Now we want to inform you about FIFA 11, which has been released onto the iPad.

EA have added FIFA 11 for the iPad to the app store, bringing one of the top selling soccer games to one of the top selling Apple devices. The game features real leagues, teams and players. It has HD graphics; capturing the world’s favorite sport with immense attention to detail. You may be wondering how you are expected to play FIFA without a controller. Well, don’t worry; you control your players by using an on screen D-Pad on one side, and shoot, pass and through are on the other. You can swipe a player to make him make a run.

The size of the game is 890.1 MB, so if you want to download FIFA then expect a lengthy download period. To download the game, head over to iTunes by clicking here. Now we are bringing you something that extremely innovative, perhaps revolutionary, the Word Lens App.

When we saw the application it certainly impressed us, the app uses the camera on your phone to look at words and then it can change the words from one language to another. As it stands Word Lens only supports Spanish to English and vice versa.

The app is free to download however there is a charge for the languages that you wish to add. Each language pack will cost you $5. So if you wanted English to Spanish and Spanish to English you will pay $10 in total. You can read a full list of compatible devices by heading over to appshopper.com.

The app was developed by Quest Visual; we can show you a demonstration video provided from their website at the bottom of our article. We see this as a stepping stone to having a universal language translator; this could evolve from here with different language packs being added. Released by Inkstone Software the app has been designed to use book catalogs such as Baen Free Books, Feedbooks, Project Gutenberg, Smashwords, and the Internet Archive. These give users access to the classics as well as up and coming indie authors and publishers.

The books are downloaded via Wi-Fi, so can be enjoyed at anytime or anywhere without the need to have an internet connection. Users have the ability to pick one of 19 predefined color schemes, or make one of their own from thousands of available colors.

There are 23 different fonts with hundreds of font’s sizes, and a variety of margin widths, line spacing, and text justification. Portrait or landscape modes can be saved depending on user preference. A built-in speed reading test is used to work out and display how long the user takes to finish each chapter.

Books can be searched by author, from within the app by browsing categories such as action and adventure, romance, mystery, and many more. To start off the app has 22 books preloaded from authors such as Jane Austen and Agatha Christie.

First off there’s the Irish Drinking Game. All you have to do is shake your iPhone, receive a command; you drink, and pass it on. Next is iChug for iPhone and Android which uses the built in accelerometer on your phone to time how long it takes you to down your pint of Guinness or green beer.

Another recipe for St. Patrick’s Day fun would be Android’s Beer-Word which gives you a word, blocks your phone number before calling a random person. The idea is to then try to get the stranger to say the word without uttering it yourself. Obviously normal drinking rules apply i.e., if you fail, you drink, but if you succeed, everyone else drinks.
