Tales of Vesperia demo released for Xbox 360

Tales of Vesperia demo released for Xbox 360

Tales of Vesperia demo
The Tales RPG franchise celebrates its tenth anniversary with the release of Tales of Vesperia™, exclusively on Xbox 360®. Tales of Vesperia brings the popular real-time RPG fighting system and a brand new cast of characters into a world struggling with an ancient technology, the blastia, and the empire that controls the blastia.

The game follows the adventures of Yuri, a former Imperial Knight and the colorful members he meets along the way. Yuri travels with Repede, his loyal canine friend; Estelle, a sheltered noble looking to explore the world and find her path; Karol, a young member of the Hunting Blades Guild; and Rita, an outspoken mage researcher.

The beginning of the demo takes place shortly after Yuri and his companions have met up with Rita. After hitting a snag with the empire’s soldiers, they must detour through the forest battling ferocious inhabitants and a huge monster that has been attacking the neighboring villages.

Strategically string together sword combos and use your artes (magic) and items to their fullest potential to make it through the forest alive. Using your over limit allows you to string together even more attacks, and tailoring the battle strategies of your companions can give you that extra edge in battle.

In Tales of Vesperia, the artistic style is so detailed and animated, it truly blurs the line between animation and gaming. Try the demo available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace now.

Call of Duty 5 World at War release date confirmed for fall: December 31, 2008

call of duty world at war release date
Call of Duty World at War (CoD 5) has got many gamers talking with some saying they cannot wait and some saying why the hell is it based around WWII, well we have some more news about the game for those who want the game and who are a little interested.

Activision Inc and Treyarch has just announced that they will be taking all you Call of Duty players into deep South Pacific and European theaters this fall for Call of Duty: World at War, this new game which may be loved or indeed hated is a game that contains a gritty fight that will put players up against enemies that know no surrender and of course the enemies show no mercy at all. The new game utilizes Call of Duty 4 (CoD 4) Modern Warfare engine and now throws the rulebook right out of the window of war to transform World War 2 (WWII) combat through a new enemy, there will be stunning new tactics and new experiences of the climate battles that gripped a generation. As U.S Marines and Russian soldiers you the player will love new features like cooperative gameplay, cinematically intense experience and brand new weapons like flamethrowers.

“With Call of Duty: World at War, we’re re-defining what it means to play a WWII game,” said Mark Lamia, Studio Head for Treyarch. “We’re excited to give players a host of new enemies that employ entirely new tactics, as well as new, groundbreaking tools - like co-op and the flamethrower - to succeed in the epic fight.”

Call of Duty: World at War features cool co-operative play “No One Fights Alone”, mantra with up to four-players online for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, or two-player local split-screen on consoles, this game will also be supported on the Nintendo Wii which will also feature co-op mode for two players, what we like is the fact for the first time ever in the Call of Duty gaming players will see new single-player missions together for greater camaraderie and tactical execution, the co-op campaign will allow you to rank up and like the CoD 4 get many perks in competitive multiplayer by completing challenges and earning experience points, of course this is where the fun factor and addictive gameplay comes from. Whether playing competitively or cooperatively - if players are online with Call of Duty: World at War - they will always gain experience points. Based on a player’s experience rank and rank of the player’s friends, Call of Duty: World at War will scale dynamically to provide a deeper level of challenge.

Call of Duty: World at War is still in development for the Sony Playstation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and PC, the game will be released this fall of 2008, the game has not yet been rated by the ESRB, ok so we will see the game this fall but I was not happy with that so I done some digging. Apparently the game will be release December 31, 2008.For more information and exclusive updates about Call of Duty: World at War, visit www.callofduty.com

Are you looking forward to this game, or are you disappointed that it is based around WWII?

Battlefield: Bad Company release date today for Xbox 360 and PS3

June 23, 2008
Filed under Gaming, Sony Playstation 3, Xbox 360

It seems that the rules of the first-person shooter games are changing, when a player has been under attack in the past all they had to do was hide behind a sandbag or behind a wall. Well it seems that Battlefield: Bad Company changes all that, the game which has its release date today in the U.S will be available for the Xbox 360 as well as the Sony PS3. The thing is if you hide behind such an object in this latest first-person shooter, then you will find that you will now not be safe. Let’s say you are taking heavy fire, the first thing you would normally do is retreat to a house, well now the house can be taken out with a grenade or rocket launcher.

The original Battlefield was always for the PC, but Battlefield 2: Modern Combat changed that and made the jump to the next-gen console, the Xbox 360. Some gamers did enjoy the transition a little, but it seemed to lose a little something. However Battlefield: Bad Company is about to change all that, not only is it the first game in the series to have a story to it, but it is also the first game to utilize the all-new Frostbite engine. It is that software that makes it possible for a destructible environment.

