There are always a number of applications that users of the various mobile platforms look forward to becoming available, such as Instagram for Android. Today we have some good news for owners of the iPad 2 as Photoshop Touch from Adobe is released for the tablet PC.

The application has long been promised for the device and is pretty close to the version that is found on the Android platform, including the price. An article over on Cnet is reporting that Adobe has also promised to get the rest of their Touch applications onto the device in the not too distant future.

In use the Photoshop Touch interface is not too involved once you get used to it, but it can block out a proportion of the image. The application offers users a good selection of special effect brushes along with a good set of adjustment.

Other popular features are available such as adjustments, filters, layers, and selection tools that will help users create stunning images. By using the camera on the iPad users can fill an area on a layer via the camera fill feature. Once completed images can be shared via social networking sites such as Facebook, and comments can be viewed from within the app.

Users can even search and get hold of images by using the built-in Google Image Search, and AirPrint allows for wireless printing of completed images. You can upload images that have a resolution of 1600 x 1600 pixels.

Included in the application is a gallery to give you ideas for creating great images, and step-by-step instructions are included to help you learn the techniques that the professionals use. Users can also upload projects to the Adobe Creative Cloud, as well as opening layered files from the app in Photoshop CS5. Below we have a couple of videos of the application for you.

Adobe Photoshop Touch 1.1.0 is available worldwide on the App Store in a variety of languages, and is priced at $9.99/£6.99. iPad 2 with iOS 5.0 required.

Recently Adobe held a press briefing in London, here they introduced attendees to their latest versions of Photoshop and Premiere Elements.

Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Elements 9 have both had their user interface tweaked and refined, that said their is still the similar look and feel that Photoshop users are used to.

Mac users will be glad to hear that Photoshop Elements 9 is coming to OS X, the last version (Photoshop Elements 8 ) was Windows only, which meant that Mac users had to buy the more expensive and complex Adobe software.

On the whole it seems as if Mac users will be the ones who benefit the most, previous Windows versions of Photoshop / Premiere Elements offered some exclusive features, however these have now been ported across to OS X.

There are a lot of neat new features for you to take advantage of, including improved video import functionality, easier ways to share media with social networking websites, new step-by-step editing wizards and improved HD video support.

There are quite a few other changes that the more experienced Photoshop / Premiere Elements users will no doubt be impressed by, check out the source link below for more info.

Which new features are you most excited about?
