Ford Mustang Cobra Jet: First Impressions
June 18, 2009
The first impressions of the Ford Mustang Cobra were amazing, it went for its first race at its local drag strip, with its whopping great supercharged engine size of 5.8 litre,V8 engine with a massive 425 horsepower so there is no doubt that the cobra flew down the drag strip for its fastest ever first drive.
The Ford Mustang Cobra was first introduced back in 1968 with just huge engines and all of the interior taken out to make the car lighter and faster for the drivers, compared to today’s Cobra where everything is so light it don’t matter what goes in the car, it will still go as fast as its made to go no doubt about that.
Although Ford like to say the engine has 425HP standard but when it gets taken out on to the drag strip and is modified by the teams they get taken up to around 500-600 HP and are able to clear the strip in just 11 seconds, where the cobra’s are just so fast and powerful private teams at the NMRA Ford nationals event managed to get hold of a few to use in their races.

Jaguar XF AJ 21 has official details from Arden the Jag-specialists
May 14, 2008

The Jaguar XF AJ 21 will become the automakers flagship vehicle; many of us have been getting exited to know just what this cat has to offer. Details of these cars have been very scarce however; Arden the Jag-specialists have decided to give us the official details of this much anticipated car. This sedan is not your usual XF; it is much more as it has that sporty edge that will help to feed the hunger of those power hungry Jaguar fans. For those who can’t wait until this summer to get their hands on the Jaguar XF AJ 21, just check out the details of this vehicle hopefully it will be just enough to wet your appetite until you are able to get your dirty little hands on this cool and sporty sedan.
The Jaguar XF AJ 21 certainly has a great choice when it comes to its power units; there is a choice of four engines all of which has received upgrades. The best of the bunch has to be the old 4.2 liter V8 Supercharged 416hp engine, which has now had a displacement increase to 4.5 liters, now this beast of an engine pushes out 500hp. If you thought that Jaguar had already done a great job with their XF range wait until you see what Arden have done with the car.

When looking at the exterior of the AJ 21 you can see that Arden have worked very hard getting the aerodynamic perfect, the car looks aggressive when looking at it head on thanks to the larger front grille as well as the larger air intakes. This is not just for looks, as the cars in the range are more powerful they need extra cooling to the engine and brakes. Arden realizes that Jags have always been for the older driver, so adding cool looking LED-day lights has helped to give it a pimped out look.
When you take a walk around to the rear of the Jaguar XF AJ 21 you will come across a small opening on the rocker panels, this are just near to the rear wheels. These are not there just to make the car look good; they provide extra cooling for the rear brakes. Not much has changed to the rear of this Jag, just a few little changes which include a marked rear diffuser as well as a subtle rear lid spoiler. The car itself sits nicely on a set of 21 inch rims from Ardens Sportline range. As the cars in the AJ 21 are more powerful you need to know that the car will handle the extra horsepower, Arden have included their special sport suspension which are more than up to the job.
You no longer have to be old and wear a flat clap to own a Jaguar.

Pontiac and Buick Recall: 207,542 have potential engine fire fears

Pontiac and Buick are facing a huge recall, 207,542 are to be recalled over fears of a potential engine fire. The exact car models affected are the 1997-2003 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP and the 1997-2003 Buick Regal GS which has the V6 3.8-liter supercharged engine.
Both the Pontiac and the Buick may suffer an oil leak which can drop onto the exhaust manifold while breaking hard. The problem could get worse if the oil reaches the manifold’s heat shield, this in turn could cause a small flame this could then spread to the spark plug covers, and once that happens it could then turn into an engine fire.
The fire does not happen while the car is running; it will normally happen once the engine has been switched of for 5 to 10 minutes, this is a major fire risk. So if you owe one of these cars, you should try not to park your vehicle at any car parks or even in your garage.

Husmen 699 GTO: renderings of this future Ferrari concept car

I think I have fallen in love. Ok not with a woman that would not be fair on my wife, but with the Husmen 699 GTO. There is nothing better than looking at renderings of future concept cars and this one has been designed by Emre Husmen who is a design student at IED.
While looking closely at the design I can see hints of a couple of Ferrari’s from the old 250 GTO to the new Ferrari 599 GTB. Hey I think I can almost see a bit of Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione in the car as well.
The Husmen 699 GTO will have a carbon fiber body and have V8 twin-supercharged, this will run on biofuel. This concept will also have hydraulic suspension, great if you have to go over speed bumps. This concept could become reality as Husmen are in talks with a coachbuilder from Italy.