The story behind Bad Company follows Private Preston Marlow, who you have to play; he is a new recruit to a division of the army known simply as Bad Company. The group is a misfit of soldiers, these consist of Sarge, Haggard and the love struck Sweetwater as well as Marlow. Each of these soldiers has their own personality, as well as some cool and funny dialogue. The first missions start of all innocent, but as the game progresses things get very hectic.

The game itself is very light-hearted, and it is that which hurts the games the most. The problem is the war is very intense however; all the characters in Bad Company what to do is joke around as well as make fun of each other. Some might like this sort of thing, but others will find this to be in bad taste. You do have to remember, that although the guys are at war, it does not mean that they have to be serious all the time. One thing is certain; this is one hell of a game, one that should be on your list to purchase.

Two hilarious videos of Battlefield Bad Company targeting Rainbow Six, Gears of War

Battlefield Bad Company hilarious video trailers
You have got to see these two videos because they will have you wetting yourselves, we all know about Battlefield: Bad Company which is stunning, but oh boy they are really mocking or should we say targeting Rainbow Six & Gears of War. When we watched these two videos shown below we absolutely wet ourselves, oh man we are still laughing now, this is what it all about, yes a little mocking and yes a little fun and why not.

The first video below you will see is the take on Gears of War unforgettable “Mad World” trailer, you will see B Company Crew coming up with their very own and of course much more happier musical injection of shortening bread, damn this one is so funny. The second video trailer is about the Rainbow Six parody, this is quiet funny as well, and nope this is not what we call stealth mission. This video does mock the over exaggerated charades-style communication style RS soldiers are known for. It is so good to see fun and laughter coming back, and EA and DICE should be given awards, we love the games, we love them and we really love the videos, in fact stuff the games make a movie.

Please do watch the videos below and let us know what you think, do you think they should make more? You still here, look below a little and watch away.

Will Metal Gear Solid 4 (MGS4) make you buy a Sony PS3?

June 16, 2008
Filed under Gaming, Sony Playstation 3

PS3 Daily said the other day that Metal Gear Solid 4 was Sony’s answer to Halo 3 and also showed us some new MGS4 gameplay videos, today we ask if Metal Gear Solid 4 will make you buy a Sony Playstation 3?

Having owned a PS3 for some time, I do not need to buy one but when the PS3 gets exclusive games and ones that are as big MGS then you got to think that this will increase sales. The amount of PS3’s sold for gamers getting MGS4 is the real question. This could be a massive increase or just minor.

If you do not own a PS3, will you buy one for MGS4?

As the game has now been released worldwide we will see the results of this new release within the next month or two. MGS4 does look pretty cool and some of the games features do look fun, these include being able to distract enemy soldiers by planting playboy magazines and the different ways Snake can use camouflage. The game is said to have a massive single player game, but with any game these days, it’s the online gameplay that is key to long-term success.

Let us know your thoughts of MGS4 and also check out some gameplay videos on PS3 Daily.

Cisco, Verizon and Wal-Mart help U.S. troops in Iraq on Mother’s Day

May 8, 2008

With Mothers Day coming up fast, its easy to get so involved in your own business to forget about the people that are trying to protect our country on Mother’s Day. The people I am talking about are the U.S. troops in Iraq, they have family as well and it’s nice to see companies doing their bit to help our troops keep in contact on this special day. See the press release below for information on what some big brands are doing to help.

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, Cisco, Verizon Business and Wal-Mart, along with SkyPort Global Communications and the USO (United Service Organizations), are helping to provide virtual family reunions for U.S. troops serving in Iraq. A lifelike, immersive video communications technology - known as Cisco® TelePresence - allows the troops to bridge the distance and speak to and see loved ones at home.

“Cisco TelePresence demonstrates the power of communicating and collaborating real-time as though you were meeting face-to-face,” said John Chambers, chairman and CEO of Cisco. “Our companies are very proud to join together to honor and recognize our troops and their loved ones. We hope military families will take advantage of this technology and connect with our service men and women overseas during the upcoming holidays.”

Rheanna Kitch, whose husband is serving in Iraq, commented: “I loved feeling like my husband was sitting right across the table from me. It makes this deployment a little bit easier being able to see my husband on a huge screen. Even though my sweetheart is halfway around the world, when I am in that room he is right beside me.”

The collaborative effort to support the troops includes the use of Cisco TelePresence to allow troops based in Iraq to connect with friends and family members back home. The free connections, using Verizon Business’ Private IP network and a SkyPort satellite uplink, are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and link two remote bases in Iraq to two Wal-Mart stores: one located near Camp Pendleton in Temecula, Calif., and one located near Fort Drum in Evans Mills, N.Y. Two specially equipped family-gathering rooms were built in the Wal-Mart stores and opened April 2. They will be available through July 6, spanning the upcoming holidays of Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Father’s Day and Independence Day.

