London Motor Show Update: Rendering of the Ford Focus RS
March 14, 2008 by Peter

It seems that Top Gear have been a little busy, we see that they have done a rendering of the new production Ford Focus RS. This image will have to keep you going for a while, only until the car is shown at the upcoming London Motor Show.
Looking at this rendering you can’t help but fall in love with it, seeing this sexy hot hatch stirs the youth inside me. It is still speculation as to the spec of the new Ford Focus RS will be, however it is thought that the engine will produce about 280-300bhp.
The engine as you would expect is turbocharged and has five cylinders, all the power is then sent to the front wheels. However I can’t help but wonder why Ford did not go for an all-wheel drive, I think that this could prove a problem for the Focus RS.

The temperatures are on the rise outside and so are sales of Ford Focus for Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited. The dynamic and confident compact car registered a double-digit sales increase in July – 13.3 per cent – over the same month’s sales last year.
“Fuel efficiency is certainly on consumers’ minds today” said Barry Engle, president and CEO, Ford of Canada. “Along with our full lineup of crossover utility vehicles – including Ford Flex with segment-leading fuel economy – and compact truck Ford Ranger, Ford Focus provides a stylish and sporty solution to high prices at the pump.”
In July, Ford of Canada’s overall sales decreased 13.9 per cent to 18,171 units. Total truck sales were down 12.2 per cent at 13,554 units and total car sales of 4,617 units mark an 18.5 per cent decrease compared to last July.
Ford’s selling well in July - The Ford Focus sales rise 13%, Lincoln Town Car sales increase 266% over last July, Grand Marquis sales up 61% in July, Ford Escape Hybrid registered its best July sales on record with a 171% increase and the Ford Ranger sales are up 15%.

20 million American Idol viewers to see 2009 Ford Focus coupe

With American Idol getting around 20 million viewers on a Wednesday night show, it’s the perfect time for a company to show off a new product and this is just what Ford are doing for the first time on prime time television. The May 14 show of American Idol will also debut the 2009 Ford Focus coupe, updates to this new Focus coupe have been designed with help from customer feedback and they include standard 17-inch aluminum wheels on the SES series, a new roof-line spoiler, new front and rear fascias. On the performance side, the 2009 Ford Focus coupe four-speed automatic transmission will have a quicker acceleration thanks to a new final drive ratio and the 5-speed manual versions will get increased horsepower.
The new 2009-coupe model can only make the Focus 88 percent increase in retail sales over the last year improve. Having had a small car for the last two years, I can agree that small cars today are not like they were before, they make more use of the limited space and have a lot more horse power for their size. The Ford Focus is much of the same; it’s a little car that delivers in a big way for customers. The 35-mpg is nice on the pocket, a sportier coupe and the SYNC feature is one that makes you love Ford. If you watch FOX’s Wednesday broadcast of American Idol, you will see the 45-second music video that shows the remaining contestants and a new Focus coupe. Let us know what you think of the show and new ford.
