Technology to help feed the world in efficient ways
July 21, 2008

With technology improving faster than ever before we have to look at ways to help countries that need help in the most basic ways.
On Yanko Design we can see a concept that would help feed the world, it’s designed by Armand Leconte and you can see one image of the invention on this page.
Sci-fi screenplay writers will be cracking their knuckles if this latest concept by Armand Leconte becomes reality. He envisions vast fields of crops being harvested by autonomous, cold hearted, damn-dirty robots! Wait, sorry…just watched iRobot.
Seriously though, feeding the world is becoming more and more difficult and finding new more efficient ways to grow and harvest crops is a huge priority around the globe.
Armand’s “AllTrack” tractor of the future (add sci-fi eerie noises) was designed to optimise the number of vehicles needed, as well as the consumption of energy, and save storage space. Freeing up more space for corn or burrito bushes.

Tom Cruise to be godfather to Jennifer Lopez’s twins
April 7, 2008

It has been announced that Jennifer Lopez wants Tom Cruise to be godfather to her twins Max and Emme despite their differences in religious beliefs.
A source said that “Tom is delighted. Marc wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to have a Scientologist as the kids’ godfather, especially as he and Jennifer are both Catholic. But in the end Jennifer managed to convince him to agree.”
As we know Tom is an active follower of bizarre sci-fi cult Scientology and he has already showered the twins with gifts by spending $200,000 on designer christening outfits for the twins and has also ordered a giant fish tank for their nursery.
Do you think that Tom will make a great Godfather?

First BD-Live Sony Blu-ray’s: The 6th Day & Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story
March 25, 2008
Filed under Electronics, Film News, High Definition

The first two BD-Live titles are being released from Sony and while I could think of many other Blu-ray movies I like more, the fact is the first two will be Arnold Schwarzenegger’s sci-fi thriller The 6th Day and musical Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story.
The US release date will be April 8th, this fits just fine with the Sony PS3 2.20 firmware launch and gives millions of Playstation 3 owners the ability to use Profile 2.0 (internet connectivity and Blu-ray).
Although HD DVD lost, it did offer picture-in-picture and Internet connectivity while Blu-ray did not offer these with Profile 1.0. Now those owners of Profile 1.0 Blu-ray players may not be able to use these new features in Profile 2.0 without buying a new player. (Unless you own a PS3 that is).
What would your choice of been for the first two BD-Live Blu-ray discs?

Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles: did you help save the show?

Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles has aired its two part finale, and it is not sure if the show will be back for a second season. The show has not had great viewing figures, so did you do your bit in trying to help save the show by watching the season finale.
I have to admit Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles is not exactly the best show on TV at the moment, but I had to try and get in to it just to see how good the effects of the cyborgs are compared to that of the big screen.
The thing is if there is a second season of T:SCC, I do not think I will be watching it. How can they make rubbish like this and stop making superb Sci-Fi programs like Stargate is beyond me.
