It has been rumored that the new PS3 Slim console features an upgraded Cell Processor, than the one contained in the ‘beefy’ model. All the following details are according to an IBM spokesman (one of the developers along with Toshiba and Sony), so its rather strange that Sony didn’t announce anything like this at GamesCom. Toshiba Blu-ray players and laptops to release soon

We recently heard how Toshiba had ‘bit the bullet’ and decided to start releasing Blu-ray players, despite initially firmly backing the HD DVD format. It is now official as Toshiba have now applied for membership of the BDA.
The BDA is the Blu-ray Disc Association, this shows that Toshiba plan on releasing products that support the Blu-ray format. Microsoft gives Windows 7 RTM code to OEM partners
It has been reported that original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) have finally picked up their RTM code from Microsoft for Windows 7. A handful of OEMs were personally invited to Redmond to pick up their codes and pose for a picture in the process. Read more

Microsoft XBOX 360: Still no Blu-ray plans
Microsoft have recently released a statement stating that they do not have any plans to release a Blu-ray drive for its Xbox 360, following the flop of its HD drive many experts believed that they would follow Sony’s PlayStation 3 and offer a Blu-ray drive.
Microsoft seem to be concentrating on offering their instant watch 1080p videos which will be available via the Xbox Live Video Marketplace, currently the Video Marketplace offers over 20,000 movies and videos 5000 of which are in HD, this figure is growing and growing. Read more
