Amazon has had a pretty awesome deal running if you were to pre-order NBA 2K12 or any other title. The $50 price tag is a little step, but the $10 off will help to make it one of the cheapest offers available – although we do not know how long such a deal will run for. If you are an Amazon Prime customer then shipping will be free, otherwise you will pay just $0.99.

We have never heard of Disc Direct, but they claim to be selling the Xbox 360 version of NBA 2K12 for just $40.79, although you will have to add shipping to that price. There are not as many deals for this game as there is for FIFA 12, Battlefield 3 or Modern Warfare 3, as the prices are now reaching over $50. The next best price is Walmart with a price of $59.96 for both Xbox 360 and PS3 versions. However, both of these do come with an eGift Card.

GameStop will charge $59.99, but this does come with a bonus gift, which is a code to unlock two Classic NBA teams. However, you need to pre-order this to take advantage of the deal. You have less than a day for the release of the game, so you had best hurry.

In fact, according to a recent article by Nunzio Ingrassia over on the cbsnews.com website, the ‘NBA Greatest Mode’ will highlight some of the greatest moments from a total a 15 NBA legends. The only legends that have been confirmed by 2K Sports so far are Julius Erving, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul Jabbar.

This of course means that there are another ten legends that are still under wraps. Players will be able to relive memorable games from each of the 15 legends, which will then unlock the two teams that participated in that specific game. Once players have unlocked the teams, they will then have the ability to pit them against current day teams.

Jason Argent – vice president of marketing for 2K Sports – said that the unannounced legends could possibly be from any time period, which gives a little hope to fans that may want to see legends that played before the 1980s included in the game. This means that icons such as Bill Russell, Jerry West, Oscar Robertson and Wilt Chamberlain could still be featured.

Argent also explained that if the legendary game was originally played before the 3-point arc or shot clock, this would be reflected in the ‘Greatest Mode.’ Just like NBA 2K11’s ‘Jordan Challenge’ mode, the legendary games will be played with a grainy-film visual quality and time specific commentary. Another subject that Argent touched upon is the upgraded NBA Today feature.

The upgraded feature will update both roster and player ratings throughout the season. This year, when a player gets a new tattoo, changes his hairstyle or debuts new speakers, this will updated in the game. The NBA 2K12 game will be released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 4th. We’ve embedded a video below this post so you can see the mode for yourself.

In the past when the box art has been revealed, the company has featured an in-form player from the NBA on the front. Amongst these players, superstars such as Shaquille O’Neal, Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett have been featured, however last year saw a difference from the company when retired NBA legend Michael Jordan featured on the front cover for NBA 2K11.

The player spent the peak of his career at Chicago Bulls where he became a superstar both on and off the court. 2K Sports’ decision to include such a high profile player on the front cover, despite him being retired proved to be a hugely popular choice. For this reason it appears the company has opted for NBA legends once more, this time three of them will have a cover each. It was confirmed today that Michael Jordan will once again be featured on one of the front covers.

Accompanying him this year will be Celtics forward Larry Bird and LA Lakers legend Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson as they each have a front cover of their own too offering gamers a choice when purchasing the game. Jason Argent, Vice President at 2K Sports said ‘Jordan was such a success for us, and even if we wanted to do something different, the fans would never let us do it,’ in regards to Jordan featuring on last year’s game.

According to USA Today, Jordan’s involvement with this year’s box art marks the start of a multi-year deal which was arranged between the legend and the publishers, 2K. Argent also says they are working on resolving the potential problem that might occur with gamers wanted to collect all three covers without having to pay full price three times. The company is also said to be working on a way to incorporate the superstars into the games themselves, like they did with Michael Jordan in NBA 2K11. What do you think of this year’s box art?

Kobe Bryant then came onto stage to test out the game and did let it slip that he had been practicing backstage, we have embedded the video below, watch it and let us know whether you think the game looks harder to control than 2K Sports are making out.

In the video you see Bryant taking 3-4 attacks before he manages to score and it also looks like he is having a bad time defending, we’re not sure whether the game’s difficulty is to blame or perhaps the new control system is not as easy to use as 2K Sports are suggesting, what do you think?

During the press event we were told that to pass the ball simply point towards the player you want and press “A”, to shoot simply point at the net and press a button, to steal point towards the ball and press a few buttons, as you can see the controls look simple enough but we wonder what its like in the real world.

One thing which was evident during the demonstration was the game’s amazing graphics, the game looks almost real and runs very smoothly, Bryant at one point calls the game “frightening realistic” and we have to agree.

