Some of you might be wondering how we can compare the 2013 Cadillac XTS and the 2014 C7 Corvette Stingray when they are for completely different markets, and you would be right in that assumption. But it is pretty simple really, just take a look at the video below and this recent article that looked at the instrument cluster on the C7 and you will understand just what we mean.

The large digital gauge cluster in the 2013 Cadillac XTS is configurable with the first footage showing you the standard simple setting. You can also choose a balanced screen, which shows the three clusters or for those looking for something a little sportier then you can even choose a performance look. These cluster settings can be adjusted by using a toggle switch on the steering wheel.

However, the overall interior of the 2013 Cadillac XTS does have a more luxury feel, as you would imagine with the standout feature being the CUE – Cadillac User Experience – interface, which allows you to manage the sat-nav, audio system and climate control. That’s not all you can also connect to Pandora and even check out the latest weather reports.

Like we said above the XTS is in another market to the C7, but its competing market is the Lincoln MKS and Lexus ES. However, Autoblog fears that the shocking $44,000-$62,000 is a little too close to the Jaguar XF and Lexus GS, which could be a bit of a concern for Cadillac.

Each year car manufacturers attempt to outdo one another at the LA Auto show, this year’s show has just kicked off and we have just had our first glance at the 2013 Cadillac XTS and it looks as if car enthusiasts will find this hard to ignore.

When Cadillac’s vice president of marketing, Don Butler, unveiled the 2013 XTS he revealed how this mid-sized car is the replacement for the DTS and STS, it features a 3.6-liter V-6 engine which delivers 300 horsepower and a six-speed automatic transmission. Apparently we can expect the XTS to take on the likes of the Audi A6 and BMW 5 series in the so-called “luxury market”.

We don’t have full details for you regarding specifics and features, however we are told that the XTS will boast adaptive cruise control, magnetic ride control suspension, 40-inches of legroom and 18 cubic feet of trunk space. If you like futuristic features we can also confirm that the XTS will be the first to offer Cadillac’s CUE (Cadillac User Experience) system, this pulls together a touch screen display, telematics and voice recognition – you can see a video showing this new system at the bottom of this post.

The image below shows that the 2013 Cadillac XTS is aesthetically pleasing, but there is more to this car than just its good looks. Cadillac claims that a network of cameras and sensors will help a driver’s awareness and potentially help avoid potential crashes. If you check out this link you and scroll down a little you can see a long list of tech systems which have been implemented to assist the driver, such as ‘Front and Rear Automatic Brakes’, ‘Intelligent Brake Assist’, ‘Lane Departure Warning’, ‘Automatic Collision Preparation’ and much more.

As previously mentioned the XTS is a mid-sized car, however they are also going to be releasing a compact sports car next year, this is called the ATS, we will keep you posted as we hear more about it. As for the XTS you can expect to see it in showrooms in Spring, 2012, but we don’t yet know anything in regards to pricing.

For a little more information about the XTS check out this webpage. How much do you expect the 2013 Cadillac XTS to cost as standard? Something tells us it won’t be cheap!
