Hydrogen Cars 40 Year Wait: President Bush and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s views

May 12, 2008

Both Arnold Schwarzenegger and President George W. Bush have something in common with some of the biggest automakers, they feel that the future is with hydrogen-powered fuel cell technology, as this kind of fuel produces zero emissions. However; with all things there is always a downside to something that looks to benefit and that is the fact many experts in the field believe that it will be more than 40 years before vehicles that run on hydrogen has a meaningful impact on the fight against global warming.

This does worry me as we just can’t wait that long as our environment needs to see changes long before that. The funny thing is Arnold Schwarzenegger backs hydrogen-powered fuel cell technology, but he still insists in driving around in a big Hummer, and then there is George Bush who did not want to sign up to the kyoto agreement. One why doesn’t Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger get himself a family salon that runs on clean diesel or a hybrid, and as for President Bush, it just seems too little too late.

I am all up for Hydrogen vehicles, but this kind of technology is seen as a long term solutions, there is so much more we can do that will see more instant results. One of the easiest ways to see quick results is by changing your driving styles, so no driving fast and breaking hard, and too make sure that you have the correct amount of air in your tires.

HUMMER have launched their HT2 solid candy-bar cell phone

April 8, 2008

If you have a HUMMER you need a cool looking phone to go with it, and the HT1 was the first attempt. However there is a second-gen handset coming called the HT2 and is a solid candy-bar cell phone. The HUMMER phone is made by ModeLabs, the French telecom company.

The old HT1 model was a slider version, however ModeLabs have decided to go for the candy bar design and wait for it is yellow in color. The case is made from metal, keeping with the sturdy design like the HUMMER vehicle. The phone has a 176 x 220 TFT display along with a 2 megapixel camera.

The HUMMER HT2 comes with Bluetooth and has 11MB of in-built memory; however this can be upgraded by using a microSD card.

The HUMMER HT2 will be available in both Russia and Latin America first; we are not sure how long it will be before North America will get their hands on this handset.

Go green with the 2009 Hummer H2 and SUT: both are E85 compatible

A gas station in Dallas is installing nine pumps at a cost of half a million dollars, these pumps will dispense E85, E10, and biodiesel. The business man involved is a HUMMER dealer, and has had the pumps fitted next to his HUMMER dealership.

This does tell us that the 2009 HUMMER HT and HT SUT are both to be E85 compatible, and you do not have to be Hummer owner to be able to fill your vehicle at the station with Flex-fuel. By 2010 GM has said that all HUMMER’s will be running on E85 bio-fuel, the automaker has said that they will have 15 models running on this green fuel next year.

1:1 scale radio-controlled HUMMER H3: is this the best RC ever?
I have seemed some nice RC cars in my time like Tamiya Blackfoot, which is a 1:10 scale Ford F-150 monster truck. Well if you thought that was awesome, you are sadly mistaken as there is a bigger monster in town.

Some guy has built a radio-controlled HUMMER H3, which has a 1:1 scale. The RC car was designed and built by Dr. James Brighton from Cranfield University. The HUMMER H3 is able to climb a 407mm vertical wall and can even traverse a 40% side slope.
