Catholic Church vs. Modern Religion Scientology

April 2, 2008

I am not a religious man; however I do not go a day without someone talking about The Church of Scientology or the Catholic Church. The funny thing is most people also dismiss something or criticize something before they have learned anything about it, and I am guilty of that like a number of you are.

I have always made fun of the Church of Scientology assuming it to be some sort of cult, but naive people do that. Trust me I am never going to become religious, but when you look deeper into the workings of this new modern religion it gets you thinking that it is not that bad after all.

The thing is when you join the Catholic Church you are joining a huge organization, one of the richest in fast. But are you just a number to them, I don’t know, however when you want to join the Church of Scientology you work with people one-on-one to help to give you a better life. Well that is what is says in L. Ron Hubbard’s book Dianetics.

As with any religion there are always good and bad points, if you was going to choose a new faith would it be the old Catholic Church or the new modern religion The Church of Scientology.

Apple are always the first to patent something and they are on the ball with this one, their new plan is to develop a fully fledged digital fitness companion system based around their Apple iPhone and iPod Touch which is basically aimed at helping people live a healthier lifestyle.

The pictures we have here of the patent filing are just a couple from the many that AppleInsider have which you can see if you click the source link below. The patent filings are showing many ideas for the system and what it will be capable of including rewards tracker, component for group activities, iTunes-like software application, hardware-based heart rate and other sensors.

It is in simple terms a much more advanced version of the Nike + iPod system, this new system from Apple will actually “interview” the user within the application to find out exactly what their fitness goals are like fitness interests (such as jogging, yoga and swimming), desired activity level, desired workout schedule, weight goals etc.

The lifestyle companion system will also interview the user about non-health related topics like identity, spirituality, financial condition, relationships, career, religion, interests, hobbies, environment and many other things.

Once the interview is over and the process is completed the lifestyle companion systems software will create a workout regiment based around their feedback on goals and fitness interests, this will be fantastic because it will be different for each individual.

And you don’t have to be a Scientologist to be a friend of Tom Cruise. I am a Christian. I am a student of all religions. And I respect all people and all paths”.

Former Scientologist: Katie Holmes Was Picked For Tom Cruise after Audition Process
It has been reported by a former Scientologist that Tom Cruise’s marriage to Katie Holmes was set up by the Church of Scientology after a series of fake casting calls for actresses including Jennifer Garner and Jessica Alba failed to deliver a suitable wife.

They got married after just 20 months of knowing each other and now have one-year-old daughter Suri.

Ex-Scientologist Marc Headley who used to produce promotional films for the controversial religion has said that Katie was set up with Tom after he split from Penelope Cruz in 2004 after three years together.

What do you think?

Did they hold castings to find Tom Cruise’s wife?