Well we can now tell you that you are in luck, as according to pastapadre over on the pastapadre.com website, 2K Sports has just released the full list of changes for the newly released patch. Not only does the patch address a number of known issues, but also provides various improvements.

The Xbox 360 patch includes a fix for the bug where the Control Shot icon would not disappear in cut scene, as well as fix the issue where camera settings were not being saved properly. Players will also find that the patch has enabled Dpad control and coach info will now be displayed correctly.

It has also fixed the bug where players were unable to invite friends to the Player match lobby when they were disconnected from Sparring Partner Training during gameplay. Male players will now be able to view the correct stats for female players in World Tour (and vice versa).

Meanwhile, the PlayStation 3 patch includes a fix for the exploit where players were able to unlock trophies when loading the user data of a different user, as well as a fix for the specific crashes that occurred in Career mode. You can see their fully detailed review here, in our article we will raise some of the main points raised and tell you why it got such a high rating, much higher than we have ever seen from any other Top Spin game before.

If you read IGN reviews previously you will know that they calculate their reviews by taking into account five aspects, these are presentation, graphics, sound, gameplay and lasting appeal, it seems as if gameplay stole the show as they gave this aspect of the game 9/10.

In terms of presentation, graphics, sound and lasting appeal IGN were very happy with Top Spin 4, apparently sounds and graphics are realistic and the multiplayer modes will help the games longevity.

The game’s career mode is said to very extensive and you really see your player progress as you get further through the game, also the player creation tool is pretty impressive. As for controls you will probably start off thinking you have been thrown in at the deep end, however the game’s Top Spin Academy allows you to get to grips with the new system, after a while the controls will become second nature to you.

If you are considering purchasing Top Spin 4 we highly recommend checking out IGN’s fully detailed review, the game is PlayStation Move compatible, however at the time of this post we have no insight as to whether this is good or not.

According to a recent vg247.com report by Johnny Cullen, the US launch date was recently revealed on the game’s Facebook page. The publisher also confirmed that Top Spin 4 – which will be available for the Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 – will come with PlayStation Move support.

Although we haven’t actually got a European release date yet, we can tell you that it’s due to be announced very soon. As Mike Harradence over at psu.com reports, the Top Spin 4 game promises to provide players with a “realistic and exhilarating tennis” experience.

The professional players that have been confirmed for the game so far includes Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, James Blake, Nikolay Davydenko, Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic and of course, the one and only Roger Federer. Will you be buying the Top Spin 4 game?

According to a recent article by Joe Anderson over at vg247.com, the upcoming game – which is currently in development with 2K Sports – is presumed to be coming out on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade, although we haven’t got a release window as of yet.

The ESRB has described the MLB Bobblehead Pros title as a baseball simulation game, in which gamers have to compete in the sport using bobblehead versions of real-life Major League Baseball players. According to the ESRB, gamers can customize their teams and play through entire seasons.

As Sebastian Moss at playstationlifestyle.net recently noted, this isn’t the first time that 2K Sports has worked on a baseball-related game that incorporates the popularity of the bobblehead dolls. Their previously-released titles include MLB Stickball for the Xbox 360 and MLB Power Pros for the Wii.

Going back to MLB 2K11, we have just learned that the cover and screens have found their way on a few websites. To see a full image gallery of these screenshots you can head over to pastapadre, they touch on the subject about not being able to tell how much the game has improved over last years versions, only time will tell on that one I’m afraid.

You will notice that Cy Young from the Philadelphia Phillies will grace the covers for the upcoming game. Kotaku reports that Roy Halladay will grace the covers of the next MLB 2K game, which for some will be a long-time coming for the great pitcher.

So far Metacritic has only received four professional reviews for NBA 2K11, all of which were for the Xbox 360 version of the game and they all seemed extremely happy with the game.

IGN gave the game a score of 95 out of 100, they say that 2K Sports has made a huge amount of improvements when compared to the last offering, here is a quote from their review “This isn’t just the best basketball game ever; it’s the best sports game of this generation”. 3DJuegos are also very complimentary, they scored it 93 out of 100 and say that it is the best basketball game ever, you can see the full review here.

JoyStiq sum things up with this quote “The truest adaptation of the sport available”, they scored it 90 out of 100, you can see their review here.

Game Informer score NBA 2K11 88 out of 100, they are extremely impressed with its gameplay and franchise mode, you can see their full review here.

At the moment these reviews have resulted in a Metascore of 92/100, this will change as more reviews come in, so keep checking out the Metacritic NBA 2K11 page.
