Hacker Gary McKinnon could be facing 70 years in jail after he lost his last attempt to fight against deportation. 42-year old McKinnon was named as the world’s biggest computer hacker after he had broke into secret files of the American Defense.

Space Cube: possibly the smallest PC in the World
August 28, 2008 by Nikki

Have you ever thought about having a smaller computer, one that can literally fit into the palm of your hand? Well there is such a computer which is only available in Japan called a Space Cube.
This really could be the smallest computer in the world surely? Its dimensions are 2 inches squared, and it is made by the Shimafuji Corporation.
If we take a look at what makes the Space Cube the powerful computer it is, we find a top clock speed of 300Mhz and 16GB of on-board flash system. It runs on a Linux OS from a 1GB CompactFlash card.
The thing is with the Space Cube is unless you have a vacation booked in Space then it really will be no good to you, as this computer is designed to work in space only, it has some weird and wonderful ports, and there is a socket called the Space Wire port where it can link up to systems such as NASA, JAXA and RSA all space agencies of the US, Japan and Europe.
If you still thinking you want one of these it would set you back around £1,500.

Sprint’s Samsung Instinct costs just $130 with $100 mail-in rebate

It seems that the whole world has gone touch-screen mad on cell phones; another one to add to that list is the Samsung Instinct. The handset is available right now from Sprint, the original price was set for $200, but if you opt for a 2 year contract you will receive a $100 mail-in rebate. It is no secret that Samsung hope that the Instinct will be the iPhone killer, so they had to adjust their price accordingly. I do think it strange that the price has been reduced, since Apple said that the new 3G iPhone will be cheaper than the original iPhone.
It seems that it is not just Samsung who like the new Instinct; this cell phone is the winner of 5 awards at the CTIA WIRELESS 2008 Conference. The Sprint Samsung Instinct takes touch-screen phones to a new level. The two biggest highlights for the handset are Emails and GPS Navigation. The phone also offers High-speed web browsing as well as a host of entertainment services. You can also Personalize your Instinct with one-touch access to your favorite services.
The phone also uses EV-DO Rev. A, this system is equivalent to AT&T’s 3G speeds, this is great if you love browsing the web as well as checking all your emails while on the move. The only downside which I feel that the Samsung Instinct has, is how you have to activate the phone with an unlimited data plan, this is likely to cost at least $70 per month. It does look as though the age of the very expensive handset is now behind us.

If you would like to participate in the teleconference then all reporters must contact the Chandra Press Office on 617-496-7998 or you can even email them at mwatzke@cfa.harvard.edu. BlackBerry Curve 8330 hits Sprint today

For those of you who are on the Sprint carrier you would have heard many rumors for the release date of the BlackBerry Curve 8330, well we can now tell you that the suggested date for this handset to hit Sprint will be May 9 which is today. You can have one of these BlackBerry’s in your hand for a price of just $179.99 that will be on a contract with rebates; it seems that Sprint wants to reward their customers for purchasing the latest in phone technology.
The BlackBerry Curve 8330 will help you bring your business and personal needs together in one handset, as this is the next generation BlackBerry. The 8330 is the smallest of the BlackBerry handsets which still features a full QWERTY keyboard; the phone has sexy styling thanks to a titanium-finish. Many BlackBerry’s do their job well but I have to say do not look all that nice to look at, this is not the case with the BlackBerry Curve 8330, the handset has that perfect balance of functionality along with usability and design.
This handset allows you to not only make calls, but to also send personal and corporate email as well as GPS Navigation, expandable memory and enhanced web browsing. The Curve 8330 is not all about work though; you sometimes need to chill out, which is where the multimedia side comes in. You are able to enjoy viewing your images as well as checking out your videos and playing your music.

In the UK over 300,000 magnet toys are being recalled because there are fears that children could possible swallow them, the toys have magnets attached to them which could be dangerous.
Mega Brands the Canadian firm have said that around 2.4 million of the Chinese-made action figures had been withdrawn from sale worldwide and the production of MagnaMan and Magtastik toys have been stopped following these safety concerns.
So far a three year old boy need medical treatment to remove a magnet from his nasal cavity and even an 18 month old boy had a magnet in his mouth, luckily enough the boy did not swallow it.
Just so you know there has been no incidents in the UK but have had reports of the magnets on the toys coming loose so it is just as well they are recalling them.
