It seems as if HP are keen to jump on the AMD Fusion APU bandwagon, earlier we revealed the HP Pavilion DM1, now we have an All-In-One to tell you about which also uses AMD’s new platform, this is the HP 100B.

You can see this AIO above (more here), as you can see the form factor is similar to other HP models, however underneath you have some impressive technical specifications which should make this an impressive piece of kit whilst using a relatively low amount of energy, that said the focus has been to make this a small form-factor PC, which obviously has affect on some of the internal hardware choices.

In terms of specifications you get the E-350 dual-core 1.6GHz processor, up to 8GB of RAM, Radeon HD 6310 graphics, up to a 750GB HDD, a DVD writer, WiFi b/g/n and a 20-inch display which supports a resolution of 1900 x 1600.

Less important specs include six USB 2.0 ports, built-in stereo speakers and gigabit Ethernet, it runs Windows 7 as standard, however you can choose Red Flag Linux or FreeDOS if you prefer.

The HP 100B is well-worth checking out if you are worried about power consumption, also its price tag is pretty impressive starting at just $499 when it becomes available in February, do you think you will buy one?

HP has recently unveiled a new notebook, however it differs from other run of the mill HP laptops as it is one of their first to feature the new AMD Fusion APU platform, this particular model is called the HP Pavilion DM1.

You can see a full gallery of photos on SlashGear, we have embedded one of these images above, as you can see it looks to feature the impressive build quality we now associate with HP portables, also it is hard not to notice the well-spaced QWERTY keyboard.

In terms of specifications you get the E-350 dual-core AMD Fusion 1.6GHz processor, 3GB of RAM (support for up to 8GB), a 320GB hard drive, Radeon HD 6310M graphics and an 11.6-inch display which supports a resolution of 1366 x 768. Other specs include WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth, Ethernet, HDMI-out, VGA-out, 3 x USB 2.0 ports, a webcam. 6-cell battery and a cardreader.

As we mentioned earlier the AMD Fusion APU chips allows for great battery life, HP claim that the Pavilion DM1 will run for 9 hours and 30 minutes from a single charge, not bad for a $449.99 notebook.

This particular model recently showed up at CES 2011, it is thought that US consumers should be able to purchase this notebook from January 9th 2011, as with most HP models there will be optional extras to choose from to boost performance and functionality.

Do you think you will buy the HP Pavilion DM1?

AMD has officially launched its new Fusion APU series, these chips combine a CPU and GPU into a single die and will be used in devices such as tablets, netbooks and notebooks etc.

The AMD Fusion APU series are said o be capable of DirectX 11 graphics, 1080p HD playback, 2D to 3D conversion, UVD3 video acceleration, also the low power consumption should allow for up to 10 hours of battery life.

You can find out all you need to know about the AMD Fusion APU here, it is thought that we will begin seeing AMD Fusion-based devices at CES 2011, some of which will become available immediately.

AMD has unveiled four Fusion APUs so far, these are the E-240, E-350, C-50 and C-30, the E-Series APUs (Zacate) are intended for mainstream notebooks, small form-factor desktops and All-in-Ones, whilst the C-Series chips (Ontario) are designed for HD netbooks and similar devices, perhaps even tablets. You can see find out a little bit more about these four chips via the image below, alternatively for fully detailed information check out this link.

It will be interesting to see which manufacturers decide to utilize the AMD Fusion platform, with great performance claims the chips undoubtedly seem to fit in with today’s needs of high processing power and low power consumption, I’m sure the potential of this new platform will feature over the next few days at CES.

Do you think the AMD Fusion platform will be a success?
