Well now it looks like you’ll be able to, thanks to the Alice: Madness Returns interactive storybook that’s come to iOS devices.

According to a recent article by Michael McWhertor over at uk.kotaku.com, the Alice: Madness Returns storybook app – which is available for the Apple iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad – bridges the gap between the original game, American McGee’s Alice and the upcoming sequel Alice: Madness Returns.

The interactive storybook is free to download from the Apple App Store, but only for those that live in the United States. The app includes some neat features such as an original storyline, some fancy artwork and the Cheshire Cat ‘smile recognition’ feature that works via the iPhone or iPad’s camera.

It looks like you won’t have to worry if you do live outside the US or you don’t own an Apple iOS device, as Electronic Arts has recently announced via the official Alice Facebook page that the storybook will soon be available to all iOS users, as well as on Android devices and as a Facebook app.

According to a recent computerandvideogames.com article by Tom Pakinkis, the game’s designer American McGee said that although the Alice: Madness returns game will not feature online multiplayer, it will boast hefty DLC and a code that enables players to download and play American McGee’s Alice.

McGee revealed that the downloadable content would arrive in the form of new dresses for Alice to wear. These dresses will feature special abilities, which will then enhance how gamers play through the game. The first game was originally released for PC and Mac back in October 2000.

If you’ve been following all the news regarding the upcoming Alice: Madness Returns game, you may have read our previous article that provided a couple of gameplay trailers. The footage was taken during a demonstration of the game at the 2011 Game Developers Conference.

It may have taken a while, but we’ve finally received word on some gameplay footage.

According to a recent article by Mike Jackson over at computerandvideogames.com, two gameplay trailers have just hit the Internet, and I don’t think they will disappoint. The trailers (courtesy of IGN) – which we’ve embedded below this post – were in fact taken from a demo shown at the GDC last week.

The recently released footage shows Alice exploring a castle, as she battles against a horde of enemies with numerous weapons. The Alice: Madness Returns game – which takes place eleven years after the events of the original – will be released on June 14th, for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

American McGee, the original game’s designer, promises that the sequel will feature a rich and deep combat system, which tests the powers of Alice’s imagination. What do you think of the upcoming Alice: Madness Returns game from the trailers you’ve seen and the details you’ve read?

You won’t want to miss this.

As reported from VG247, American Mcgee announced the new game himself, last night at EA’s Summer Showcase event. We’re glad he did as well, because the visuals for the new game are looking breathtaking.

Alice: Madness Returns will be a direct sequel to the original game and will be developed by Mcgee’s own Spicy Horse studio for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms.

You’ll be pleased to know that EA released a brief teaser trailer along with their press release, and it doesnt disappoint – more of the same dark and eerie atmosphere that was a core feature of American Mcgee’s Alice on the PC way back in 2000.
