We bought the Acer Aspire 5520 in Jan. 2008. We absolutely love it! It has the built-in webcam, which we used to talk to family back in the states while we were in Taiwan and it worked great! Pictures are easy to download and share, videos, etc. Love all the USB ports and the built-in DVD/CD rom player. Battery life could be longer, but we just usually leave it plugged in, unless we travel and the kids use it for a DVD player in the car. The only downside is the touch pad is very sensitive and the cursor would jump all over in the middle of writing e-mails. It drove me crazy until I bought a wireless mouse for 10.00. Problem solved! You have to turn off the touchpad using the F7 key, otherwise, it overrides the wireless mouse. We got a Logitech wireless mouse. Now, my cursor stays where it’s supposed to and we have not one single complaint with this laptop. We’ve had it almost a year now and use it constantly!
Well worth the money spent, which was about 500.00 at Circuit City.
