The Vivitar DVR 840XHD camcorder measures 117 x 56 x 65mm and includes 64MB of internal memory, a Digital Still Camera Mode, 5x Optical Zoom and 3.0-inch LCD screen.
This camcorder also has a SD/MMC card slot, HDMI video out, Motion Detection, Video Stabilization and records in a high definition 1280 x 720 resolution.

This camera isn’t very good. The one I got was the last one they had in the back. There is no lens cap or lens cover for this camera. Unless I got a defective one, the video was not true 720p. It was very fuzzy. I am taking it back tomorrow for an exchange, if that one still has this problem I will ask for a full refund.

Vivitar DVR 840XHD is great camera i have buyed from radio shack for 170 , good deal quality of video is great.
i tested this camera believed or not i have second camera from sony dsr11 quality of video is almost same.
i can chalange anyone who says this camera is not good
for event video production.
if you know videography and film lighting this camera
is great for short film shooting, camera stabilzation works well or even better than sony or cannon.
dont be fulled the brice 170 dollar this camera shouild be
1000 or more next couple of weeks i will post vimeo short movei about this camera.
out door this camera does excellent job
indoor use good lighting for this camera.
stabilzation is very good
sound is ok
you can sdhc up to 32g mine uses 8g
still picture very crisp better than some pro cameras from competetors.
over all quality of video is great

I love this camera…it has good focus great quality but the sound is not in sync with the video when i load it on my laptop.I had to download a whole buch of things for my laptop but it only worked for 3 days and then went back to cutting off the sound!When i use a different camera it works fine with uploading and playing it back on my laptop but this camera just isnt working!I want to take it back but its already been a week.DON’T BUY THIS CAMERA IT IS A WASTE OF YOUR MONEY!!!

I just tried out the new Vivatar 840xhd and I am very disappointed. I cannot get the sound and video to sync when downloading to my PC (Windows XP). I see that the previous reviewer had the same issue. Mt previous camcorder (Canon) did not have this issue. Also, the still pictures I took were very grainy and unusable. I may need to return this camcorder. It seemed like a good deal at the time but I guess you get what you pay for (sometimes not even that!). Buyer beware.
