But the thing is, we have come so engrossed in launching birds via a catapult that we have forgotten how silly the mechanics really are.

Alright, I know most of you are shouting at me in your minds “IT’S JUST A GAME!” But I just want to ask some questions, especially after watching a rather amusing video that highlights these errors. Sorry about the caps, but I still have mine on my keyboard, unlike Google CR -48 owners.

As an avid Angry Birds player, I can’t believe after playing the game for as long as I have, that I have never questioned why birds are using the catapult in the first place? Why have the pigs got the eggs, and why do they need them? Why don’t we just use the bomb everytime?

As you can tell, this is very, very serious. If you watch the video we have embedded below for you, you can see how serious this really is.

You know I’m joking, right? The video below pokes harmless fun at the games flaws, but what an addictive game it is! As it’s Christmas season, you should also check out Angry Birds Seasons too.

As reported from Droid-Life, Angry Birds for Android has now been updated to v1.4.2 and you can download the update by heading to the Android Market now. The update will come in at 14.14MB, so it shouldn’t take too long to download.

Aside from the new levels, other changes include support for QVGA (320X240) resolutions and optimizations for more Android devices. You’ll also get some minor bug fixes as with every other update.

On a side note, you may remember us telling you about a clever trick which will allow you to access locked levels on the game. Well, you’ll be pleased to know that the same method works if want to try out the new 45 levels straight away. Head to our previous report here for full instructions.

As reported from Phandroid, the clever guys over at TalkAndroid have compiled various Angry Birds sounds into Zip files for you to download, and they have also provided a tutorial on how to get them running on your device.

There are two files to download, one being the set of notification sounds, and the other specifically focusing on ringtones. If you are interested in downloading either of these, head to their report for the download links and installation instructions.

This is shown by the remarkable number of downloads the game has had which Rovio, the games developer, say tallies up to well over 2 million already.

Angry Birds saw its rise to fame when it was released for the iOS platform on the iPhone and iPod Touch costing $0.99, and now has been added to the Android Market.

Upon release of the game on GetJar, the demand for the game was so big that the servers were battered with requests and downloads for the game that apparently had over 90,000 downloads “in seconds.”

This prompted GetJar to redirect users to the mobile version of their website (m.getjar.com) to download the app that way.

Both free and paid-for version of the game are available. The free version is no different from the retail version but does come with ads supported. The retail version obviously comes with no ads, and 195 levels for you to enjoy.

After having a chance to play through the game, what are your thoughts on it so far?

The release of Angry Birds on Android is particularly special for those who didn’t get to play it on the iPhone. The game’s release proved to be even too popular for GetJar’s servers to handle, as they went down shortly after the app went live on the Android Market.

For a game which is free to download (ad supported), it really is a win win situation if you have an Android handset. Angry Birds features 150 levels and is perfect for killing time when travelling to work each morning.

The only issue with the game that we can see, is that there isn’t a feature to upload your high scores online. Other than that though, you’ll find that Angry Birds on the Android is very addictive.
