Retailers were only given a few of these from Samusung. The store we visited had only 2 of them and they were gone by 5:10 am.

Circuit City near me had one which I bought, but they didn’t have one on the sales floor, I had to ask about it. They had one of the other 5 series for $200 more on display (530 or 550 I think).

They gave me 3 yr no interest financing and promised me a $100 rebate from my local cable co. for signing up for HD upgrade (we’ll see how that turns out.)

No shipping cost (in stock), picked up and took home.

Contrast ratio of 20,000:1 and very high Consumer Reports ratin made this a no brainer at $1,167.00 with tax, I get 3% back from Upromise as well and hopefully the $100 rebate from Comcast.

I brought it home, plugged it in and watched over the air HD sunday night football - holy shit!

Setup easy. Speakers appear to fire down and reflect to you. Getting to sound menu not as easy as others.
    Video setup has Game mode.
    Audio has entertainment mode.
43.5″ wide for 46″ diag! PIP crystal clear.
2 HDMI inputs, 1 component, so know what is plugged where before you disconnect old equipment.
AnyNet + feature is great! Samsung tv links to Samsumg Blu-ray with Anynet+ via HDMI. Both remotes work the other device.
Sample dvd: Transformers and Blu-ray version. Great picture. Qatar base attack sound levels off, turned off Auto Volume feature to get full explosion and pulse wave effects.

After researching all the confusing specification numbers, I was ready to shop for a Jan. 2009 deal. My first stop was at Brandsmart and happened to walk in right when they were rolling out a brand new Samsung 46″ LN46A500 without the box for $698.88. Reviewed the spec’s and 60 seconds later pulled the trigger. I added the 5 yr extented warranty for $158.88 (what the hell) and with tax walked out at $913.51. Hooked it up in 10 minutes and wala!!!! 100% satisfaction - the best 46″ TV I’ve ever seen for under 7 bills. Definately a great TV - I even spent 2 hrs. online and I could’nt find 1 bad review. Lucked out, thought i’d share the news.
