If the photo turns out to be legitimate the next-gen iPod Nano has a similar form-factor to what we have seen previously, sources claim that it will feature a 1.3 megapixel sensor, which will probably be better for videos than still images.

One noticable difference when you compare last-year’s model to the leaked image is the fact that there is no clip on the back, the 6th-gen Nano could easily clip onto your clothing (see here), whereas a clip would cover up the camera’s lens on the next-gen Nano.

Apple will obviously keep things quiet until the official reveal (which will probably take place in September 2011) if it does feature a built-in camera it won’t be the first time as the 5th-gen (2009) model featured a 0.3 megapixel video camera. The 2010 model was a lot smaller, which probably meant that at the time Apple could not fit in a camera, but a year on technology advances will have probably allowed this.
