One thing we do know, Adobe would have had to pull out all the stops, as CS5 proved time and again how truly great is was/is. Do not get too exited though, as there are only a small number of enhancements in the latest version.

If you are in the market for a photographic suite that has bundles of extras, then the Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 will have you amazed at just how big it all is. What users will be pleased about is that Audition is back and works on both Windows and Mac OS X. Coming back down to earth though, most of the new features are just updates to be able to work with video production techniques.

PC Pro has gone in-depth with the review, and even talks about how there is now support for RED cameras, along with some new features that makes it much easier when picking out a white point. There is now greater support for more graphics cards – the downside that they are still “Nvidia’s CUDA for acceleration.”

So the tough decision is if the number of feature upgrades warrants the amount of money you will have to part with in order to purchase Adobe CS5.5. If you choose the Premiere Pro, then you will have to part with £719. If you want a smooth and fast upgrade along with app integration, then you cannot say no to CS5.5.

However, we should never underestimate Adobe, as they have unveiled a host of new features that have exceeded all expectations.

Stephen Shankland from Cnet News has gone into detail of this latest photographic software and gives us a summary of its new features. There will be a preview today from Adobe showcasing the new program ahead of its release within 30 days.

Some of the most important new features include Automatic lens corrections: this tool makes it possible to remove barrel and pincushion distortion, amongst others. Adobe has also revamped its support for high-dynamic range (HDR) photography: This allows you to combine different images taken at different exposures.

As reported from Apple Insider, Adobe will be unveiled on April 12th, with shipping expected to start a month later.

As usual, CS5 will combine the very best features in graphics, video and Web design for professionals, and Apple Insider also reveal that CS5 will contain a 64-bit version of Photoshop for Mac.

If you don’t want to miss a single thing during the announcement on April 12th, you’ll be pleased to know that Adobe will be streaming the event on AdobeTV so you’ll see everything live as it happens.
