PS3’s PlayStation Eye vs Xbox 360’s Natal

If you were to ask anyone who attended E3 2009 what was the most memorable moment, then most of them would have to say Microsoft and Steven Spielberg announcing Project Natal for the Xbox 360. Sony did also announce their motion sensing gaming which will incorporate the use of the PlayStation Eye for the PS3.

Sony’s director of marketing John Holler has been talking to Gamasutra about its PlayStation Eye, saying that it is “more accurate and more precise” than the technology that will be used in Microsoft’s motion-sensing Project Natal. Although Microsoft’s system has full-body scanning capabilities, Holler states that it is reported to be suffering from “depth issues on the Z-axis.” Read more

Boom Blox Ruins of Old and Rampart Ruin Tutorial Gameplay

May 8, 2008

With Boom Blox Ruins you are able to combine the power of Boom Blox as well as Chemical Blox so that you can topple some ancient ruins. Ruins of Old is a game does look interesting from the start but I am not sure if it will stay that way after playing it for an hour or so. The game has got some great reviews, but that might be because Steven Spilberg has put his weight behind the game. Still not sure how entertaining it is to keep blowing things up. Rampart Ruin is a game where you have to create chemical chain reactions sounds a little more interesting, you have to do this so you can harvest Gems from a few towers at once.

This is certainly a game that will be great while playing drunk. What I have trouble understanding is what Steven Spielberg could have contributed to the game, ok we know that he is one of the greatest movie directors ever, but what can he bring to a game.

For those of you who do not understand the concept behind Boom Box, then the best way for you to learn is by watching a tutorial all about the game. Althought how could someone find it hard just to press A, what do you do? Press ok, cool now I know, it’s as simple as that.

Nintendo Wii’s Boom Blox from Steven Spielberg and Electronic Arts

May 6, 2008

The words innovative and Nintendo Wii go hand in hand, so to hear about a new game for the Wii that is said to be innovative, you are not surprised. Now if we said this new game was a project from two names like publisher Electronic Arts and director Steven Spielberg, you may want to take notice.

The game is called “Boom Blox” and its Steven Spielberg’s first collaboration with EA, the game was inspired from how Steven loved to smashup his toys as a child. In Boom Blox your able to use the Wii remote, to simulate throwing baseballs at towers of blocks, just like at the funfair. This may sound like it can get boring fast, but the game has a lot more to offer, and this includes the ability to play a multiplayer mode that’s similar to Jenga.

You can even make your own puzzles in Boom Blox thanks to the robust creation mode, this is going to be a massive game as we all like to create things and the video games that last the longest have good multiplayer modes for playing real people. If you do create a puzzle, you can then share it with others and then play that puzzle together. Its easy to see that Boom Blox will be very popular as it has all the basic things that make gaming interesting and fun.

Recent reports have said that they had started following the faith, on the advice of close friends Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.

Will said that “You don’t have to be Jewish to be a friend of Steven Spielberg. You don’t have to be a Muslim to be a friend of Muhammad Ali. And you don’t have to be a Scientologist to be a friend of Tom Cruise. I am a Christian. I am a student of all religions. And I respect all people and all paths”.