“Verizon Business is proud of the technology we deploy to help members of the U.S. Armed Forces stay in touch with their families at home,” said John Killian, president of Verizon Business. “The women and men serving overseas make sacrifices every day, and we hope this effort will help them feel closer to their loved ones by being able to sit across from each other and talk - even though they are located at opposite ends of the world.”

Cisco TelePresence replicates face-to-face interaction so realistically that it feels as though everyone is in the same room, even though they may be thousands of miles apart. While videoconferencing has been intermittently available to service men and women, the Cisco TelePresence deployment represents the first lifelike communications of its kind between these particular troops and their families back home. Families from Camp Pendleton and Fort Drum are using the technology to reconnect with loved ones, see children and even hold virtual birthday parties.

“Getting to see my husband in Iraq really helps me,” said Mellisa Reynolds, who has used Cisco TelePresence in the Temecula, Calif. Wal-Mart to connect with her husband in Iraq. “It’s so comforting to go to the Wal-Mart store and be that close to him, as if he is right next to me. TelePresence makes it so much easier to communicate with him because I can see his facial expressions when he talks. You can’t see that in an e-mail or phone call.”

Rollin Ford, EVP and Wal-Mart’s chief information officer, said: “Wal-Mart is committed to supporting not only our troops but the entire military family, and we are proud to join with Verizon and Cisco to help connect military families with their loved ones serving in Iraq. Through TelePresence, our customers have the unique opportunity to support and connect with our men and women in uniform through a virtual face-to-face interaction.”

The Cisco TelePresence rooms are located at the Wal-Mart Store in Temecula, Calif. (32225 Highway 79 South, Temecula, Calif.) and at the Wal-Mart Store in Evans Mills, N.Y. (25737 US Route #11, LeRay, N.Y.)

Skyport has installed satellite ground links at two bases in Iraq where soldiers and marines can access a Cisco TelePresence system to have live conversations with family members and friends. This is the first example of Cisco TelePresence being deployed via satellite.

“We are honored to have been chosen by Cisco to participate in this effort to put our nation’s soldiers and marines in closer touch with the families they have left behind,” said Patrick Brant, president and CEO of Skyport.

What Rubbish: Kids Learn Killing in Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto IV (GTA 4)

May 7, 2008
Filed under Gaming, Sony Playstation 3, Xbox 360

We touched a little the other day on how video games are our children’s teaches and we also reported that Barack Obama shared this view, and he even highlighted the game Grand Theft Auto IV. Now it looks like CNN are taking the spotlight by attacking Rockstar’s GTA IV as a game that’s training our children to become killers. While it’s easy to understand their view, as a flying simulator game can train you to fly, a game that kills people could train you to kill.

Personally I believe that you are made a certain way, and if your going to be evil in real life, most times the world you are exposed to already with movies and news as it is, will be enough. The good news is most of us have common sense and would never think of acting out what we see in video games. CNN put it that the Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 game is teaching kids to “kill in a similar way to the recruits being trained by the military”.

Now having played games for years, I can tell you that GTA IV is in no way as detailed at killing, as the modern sim games are at flying. Saying that, kids should never be playing Grand Theft Auto IV, as it’s an 18 plus game, if they are playing, then it’s the parents that need locking up. CNN get really funny when, presenter Glenn Beck said, “It took 75 years and countless billions of dollars to train our soldiers to kill. Today, $60 buys your kid the same thing.”

The question us sensible people should ask is: Are CNN reporting that story to get public attention and make money, or do they really believe $60 for GTA 4 trains a kid to kill?

Abomination Trailer for Project Origin: Xbox 360, Sony PS3 and PC

This is the Abomination Trailer for Project Origin, which will be coming to the Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 games consoles and also on PC. If you loved F.E.A.R then you’re going to like Project Origin, which looks very similar and has nice and smooth graphics. Watch the game trailer below, lets hope they include the cloaked soldiers in this one.

Warhawk APC: new vehicle on Sony PS3, see the video

Warhawk APC: new vehicle on Sony PS3, see the video
Warhawk is getting a new vehicle, the APC and will be available from a new expansion packed called Operation Broken Mirror. The APC is a little faster than a tank and it has another great feature, it has a boost and it also holds 6 soldiers.

I remember how exited I got when the dropship became available, and the APC is just as exiting. And like the dropship it is more than a transport, it is very tough so it can ram almost any vehicle or emplacement, one word of warning though try not to ram a tank as the APC is not that tough.

The expansion pack will cost $8
