As reported from Phandroid, the new build is available to download now and comes to us courtesy of MoDaCo forum member ”LIQUID_USER”. He has posted download links for the update, as well as his early impressions of it.

He says that the build is very stable, and improves speed performance compared to previous versions.

We have some exciting news for Acer Liquid owners, as we have a video to show you now, which confirms that it is possible to get the latest Android 2.2 Froyo software running on the device.

As reported from Phandroid, the video comes to us courtesy of French website Frandroid, who posted the video up recently, proving that despite the handset being fairly old – Froyo is indeed possible.

Hopefully the user responsible for cracking the Android code will post a tutorial on how you guys can start installing 2.2 on your handsets.

For now though, enjoy the video and stay tuned for better things to come. Let us know your thoughts on the news. Are you still running 1.6 Donut on your Acer Liquid?
