New iPod Touch, Classic, Shuffle at Apple Rock and Roll Event

The news that many of you have been waiting for is finally here, at the Apple Event they have now announced a new iPod Touch, iPod Classic and iPod Shuffle, however a lot of the official information is contrary to what many believed would be announced.

The new iPod Classic will keep the $249 price tag, however instead of the 120GB capacity it will now have a total capacity of 160GB, this kills the rumors which were circulating suggesting that the iPod Classic’s would be discontinued.

The changes to the iPod Touch are not quite as extensive, the new versions will use the same processor as the iPhone 3GS, one thing that has surprised many is that the new iPod Touch does not have a camera (many believed that this was a certainty). Prices for the iPod Touch’s are now 8GB for $199, 32GB for $299, and 64GB for $399.

The new iPod Shuffle wasn’t really expected to feature highly at today’s event, however there have been a few changes made, you can now pick up iPod Shuffles in a range of colors (pink, green, blue, silver, black and even a new stainless steel Special Edition). The 2GB iPod Shuffle will set you back $59 and the 4GB iPod Shuffle will set you back $79. A price for the Special Edition version is still unknown.

What are you shocked by? I am extremely surprised that the new iPod Touch will not have an internal camera.
