Every week there seems to be another recall, if it is not a toy it is a car or SUV. We have recently had recalls from Ford and Toyota and the latest recall is the Jeep Wrangler, models built from 2007 to 2008. Fiat Doblo to Challenge Ford Transit Connect

Positive Auto Sales even after Cash for Clunkers

The first full month auto sales are in, one month after the end of the governments Cash for Clunkers scheme or CARS. The auto industry had expected sales to fall dramatically, but that fall to their surprise did not happen. Nine auto brands said that their September sales were more positive compared to the same period last year. Read more

Chrysler Financial is first auto company to repay government loans
According to reports from Reuters, Chrysler Financial has become the first auto company in the U.S. to pay back its loan of $1.5 billion, which they had received from the U.S. Department of Treasury. The loan, which was taken out in January, was to help the company fund vehicle loans, as well as offer incentive programs to Chrysler customers. Read more

Diesel TDI tops VW Jetta Sportwagen sales

Volkswagen share a different opinion to the major carmakers in the U.S., Chrysler, Ford and general Motors do not believe that there is market for mainstream diesel vehicles, but VW do not believe that this is correct. Germany’s state bank rejects Porsche loan request

Porsche has to be doing something wrong, they are one automaker that is profitable and have a huge stake in Volkswagen. The most puzzling thing is, cash is in short supply for the German company and have approached Germany’s state bank for a loan of maker’s 1.75 billion euro ($2.45 billion USD), but the request has been denied. GM Files Documents In Court: New Chrysler to honor pre-bankruptcy debt

It is being reported that General Motors has filed documents in court against New Chrysler; GM hopes that they will force Chrysler into honoring its full pre-bankruptcy debt of $531,275. We reported in an earlier post that the deal with Chrysler and Fiat was allowed to proceed; the deal with both automakers is now done. This means that the Italian automaker now own a majority of Chrysler’s assets. Fiat will now plan to open most of Chrysler’s factories by June; Chrysler now faces a much brighter future. Read more
