows you to gain the advantage on some of the other people going for the same job – unless they have this app as well. The application comes with a quick reference guide as well as allowing you to share your tips with friends and family member son Facebook or email. More details can be found here.

‘Job Interview’ is another such app, and is said to be one of the best iPhone coaching tools when it comes to job interviews, but only you will be able to tell us if that is true or not. The price is $3.99 – but well worth the money. More details can be found on App Shopper.

Finally we have ‘Audio Job Interview Professional’, and for just $0.99 offers great value for money. This app was updated just two days ago, and allows you to record your interview. This is good for you to go over how you thought the interview went and maybe improve on key areas. More details.

What tips do you have for our readers when it comes to acing that job interview?

With iOS 4.2 successfully rolled out, we are now beginning to get excited about the release of iOS 4.3, but what new features and functionality would you want this to bring your iPhone / iPad / iPod Touch?

It is thought that iOS 4.3 may be released in just a couple of weeks time, therefore it would be fair to say that it may not be a substantial update, obviously there will be some security improvements and bug fixes, however I’m sure that Apple will want to make this update well-worth installing, therefore may throw in some nice new features.

It is thought that the main change will be a payment system for magazine and newspaper subscriptions, this will undoubtedly be popular with iPad owners and will apparently dispatch publications to iPads and similar devices automatically.

We would love to hear what our readers want iOS 4.3 to bring, obviously it wont improve the iPhone 4′s reception, nor will it magically turn the smartphone from black to white, but it could make your iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch even better than it already is.

What new features/functionality would you like to see iOS 4.3 bring?

Have you ever wanted to turn your Apple iPhone or iPod Touch into an Air Mouse? Well Movea has the answer with their new app, and it can be yours for just $1.99 from iTunes. The app can only be used on the iPhone 4 and the fourth-generation iPod Touch, so you will be able to show all those you know with an older iOS device how you now have an in-air motion controller.

The reason why only the 4th generation iOS devices can be used is because of their gyroscope and Wi-Fi connectivity; how cool will it be to control your media device from the comfort of your couch? Not only that, but the Movea app will make it possible for you to make media presentations at work or even at school.

With a Wi-Fi range of more than 100-feet, you will have a freedom to do so much with this latest app for your iPhone 4 or iPod Touch 4G. There are many apps that promise to help make your iPhone more than it is, well this is one of the few that delivers on that promise.

This is not the only app available from Movea, another is MotionTools; some of the features of this app include: Dynamic display scroll, Presentation tools, Internet, and other application hotkeys. For more details on this visit Engadget or Movea.

When it comes to the new Apple iPad 2 there are two questions that needs to be answered, when is the release date and what will it look like? Well, hopefully we will be able to help you with both of those questions, and it looks as though the tablet device will follow the same cycle as the iPhone and the iPod Touch.

Frankkobola from Digital Trends has learned that April looks to be the month that Apple will release its new iPad, which is the same month that the current iPad was released. This news comes from information gathered by ComputerWorld, who had spoken to Gleacher & Co analyst Brian Marshall.

None of us know if Apple will stick with the same basic design of the iPad or make a few changes? We recently reported that changes could be made to the display, and we hope that it will come with a camera and FaceTime. However, we now have reason to believe that it could also be made from something different.

According to an article from Apple Insider, which we found via Ubergizmo, it looks as though the next-gen iPad could have a carbon fiber shell. The reason for this is to help improve reception – I am sure that I have heard that before – and help reduce some weight.

We already know that Apple is ready for the new iPad 2, as TV advertisements have already been shot, the only thing left is to add the new tablet device once they have been designed – which we believe Apple has already done.

If you have been experiencing problems with Geohot’s Limera1n jailbreak we have some good news for you, the ChronicDevTeam has today launched the Greenpois0n jailbreak for iPhone 4 and iOS 4.1.

They revealed this in a tweet earlier today, sadly only the Windows version is up at the moment, however there is a Mac version being developed which will be coming soon.

You can download the Greenpois0n jailbreak here, the download itself is just 347kb in size and contains one exe, you can see a screenshot from the app at the end of this post.

The Greenpois0n jailbreak works with iPhone 4, iPhone 3G S, iPod touch (4th and 3rd Gen) and iPad, if you are using Greenpois0n on your iPhone 4 running iOS 4.1 you must use TinyUmbrella (here) to preserve your baseband.

For those of you who would like to own a new Apple iPod Touch 4G but would like something a little different, then Colorware could be the solution. We have seen in the past that the company will take your device and transform it for you – maybe you might want to go white like iPhone 4 fans have been waiting for?

Its no secret that when it comes to the color choice, all Apple give you is one. With Colorware you can choose from a huge range of different colors or if you do not like any, then why not suggest your own?

That’s the good news out of the way, now for the bad. If you send your own new 2010 iPod Touch in, then the cost for the color change is $150. For those who do not have the device yet, then just $380 will secure you the portable media player and the custom color finish.

We know that there are a number of after market cases available for the iPod Touch 4G, but they will never look as good as what Colorware can make them. What would be your perfect color choice?

Panasonic has certainly been busy in recent months, not only have they been working on a new GH2 camera, toughbook and a Lumix phone but now there is the Panasonic Jungle. For those who do not know “The Jungle” is a portable handheld gaming console.

You may wonder why the camera maker wants in on the portable console market? Maybe they have seen how popular this market has become and feels that they have something to offer – but do they?

The Nintendo DS and the PSP currently dominate the market, but the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch are also big players. We just wonder if anyone out there will want a device as chunky as this – it’s not the smallest of devices?

The Panasonic Jungle has a clamshell design and is expected to come with a QWERTY keyboard – not certain why that is yet. We do worry that the size of the device will let it down, with Engadget’s Joshua Topolsky saying that this is something that we do not expect from a portable games console in 2010.
