Bought at Staples for Black Friday and returned that same weekend. Even after formatting all pictured to 800×480, the frame after a short while randomly decided to rotate them 90 or even 180 degrees for display. As well as attempting to show a landscape format picture in portrait format.

I noticed it even did this to the standard pictures that came with it. I can’t say if this is an issue with this particular model or if the one I had was simply defective.

As it was intended as a gift for my a technical parents, the problems encountered were not acceptable.

The same problem as described above. It works, but sometimes it rotates the picture 90 degrees spontaneously. It is very annoying.

I bought it at Staples too, but it was during my visit of the USA, and now I am in Russia, so it is difficult to return the frame.

I unscrewed the case and disconnected the keyboard part from the main PCB. But after this procedure the frame still works in the same manner, sometimes rotating the picture. So I returned the connector to its place.

I would rather have no rotating function at all than to have it working spontaneously. Could anyone give me any idea how to fix the issue or at least to work it around?

You can try contacting their support via email. They don’t seem to have a firmware update online but maybe they will have one in the future.
