Well the guys from Auto magazine have been over to Maranello with a video camera, and have recorded some footage of the Ferrari California. It is great to now see this car up close and personal.
The video shows you all angles of the car, as well as an interview with product development director Roberto Corradi. He tells us that the new Ferrari has been made easier to drive as well as being softly styled to accommodate female customers

Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series in the flesh

There have not been many pictures of the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series in the flesh. There have been a number of press release photos, but never photos of the car in person.
Not many people have seen this supercar in the flesh, but the guys at Autoblog have and they seemed really exited about the fact.
Autoblog were heading to the debut of the Ferrari California in Monterey. While there their eyes turned and saw something menacing, it was the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series.
Mercedes Benz did not have any problem with the guys taking plenty of photos of their new supercar. I bet Ferrari were not too happy about Mercedes stealing their thunder.
Head over to Autoblog for a range of photos.

Ferrari Enzo successor will be their lightest and quickest supercar

It seems that the guys over at Maranello have their work cut out for them, as they are now working on a successor to the Ferrari Enzo. Everybody knows just how jaw dropping the Enzo was in looks and performance, and Ferrari have said that this successor will be their lightest and fastest two-seater super they have ever developed. It seems that Ferrari are now thinking how other car makers have been doing for years “Less is More.”
Ferrari has had to respond to the current environment issues, and have now been working hard to improve fuel economy by 40 percent as well as reducing emissions by 25 percent. These are uncharted waters for the Italian automaker; they have always gone for faster cars while fuel efficiency has always seemed to suffer. Well it seems that the guys over at Maranello have found a way to do this without compromising its reputation for performance, it seems that we are about to see a greener Ferrari.
As yet Ferrari have not given the Mini Enzo a name but what we do know is, it will arrive in 2010 and will have a 600-horsepower engine and will only weigh 2,200 pounds, that is 660 pounds lighter than the Enzo. As yet people have no idea as to what the new Ferrari will look like, but many assume that it could take some of its styling features of the picture above.
The new car will have an aluminum space frame, and it is thought that the Ferrari V10 engine will be used. Figures say that the new Ferrari will go from 0 to 62 mph (100 kph) in 3.65 seconds, and should be able to reach a top speed of 225 mph (362 kph). As the car is so light, it should have one of the best power-to-weight ratios of any car on the road. As you would expect this will not come cheap, there will only be 300 made and is expected to cost at least $500,000.
Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano catches fire: from supercar to hotrod

When we think of Ferrari we think of supercars that has that certain sex appeal, no one makes a fast car quite like the Italians. However it seems as if the prancing horse has a little issue with catching fire, the car this time was a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano which self-ignited when it came to a stop. I would hate to be in the driver’s shoes right now, as it was not even his car. The car was being driven by a worker for Romans International supercar garage in Banstead, UK, while he was driving the dream machine he could hear a strange sound coming from the rear, which was quickly followed by a huge amount of smoke and then the fire.
The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano worth £250,000 is now a write-off, thankfully though the Ferrari was still covered under its warranty. However, this is no consolation to Ferrari owners around the world who must now be wondering if their prized possession will catch alight. You would think that a company like Ferrari would never suffer from any such problem like this, the worrying this is there have been a number of documented cases of these supercars catching fire. I do not understand why Ferrari has not found out why this is happening, many believe that the engine is overheating. Ferrari run one off, if not the best Formula 1 teams so you would have thought that they would have solved this issue by now.

Race Driver Grid versus Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Video: who is the winner?
May 14, 2008 by Mark
Filed under Game Video & Trailers, Gaming

This video we have below is very funny indeed especially because it is all about the games Race Driver Grid versus Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, the way the video has been made is basically saying Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is rubbish (well that is what I see). You have got to watch it then post your opinions.
Back on April 25th someone called JudgeRice put together a video of TOCA Race Driver game GRID versus the Playstation’s Gran Turismo 5: Prologue. Right on a personal view I have personally played both of these games and must say love Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and was a little optimistic about GRID but my views changed. There is no need for me to go right into details here but Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is missing damage and speed if you ask me, nether the less it is still a hot game and I am addicted especially because I want the formula 1 Ferrari car.
GRID on the other hand is fast and what is more it has DAMAGE did I say that loud enough, oh yes damage which makes the game more playable and the fun filled factor, my best part of the game has to be the fact it has drifting which is brilliant, just so you know I have played the demo version of GRID and loved it. Got to admit though the graphics are so much better on GT5.
Please watch the video below then please do comment on what you think?
Carbonyte to stretch Bugatti Veyron, Lamborghini Murcielago, Koeniggsegg and Smart car
April 14, 2008 by Peter

Carbonyte is a British bespoke vehicle manufacturer who you might remember from last year did their version of a stretched Ferrari 360 Modena F1 ‘limousine. This car could still manage to do 170mph from its 400bhp engine.
Well now Carbonyte are back and they have a list of cars that want to stretch, and these are some of the best supercars in the world. How would you like to see a stretched Bugatti Veyron, Smart Car, Lamborghini Murcielago, McLaren SLR Supercar, or even a Koeniggsegg CCR. Belive it or not, when Carbonyte strech these vehicles they do not lose much of their top speed.

