Sony has recently released its newest Blu-ray Disc players in the UK. The BDP-S350 and BDP-S550 were first announced in February and they both claim to “provide movie fans with the ultimate full HD home cinema experience” which is mainly down to the large amount of innovative features.
David Walstra, director of home video marketing at Sony Europe states, “An advanced Blu-ray Disc player like the BDP-S350 or BDP-S550 is a must for every HDTV owner because it delivers the best possible 1080p high-definition video and incredible sound quality, while unlocking next-generation features that you just won’t get from DVD, downloads or video-on-demand.
Here is a summary of some of the main features in both players.
Sony BDP-S350:
- Includes 24p True Cinema.
- BonusView
- Sony’s precision Cinema HD Upscale
- Precision Drive HD.
- BD-Live Ready, Allowing access to special content not included on the disc such as exclusive trailers and interviews.
Sony BDP-S550: (Includes all the features from above also)
- BD-Live and BD-Java firmware already built in.
- Quick start up mode sees the player start up in approximately six seconds.
- Includes 1GB of exchangeable USB storage to save downloaded BD-Live content from the internet.
- Support for DTS-HD Master Audio Decoder and 7.1 channel analogue audio output, which means it can be connected directly to a legacy home-theatre receiver without HDMI.
In terms of pricing, there is no pricing available for the UK, but in the US the BDP-S350 sells online for about $399 and below, while the BDP-S550 costs around the $500 mark. New video of SOCOM gameplay for Sony PS3
July 19, 2008
Filed under Game Video & Trailers, Gaming, Sony Playstation 3

This is a new a new 5-minute video of SOCOM on the Sony PS3, the gameplay in this video has received mixed views from gamers in the normal way.
You can watch the new video of SOCOM below this post; these graphics seem to be an improvement from the last gameplay videos we saw.
The previews we saw from E3 also confirmed the improvement in graphics and the word is that things are still being polished, so the outlook is pretty good.
You can join in the discussions on Game Trailers about this game here, its nice when games get some good feed back, that is the whole point of these gameplay videos.
Although you got to laugh at what some gamers have said, one gamer had this to say about the new gameplay video:
I hate games that when u aim and shot it starts going up man I hate that
It looks like some gamers do not know what “Recoil” is, this game reminds me a little of COD4 and that can only be a good thing.
Horror Movie for Sprint’s Samsung Instinct: Win $10,000
June 25, 2008

When it comes to online marketing of any product it can be done in many ways and these days we are seeing this taken to more extremes with every new product launch. The Cloverfield viral marketing campaign was very impressive, now Sprint’s Samsung Instinct has taken the movie theme for their latest cellphone online marketing campaign.
Below this post you can see a video that may have already started (just click replay), this video shows a Horror movie theme that promotes the new Sprint Samsung Instinct phone. On their site they have many other movie themes promoting this uberphone of the moment, these include cops, chase, spy and trailers.
This kind of marketing really makes me smile as it can be very corny sometimes, but they are still excellent as they make you remember and even come up as a point of discussion with friends and family, just what Sprint plan. This marketing campaign by the brand is just the start, they are also offering the first 1,000 users $20 to incorporate the Instinct into a home video posted on YouTube.
That kind of marketing can really help reach millions more users online, Sprint want you to make a home movie like many YouTube users do everyday and also just by including the Samsung Instinct you get to make some money as well. This contest is going to start on June 30 and forget the small prize of $20; there is some real big money up for grabs. You can also win $10,000 if you make the best home video with a touch of Sprint’s Samsung Instinct.
You can find out more on Sprint’s website, will you be entering this competition and feel free to share ideas you have for the video or maybe not.

World Exclusive Video Trailer of Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels: Is this for you?
June 24, 2008
Filed under Game Video & Trailers, Gaming, Nintendo Wii

The video below is pretty nice when you watch it and that is all thanks to the power of Wiimote, the announcement of Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels may be exciting to some but to some not the case but the fact that it is a immersive Wiimote-as-lightsaber game surely this puts a little fun into the game.
Personally this game is not on my top ten list, I have the Wii, the 360 and the PS3 and always by titles and this Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels is not one I will be buying; it is not what I call a fantastic game. Ok it seems fun but seems a lot of hard work for me. Many of you will hate the fact George Lucas is not doing it, this would not make a good movie not alone a good game, ok yes a lightsaber game for Wii is a good idea but come on we need something that actually looks a little bit like Star Wars. I love Star Wars to bits and I mean I really love it, but for some reason this game does not get my juices flowing.
I would love to know what you think about Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels, please watch the world exclusive video trailer below and then let me know what you think.
Is this game for you?
Two hilarious videos of Battlefield Bad Company targeting Rainbow Six, Gears of War
June 23, 2008
Filed under Game Video & Trailers, Gaming

You have got to see these two videos because they will have you wetting yourselves, we all know about Battlefield: Bad Company which is stunning, but oh boy they are really mocking or should we say targeting Rainbow Six & Gears of War. When we watched these two videos shown below we absolutely wet ourselves, oh man we are still laughing now, this is what it all about, yes a little mocking and yes a little fun and why not.
The first video below you will see is the take on Gears of War unforgettable “Mad World” trailer, you will see B Company Crew coming up with their very own and of course much more happier musical injection of shortening bread, damn this one is so funny. The second video trailer is about the Rainbow Six parody, this is quiet funny as well, and nope this is not what we call stealth mission. This video does mock the over exaggerated charades-style communication style RS soldiers are known for. It is so good to see fun and laughter coming back, and EA and DICE should be given awards, we love the games, we love them and we really love the videos, in fact stuff the games make a movie.
Please do watch the videos below and let us know what you think, do you think they should make more? You still here, look below a little and watch away.
