Panasonic Viera TC-P42X1 42-Inch Plasma HDTV Reviews

This set is a fantastic buy and has excellent features in many catagories. I got my TC-P42X1 a week ago and I found it has one very major drawback for antenna users. Each time you scan for channels, it erases what was previously scanned, so if you have peripheral channels in several directions, you either have to rescan each time you rotate your antenna, or just pick the direction your best channels come from and live with it. This is a major disappointment since the Zenith DTT901 DTV converter box easily added channels from all directions. It also had a much better guide setup which showed what show was coming on next, as well as the current show. The Panasonic support line representative told me that this is pretty much true of all Panasonic sets. If it is possible for them to change this behavior with a firmware upgrade, I would love to see that happen.

Other than that major drawback, I love the set. The picture is fantastic, the sound is excellent, and it is easy to switch between all the different inputs. Highly recommended for anyone that has cable or satellite signals. I got it for $701 at a local Sears thanks to their Price match plus 10% policy.

no one has an antena anymore so i highly recomend this tv for anyone else. This tv is aswome and look around for best pricing. Sears just had it on sale for $599.99 but i found i5t even cheaper but cant say where. But even at 599.99 an d best buy also had it at that price and so did pc richards. find it and buy it

Just bought my 42″ and at 599.99 its a steal the picture is great and sound quality is clean. I play Xbox 360, and games look great which the exception of some pixelation but that happens with almost any TV. For the price you cant go wrong.
