Gavin DURUS Road Bike Reviews

This was my first road bike and being new to the sport I did not want to drop 800+ for an entry level bike. I decided to go with the Durus after comparing the components to those of Trek’s, Specialized and other name brand bikes. I could not be happier with my decision, not only did I have money left over for the other essentials (pedals, shoes, jersey) but I found it every bit as light and responsive as my friends Gian OCR. Bottom line is, this is a great bike and will last me many seasons to come. Also, I’ve got a multiday touring ride planned for this summer and found that by simply upgrading the wheel set this bike can easily handle the abuse a long distance weighted ride acn place on it.

I recently decided to take up the sport of cycling; however, I did not feel comfortable enough to spend $1000 or more on an entry level road bike, so i decided to buy a Gavin Durus instead, and am I glad I decided to take this route. This bike is great for any beginner to the sport. it has great handling and great response. It works great on tight curves, it comes with Shimano 2200 STI Integrated Brake/Shifter, and it is also a very attractive bicycle. The only thing I would recommend changing on this bike is the saddle as mine ripped from the sides after just a few rides; however, everything else works great.

Overall, this is a great entry level bike for those who are not ready to drop the big bucks on a name brand model.

I purchased the Durus and have put about 700 miles on it and recently road it accross the state of Iowa, Only problems experienced were loose spokes.

I purchased a Gavin Durus in early July. I’ve put over 1000 miles on it this season. I’m very happy with my bike. I would recommend the durus for anyone looking to get into cycling and not wanting to spend major $$. It’s a very good bike for the price.