Matthew McConaughey rumored to star in Magnum P.I. movie?

I know that the rumor of a Magnum P.I. movie has been doing the rounds for almost two years now. Well now there are fresh rumors, one of which is that Matthew McConaughey could end up playing Thomas Magnum an ex-Navy Seal who is now a P.I.
Although the idea of a P.I. walking around Hawaii wearing an Hawaiian shirt did not sound cool, I for one loved it. The best thing was his Ferrari 308 GTS that he drove.
A script is now rumored to be floating around written by Rawson Thurber, you know the guy who gave us Dodgeball. It is thought that at this moment Matthew McConaughey is now reading the script. Don’t expect Tom Selleck to make a cameo in the new Magnum movie, as he has feels that the role should just die out.

Porsche 911 voted Ultimate car of the 80s: do you agree?

When I was growing up in the 80’s which I have to say were the best years of my life, there were a number of great cars on our roads and on the TV. The Ferrari 308 from Magnum P.I or the Ferrari Daytona from Miami Vice, however my favorite car had to be the Lamborghini Countach.
OK I have grown up a little since then and understand how badly made the supercar was, however when I was young it just looked so cool. In a recent HPI Limited poll to find the ultimate of the 80’s car, the vehicle that was at the top was the Porsche 911.
If you had your choice, what would be your ultimate car of the 80’s?

Ferrari 599 vs. F40: old and new battle it out who will win the ultimate race

I have seen some cool races in my time, but none have been as adrenaline pumping as this Ferrari 599 vs. F40. This ultimate race pits the old guy against the new guy, and I must say it was great to watch.
You would think that the new Ferrari 599 would leave the Ferrari F40 for dust, but the old guy still shows that it has plenty of life left in it. In the Ferrari 599 things look effortless and composed, whereas in the F40 it seems as if there is so much going on. Give me the F40 any day, which is what driving is all about, you get to feel everything that the road throws at you.
Finally a Ferrari Motorcycle: well a 1:12 scale model anyway, damn
March 26, 2008 by Peter

There is no shortage of Italian built motorcycles, however there is just one Auto Company that we wish would produce a motorbike and that is Ferrari. Could you imagine if you had a superbike with a prancing horse on the front.

Well it seems like you can now get your hands on a Ferrari bike, ok a 1:12 scale model, damn those images they did fool me for a second. If Ferrari was to produce a superbike, it would look a little like this model. The original model was a Yamaha kit from Tamiya; however it has had a few modifications.
Let us hope that the guys at Maranello are looking and decide it is time to produce vehicles with two-wheels as well as their road cars.

F1 rumors: Fernando Alonso moving to Ferrari in 2009
March 26, 2008 by Peter
Filed under Motorsports, News, Sports News

Gone are the days when F1 was all about the racing, it seems that all the action goes on in the courts like last year or behind closed doors with future driver deals. The world of Formula 1 is dominated by rumors, and the latest is that Fernando Alonso could be moving to Ferrari in 2009.
The two time world champion has a two-year deal with Renault which would see him with the team until the end of 2009; however he does have an early get out clause. If Renault does not perform well then Fernando Alonso is free to move on, and it seems as if Ferrari are showing interest.
At the moment Ferrari have Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa; the F1 team is more than happy with current world champ Raikkonen however it seems as if things are not so good for Felipe Massa. The problem is since traction control was banned; Massa is having a hard time controlling his car. So if he does not get to grips with his machine, you could be seeing Fernando Alonso in a Ferrari. This would be great for the team, as they would have two world champions driving for them.

Ok so I know that people will be getting exited over the fact that a Ferrari F2007 F1 car will feature in the much anticipated GT5 Prologue Sony PS3 game. Well we have a video of actual game footage, so you can see the Ferrari Formula 1 car in action.
There is only one problem with this though, it is not a McLaren, and I would have loved to have a drive around in Lewis Hamilton’s car. I hate Ferrari, McLaren all the way.

Husmen 699 GTO: renderings of this future Ferrari concept car
March 12, 2008 by Peter

I think I have fallen in love. Ok not with a woman that would not be fair on my wife, but with the Husmen 699 GTO. There is nothing better than looking at renderings of future concept cars and this one has been designed by Emre Husmen who is a design student at IED.
While looking closely at the design I can see hints of a couple of Ferrari’s from the old 250 GTO to the new Ferrari 599 GTB. Hey I think I can almost see a bit of Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione in the car as well.
The Husmen 699 GTO will have a carbon fiber body and have V8 twin-supercharged, this will run on biofuel. This concept will also have hydraulic suspension, great if you have to go over speed bumps. This concept could become reality as Husmen are in talks with a coachbuilder from Italy.
