Nintendo Wii Remote Motionplus: Lightsaber game coming

For those of you who have been waiting for a lightsaber game, you will be pleased to hear that we could be getting a step closer to it. Nintendo have now announced a new accessory for the Will called Wii Motionplus.
This new attachment which fits on to the bottom of the Wiimote allows for more accurate responses to the motion that the player makes. Nintndo say that this new attachment will do a better job of “reflecting motions in a 3-D space”.
According to Slippery Brick, the Wii Motionplus fits to the bottom of the controller and works in conjunction with the controller’s accelerometer and the Wii sensor bar, Nintendo say that with all three working together, the motion of the players hand and arm are true 1:1 response.
This is the kind of technology that is needed for many first person shooter games, as well as the long awaited lightsaber game that Wii fans are hoping for.
Although the standard Wii Remote does a great job when tracking your hand and arm movements, it can sometimes be a little shaky. The Wii Motionplus add-on improves the precision of those movements, this will be a great help to so many games.
At this moment there are no details on pricing or a release date.
World Exclusive Video Trailer of Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels: Is this for you?

The video below is pretty nice when you watch it and that is all thanks to the power of Wiimote, the announcement of Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels may be exciting to some but to some not the case but the fact that it is a immersive Wiimote-as-lightsaber game surely this puts a little fun into the game.
Personally this game is not on my top ten list, I have the Wii, the 360 and the PS3 and always by titles and this Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels is not one I will be buying; it is not what I call a fantastic game. Ok it seems fun but seems a lot of hard work for me. Many of you will hate the fact George Lucas is not doing it, this would not make a good movie not alone a good game, ok yes a lightsaber game for Wii is a good idea but come on we need something that actually looks a little bit like Star Wars. I love Star Wars to bits and I mean I really love it, but for some reason this game does not get my juices flowing.
I would love to know what you think about Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels, please watch the world exclusive video trailer below and then let me know what you think.
Is this game for you?
Battle of the Bands Review on the Nintendo Wii

THQ are hoping to tap in the success that both Rock Band and Guitar Hero has had, which is why they have cooked up their own take by bringing out Battle of the Bands for the Nintendo Wii. Players will swing their Wii Remotes to the beat with a choice of different music styles and as well as controlling machine guns, flamethrowers and other such items to take down the competition.
Ok so it does not sound like it is going to be the best concept in the world. The main part of the game follows the main structure as Guitar Hero, you get to choose a band from five different genres rock, pop, hop-hop, country and Latin. You then get to take your game on tour with the 30 songs on the Battle of the Bands track list. As you are competing with bullets and grenades and not just notes and chords your performance will actually burn the building to the ground.
Multiplayer mode allows you to face off against a friend or just take on a CPU component, you are able to change your choice of song from the outset and also choose your difficulty settings. Ok so 30 tracks is not a bad set list but there is not many options, and without a proper score board there is not much of an incentive to keep playing.
To make a good music game the player has to feel like a real performer, but the gameplay does not feel like it is related to the music at all. When playing the game a group of notes will rise from the bottom of the screen which you then have to move your Wiimote in a particular way, maybe stabbing forward or just to wiggle.
While competing with another band you both have to play to the same song however; they will be in different styles, the whole thing just seems like a train wreck. Your result while playing along to the song has no bearing on the game. When you do miss a beat in the game there is no way of knowing that you have got it wrong as there is no awkward silence. The only way that you know you are racking up any points is with the rumbling of the controller.
The trouble I have with this game is with the addition of weapons, as this takes away the main aim of this game and that is the music. You will be more concerned with blocking an opponents volleys rather than playing to the rhythm.
When you first purchase Battle of the Bands on the Nintendo Wii things seems good to you at first, however you will then learn that it is not about the music, it is about butchering the music
Battle of the Bands does not look good feel good or sound good. The music is a mockery of the originals; the most fun that you will get from the game is how bad it all is.

Is Microsoft really working on 360 Wiimote control? No Confirmation
April 8, 2008 by Mark
Filed under Gaming, Gaming Gadgets, Microsoft News, Xbox 360

We are not too sure if this is real or just a little bit of fun, but what we do know is we will just wait and see the outcome. According to MTV News Microsoft are at this time secretly developing a Wiimote-like motion controller for the Xbox 360.
Hey Nintendo get your suing shoes on! No seriously a source has said that the new unit has been in development since August, the interface is be developed by Rare.
The whole Wiimote-killer idea should be much better than the Nintendo control because it will feature an analog stick, four face buttons, microphone and possibly integration with the Xbox Live Vision Camera.
It seems though Microsoft are having problems getting this new control out by the end of the year, so as I said above, shall we just sit back and wait to see what happens.
Nintendo Wii Controller System to operate real military robots: Is this good for warfare?

Strange but true and quite scary really but the Nintendo Wii controller system will be used in real life warfare to operate military robots. All I hope is that the men and women in the military do not play the Nintendo Wii in real life or they might think it’s a game.
Scientist has reported that two scientists in the United States have just adapted the Nintendo Wii control system technology into robots that clear mine fields.
The Nintendo Wiimote detects movement in three dimensions using wireless technology in the games as we know it, but it is just for that “games” so do we really want this technology in modern warfare?
